It’s really cute but a bit overrated. The statue is really small. I was there a few times during a day just to check the if the dress is different, but I realised that it’s one costume per day from 9am to 6pm. Close to the Grand Place, iconic place for Brussels

Visited this place which is one of the tourist attractions of the city. The lanes and the surrounding showcase the old golden era of Belgium and city of brussels. Lot of old building and old rides are attractive. Many statues in this area symbolic to many beliefs of the people in the country. These lanes have many restaurants too where u can enjoy waffles and other food items. U also can have horse cart ride and enjoy the street musicians there performing in front of crowd.

A small statue of a naked boy child pissing is kept in the famous square. Has a historical significance. The original statue is kept in the Belgium museum as it was stolen so many times. This one's a replica. And there's always a huge crowd to watch this statue. The irony is there isn't a single restroom available nearby, if you felt like pissing! There are many shops lined on the road towards the Statue from the Grand Square, you can't miss the crowds. A restaurant right next to the statue has a huge queue as well for people wanting to fine here. I loved a Lace shop exactly diagonal to the Statue. It has lovely white & Black lace objects like handkerchief, decorative items, artifacts, etc made from white Belgian lace which was once a very handy, delicate & famous Art form. I bought myself a White laced Umbrella for thirty Euros from this shop as I am a big fan of hand made articles, as I come from India.

Icon of Brussels, small than expected but interesting tourist point. Unfortunately I did not visited in one of the special costumes were used, however is the same street you can find a place that you have all costumes exposure. Interesting fact, the original one is in a museum, the one on the street is a replica.

I wonder why so many people gather to see this little statue of a boy pissing! It is a success of promoting a city! They prepare different clothes for the boy on special occasions and you can see its previous clothes in a museum just a fifty meters up the street from the statue. To avoid crowds, visit the statue early in the morning

Whether it's overrated or not is uncertain, but the stroll to this location within the old city was truly delightful. If you're visiting, be sure to take home some chocolates, as there are numerous shops offering exquisite Belgian chocolate in the vicinity.

An iconic landmark which attracts visitors like myself. It could be a crowdy there, but with patience, you'll get the chance to snap a photo or video. I must say that it would be best to come early if you want to avoid the crown. Otherwise, any time of the day or night is possible as well.

The statue may not be much to see but there is plenty of restaurants and shops in the area that is great for drinks, catch something to nibble, or indulge in some of the best waffles this side of Brussels while relaxing and contemplating what the evening has in store...

It's joy to see the little statue of the famous little boy but to me its ovehyped. It is very near to the Grand Place of Brussels where you can find lots of restaurants and souvenir shops. There are some famous chocolate and waffle 🧇 shops nearby worth trying

30/04/22: having been to Brussels 4 times, it is only in the last few years that I have documented places I've visited, as a part of my Google legacy. This time in Brussels I was celebrating my Stag Do with 18 friends. Probably one of the most famous photo opportunities in the whole of Brussels. Scout Day today, hence the little wee lad was eventually dressed as a Boy Scout!

Though the statue is quite small, it is adorable and the history behind this is quite amazing. You can see many tourists around this stop be it any time of the day. My recommendation is to get this visited as a part of free walking tour. This would get etched in your memories

This is one of the cities cultural landmarks and worth a the quick visit if you’re here. It’s a fountain off of the Grand Place. When I came there are only a few people around but another time I walked by there was a mob of people.

For me this is the most overhyped tourist place in the world! 🫣 Don’t get me wrong, for a small city fountain it’s nice, but being advertised as the biggest, best and most famous spot in Brussels? BIG NO 😝

The Delightful Charm of Manneken Pis Manneken Pis, the tiny bronze statue, is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Brussels. Despite its modest size, the playful spirit and quirky personality of this little guy bring joy to visitors. The tradition of dressing him in various costumes adds a whimsical touch to the experience, reflecting the city's sense of humor and creativity. While it may not be a monumental landmark, Manneken Pis holds a special place in Brussels' cultural tapestry, reminding us that even the smallest things can leave a big impression.

From everything I’ve seen here in Belgium, Mannekin Pis sums it up. I don’t understand how this became emblematic of this city but it embodies the charm and overall fun Brussels is. It was not dressed in a costume today but there were lots of tourists taking photos. Very close to the Grand Place where you can enjoy the smells and tastes of waffles and chocolate.

I knew about it casually. I going to the Brussel museum was very informative about the evolution of the statue of the little guy and how it turned to be a symbol filled with political historical and even social implications

Nice tourist attraction, though one must not expect it to be a huge statue. It symbolises the city in an unique manner and highlights the humor of the local people. There are delicious waffle shops nearby which one must not miss. It's a nice place to click photos, treat as a souvenir and also it can be seen in the various parts of the city. Have fun and don't miss it! :)

A world renowned place which kickstarted the journey of a revolution. The place is normally packed with tourists. More often than not, you will barely be able to take a picture of the fountain of the peeing boy statue. There are a couple of great chocolate confectionery next to the fountain. Also, you will see a lot of street performances on the streets nearby.

Not sure you can say you have been to Brussels without seeing Manneken Pis. After you see him - he is much smaller than you think he is! - head up the hill past the cafe with the bicycles driving up its side to the Manneken Pis costume museum. Our group of 6 loved this impromptu stop in our day.

Such a cool statue/water fountain. I heard a little about the history, but not sure what is true. Apparently this was put up.to honor a little boy that put out a fire by peeing on it? This could all be rumor but would love to know the truth! Great spot for some fun photos, it does get crowded with tourists though!

This is also a must do if you come to Brussels....but don't expect it to be huge and magnificent..... it's actually really small. Small doesn't mean unrelevant, or to be disregarded. It's like an awkwardness! This little guys is being dressed differently all the time. And the streets to to it are beautiful

It will give you some laughter, a smile but it is simply a replica of the original piece. Just pay close attention to the attire that the mannequin dons, it represents what is happening at the time in brussels. The tree nearby is something to interest you.

What a small little statue that you will just have to go see. Believe it or not, Manneken Pis has been around since 1619. You can't really visit Brussels without stopping by. We went at night on a weekend, around 10pm and it wasn't crowded at all so outside of rush hour it really isn't that difficult to walk by. There are also some great chocolate and waffle shops in the area with cute souvenirs. Basically just go see the little boy, it really doesn't have to take that long, and it is iconic 😊

The Manneken Pis in Brussels, Belgium, is a beloved and quirky symbol of the city. This small bronze statue of a little boy urinating into a fountain has captured the hearts of locals and tourists alike. Despite its size, the statue has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. It has been dressed in various costumes and outfits, reflecting different themes and occasions. Visitors often find it charming and amusing, and it's considered one of Brussels' most famous landmarks. The statue's wardrobe is kept in the nearby Brussels City Museum, and there's even a tradition of occasionally flowing beer from the statue during special events.

One of Bruxelles tourist attraction destinations. It’s basically a fountain with a statue on there. I really don’t know or can’t remember the history about it based on what the tour guide said but the entire area is quite picturesque and a lovely site to soak in. A must visit if in Belgium.

It’s not the most exciting thing to see but it is in a lovely spot. It’s also so small! We went early Saturday morning and everyone there was offering to take pictures of each other in front of it and it was a good crowd. Totally overrated but no one actually goes to Brussels just to see it. It’s just more so an interesting thing to walk past!

A famous statue that is worth a walk to see if you're in Brussels, if only to get to the excellent bar next to it! We went with our daughters of 10 and 13 who were a little bemused by the idea of it, which tickled us! There is a lovely bar just next to the statue called Manneken Pis bar. It is well worth a visit in there. Overall, it is worth a wander to see as it is free and a famous landmark, but don't expect too much.

There are a couple of legends behind Manneken Pis, which creates a mystery surrounding this sculpture. You will see him in a costume if you are lucky. Great for pictures if you are looking for something funny and different. There is also a "cardboard figure" nearby if you want to act as Manneken Pis.

Manneken Pis, a small statue, right at the corner of the intersection is always full of tourists, everyone wants a photo with this boy, but it is difficult to capture it well. The statue is nothing special but it is reminiscent of Brussels 300 years ago. Perhaps this is a place not to be missed if you want to tell everyone that you have been to Brussels. From the central square, it only takes a few minutes to walk through the old small streets and you can reach this boy.

While it is not the biggest statue and is often overcrowded, it is cute and funny and brings in many tourists. As a result, the street is very busy and vibey. I think it's also really cute that they dress up the statue for different occasions.

  • 3/5 Henrique Sampaio D. 2 years ago on Google
It's nothing special, but there was a lot of people visiting and taking pictures of the statue. I did it myself, haha

A true symbol of Brussels. Don't expect though to find a huge and massive statue. Symbols are sometimes, much smaller than we think 😉. Enjoy Brussels ! It has a lot to offer and it's truly a nice city for a weekend or to live in. And don't forget to enjoy the Belgium beers and fries!

  • 5/5 Anchie I. 2 years ago on Google
So cute to see, many shops around the area, different waffle flavors. You can reach here by tour bus hop-on hop-off.

Widely quoted the world’s most disappointing attraction but I, myself, am huge fan! Manneken Pis is endearing and I am amused each time I see him. I also love the fact that his clothes change regularly, making you want to go back often to see what outfit he will wear next.

If you’re expecting a huge statue, you’re gonna get bumped. Nevertheless, it has its charm and you’ll probably pass by by mistake. Someone told me that it’s not even the original Manneken Pis, in fact, it’s put in a museum.

  • 3/5 Wenzel N. 2 years ago on Google
The place you have to go. Just don't ask why. You find much nicer place to be excited about this city. E.g. opposite you can find a funny house with bicycle on the wall.

This Belgium little monument is a must see! It is a great place to take a selfie. It is surrounded by many small souvenir shops as well as great places to have waffles and Belgium fries!

The VERY famous Manneken Pis@Brussel.. Loved the Belgium canals, chocolate, waffles and creepe.... Must visit place to come and enjoy their unique history..

  • 3/5 T D. 2 years ago on Google
This statue is representation of historical events of a brave child. You will be bored or frustrated after finding this tiny status ultil aware of the real event. It is placed some distance from grand place. It is not in must visit list but you should aware of the event. Good place to visit in Brussels in hot weather.

If you want to go to Brussels ( Bruxelle ) Belgium, of course you should not miss this monument in the heart of city near other monument and shopping and etc... Easy to Access by walking, free visit, and etc... Just manage your time to visit anything in order of course manneken pi's😉

  • 1/5 John K. 2 years ago on Google
If you are there you might as well see. It is a very small statue but the lore is interesting. But the real attraction is the . . . check out the picture. The Grand Place or Grote Markt (central square of Brussels.

Really enjoyed visiting this little chap, seeing his different outfits each time. Was pretty busy the first few times we went but early weekdays it was quiet and easy to get good photos.

  • 4/5 Mariela S. 1 year ago on Google
Its located on a side street a block away from the hustle and bustle. It was such a small little statue and didn't have an outfit when we went. The are around it is nice to look around and it's definitely a must see staple. Took a total of 2 minutes out of our day.

  • 5/5 Anton P. 1 year ago on Google
It was great to see the little man in person. I have always known of Manneken Pis so it was a big tick of my list! It is great that this is free.

Not sure what's the hype about this little pee boy is but definitely weird to find this as a place of Intrest. Also weirder to find the replicas of this made of chocolate and in souvenir shops !! 😆 Went here cause of just the hype, a small Statue on the wall and that's what it is. Lot of excited people around !

  • 3/5 Marissa H. 1 year ago on Google
Iconic with a lot of history, and easy to tick off your list when you’re strolling through Brussels center. The statue is regularly dressed up in different costumes. HOWEVER, it is probably best if you visit knowing what to expect (small statue, busy crowds).

  • 5/5 Luqman H. 1 year ago on Google
A cute little sculpture, one of Brussels’ attractions. The sculpture is really not that big so low your expectation. The surrounding area is somehow clean despite a lot of visitors. It’s an easy walk from the center.

  • 4/5 Mina S. 1 year ago on Google
Tiny cute 😂naked boys sculpture which most of the time covered with different clothes, its one of Brussels attractions .You will find it very smaller than your expectations. It’s 5 min walk from the centerum

Nothing impressive, not to miss or anything of importance whatsoever. There are at least 50 more amazing statues you'll find just walking on the way there 😃 And at least two fountains. Of course there is the historical value and humor, but the statue is nothing but a good replica. Probably better to visit the city museum if you have to choose.

  • 3/5 Niranjana S. 11 months ago on Google
Honestly I don’t know what the hype is about!..Its a cute kid in a weird pose which surprisingly has become the most visited tourist spot in Brussels. One time visit and on special days you can find the statue dressed up in different costumes :)

  • 3/5 ESTRELLA RUBI REYNA Q. 11 months ago on Google
The story is interesting, this font saved the belgian people when they did not have water. But it is very simple. A tour guide told us, the doll has many costumes and the people really love it. As a tourist, there are better things to see.

  • 5/5 Bharat D. 10 months ago on Google
Small statue but very famous in Brussels. 5 min walk from the center. Usually very crowded. I heard it's a replica and original is in the Museum. Surrounded with many sweet, souvenirs and waffle shops.

  • 5/5 Mireille D. 10 months ago on Google
Great funny and historic monument, just imagined bigger in size.. cute and special. I think that the area around should be more touristic and the place needs more marketing

  • 3/5 Audrey L. 1 year ago on Google
It’s in the city center near lots of tourist attractions and Brussels Central Station. I went there on Saturday, very crowded indeed. People can’t see up close, but it’s totally fine to visit because you will see interesting places along the way. If you see this Manneken Pis statue, you can finally say “Yes, I’ve been to Brussels”.

  • 5/5 Yna 10 months ago on Google
I was amazed at the fact that a boy that takes a leak could be such a phenomenon. However, Brussels proved that it is possible indeed. The fact that they change his outfit from time to time seemed really interesting for me. It’s no such big deal, but it’s a “must see” if u get here. I really enjoyed listening to the legends of this statue, and it seems like still nobody knows which one to choose - they are so many. Don’t imagine i did anything fancy - just searched on youtube for an explanation of why this boy is such a phenomenon.

Nice surroundings, charming buildings. The statue is rather small and does not make a big impression. Nice to see it as the symbol of the city. Beware of the crowds here.

  • 4/5 Akshaya G. 10 months ago on Google
It’s crazy how popular this little manneken is! Visited it only out of curiosity. No complaints but I personally feel it is kinda overhyped. The place was too crowded. For me, the best part was to drive through area and experience the culture of the city.

  • 5/5 Mahmoud D. 9 months ago on Google
Nice monument, it’s not crowded at all which is nice. I would recommend going to the Brussels City Museum before to read about the history of the statue and ti see the original statue!

  • 4/5 Annu 9 months ago on Google
A cute monument which is not very far from the station , also can be crowded by tourist depending on the day and time you visit .Would recommend to visit when travelling there .

  • 4/5 Amo O. 9 months ago on Google
Fact: It was designed in 1388 and is one of the most representative and loved symbols of Brussels, originally serving as the means by which many Bruxellois received water. It was a bit crowded when I got there with lots of tourist. Might be best going to the museum first to know more about the statue

I had the pleasure of visiting the famous Manneken Pis in Brussels on a delightful Sunday evening, and it was a unique experience that I truly enjoyed. The iconic statue's charm and character instantly captivated me, and I could understand why it is such a beloved symbol of Brussels. The place was bustling with visitors, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere. Despite the crowd, I found the energy of the place to be quite infectious, adding to the overall excitement of the visit. Seeing Manneken Pis up close was a must-do for me, and I wasn't disappointed. The quirky and humorous statue certainly lived up to its reputation, leaving me with a smile on my face. The surrounding area offered various shops and cafes, adding to the charm of the visit. It was lovely to immerse myself in the local culture while taking in the sights. If you're in Brussels, a visit to Manneken Pis is definitely worth it. It's a fun and iconic experience that showcases the city's unique character and history. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply looking to enjoy a bit of Belgian charm, this quirky landmark won't disappoint.

I’m not sure why everyone is rating this anything but 5 stars. It’s a simple little statue. You see it, it’s cute, hopefully he’s wearing an outfit, then you move on to something else. Takes no time from your day really. There could be a crowd. Check out the man/lady parts bakery shop next to it, too.

It's ok. When u get to it, it is surprising that it is an attraction. Small statue. Lots of shopping around. Good that it is not far from the Grand Place.

A overrated Statue you find only because a lot of crowd is around. Few 100 meters from Grand place. A nice walk from Grand place.

September 2023 Visited the famous Manneken Pis many time in the past. It was my 10th visit in Brussels so it good to spend some time at grand place and visit the famous statue. Interesting thing was that it now use also to spread message and this week it was about health and doctors. So great to see the boy in the cloth. The place is not big so you may need to wait to get better pics.

  • 4/5 Chiquita M. 7 months ago on Google
It's really famous and astonishingly small. It's been stolen 7 times and also broken. Brussels' landmark Manneken Pis might be considered the best-dressed Belgian as the pissing youth has 1095 costumes in his wardrobe. Sometimes it's incredibly crowded and 5 min later the crowds have dispersed and you can take your pictures without anyone but the Manniken in it. Across the street is a nice cartoon mural.

  • 4/5 Young S. 7 months ago on Google
Amusing to see. It's a bit of a thing to do if you are in Brussels. The official dresser of the Manneken Pis updates the wardrobe and the decor so it's worth going by it on different days if you are in town for a duration

  • 5/5 Ziad K. 7 months ago on Google
Manneken Pis stands as an emblematic figure in the heart of Brussels, a testament to the city's whimsical charm and rich history. Though modest in size, at a little over 60 centimeters, this bronze statue of a boy mischievously urinating into a fountain basin resonates deeply with the playful spirit of Brussels' inhabitants. The tales surrounding its origin are as fascinating as the statue itself, with one popular legend regaling how a brave boy once thwarted a major disaster by timely urinating on a fuse meant to explode. Given its fame, it's no surprise that the statue has faced theft and damage throughout the years. However, the resilient city ensured its preservation by relocating the original to the Museum of the City of Brussels, ensuring generations can marvel at its story. Visitors today will find its replica proudly holding fort at the intersection of Rue de l'Étuve and Rue du Chêne. But the fun doesn't stop at mere observation. Delight in the quirky tradition of dressing Manneken Pis in an array of costumes - a tradition so embraced that there's a dedicated museum for his eclectic wardrobe! And if you're lucky, you might just catch an event where the fountain turns into a beer dispenser, serving amused visitors with a unique brew straight from the statue. A visit to Brussels is simply incomplete without experiencing the joy and mystery surrounding this iconic figure!

He is called "one of the most three disappointed tourist spot" but I love him 😄 what people expect for statue at the street.... Fun to see his cloths at museum in Grand Place.

  • 3/5 Benji 5 months ago on Google
The statue was awesome, but unfortunately tourists have no manners and push past you to get a photo. If you're going you'll need your patience - and don't wear nice shoes as people will stand on your feet! The statue is cool and just had a change of outfit.

  • 5/5 Silvio F. 5 months ago on Google
Crazy to see how crowds of people gather around to see the little peeing boy. The bronze sculpture - which is actually a replica - with its many different outfits is such an important symbol that it has its own official dresser. You read me well. In fact, there have been around 13 official dressers since the 18th century and, holding such a title, is somewhat a great deal in Belgium. I was lucky enough to visit the Manneken Pis and witness the official dresser changing its outfit… well, more like leaving the poor dude unprotected and vulnerable in the cold.

The statue might not be interesting to some, but there are many restaurants and shops in the area where you can stop for a drink or while you relax, eat the best waffle in Brussels.
