I mean it tastes good but it is just a fries.. I really do not understand why patatoes fries are so popular in Belgium, it is just regular fries.. But the sauces are delicious, I really like the sauces, Samurai and Coctail we tried and we really like. Another thing is Mitraillette is sort of burger and fries but in a huge baget bread.. It was interesting to eat, but it was good.

Having tried a lot of fries in our life, we can honestly say there was NOTHING special about these ones whatsoever. We heard that they were cooked in special flavorsome oil - nope, couldn't detect that! We heard that they were extra crispy because they were double fried - nope, not extra crispy. In fact they were extremely under salted and the sauce (andalouse) certainly wasn't one to write home about. It's supposed to be a fusion on ketchup, mayo and mustard - but all we could taste was curry. 😕 Huge let down... we were so excited! Service was nice and quick nonetheless - we just have no idea why people are lining up for these.

It's one of the most popular places to have Belgian fries in downtown Brussels. The service is fast, but the way in which the sauce is served is not very convenient. The entire sauce is put on the top. Serving the sauce separately may be a better idea.

Really good fries. The fries are large and irregular in length. But every piece has a perfectly crispy outer skin wrapping a starchy and soft inner, the definition of a perfect fry. The smell of fresh fries right out of the fryer evokes something primal and nostalgic.

One of the most famous places to eat belgian french fries. The food was fresh and authentic. For the fries there is only one size and it is 4€ for fries+1 sauce (the most common one is the Andalouse)

Best fries in the city. Local fast food place that has been there for many many years. It offers a variety of local street food. It’s most remarkable one is the “Metralleta”, it is a sandwich made of meat and a tone of fries. The fries are NOT frozen and are delicious, I highly recommend tasting them with sauce andaluse.

Best fries in Brussels. Fries or frites as they call them are available all throughout town but the best are from Fritland. They use fresh potatoes and you can definitely tell the difference. The fries are perfectly crispy but nice and tender inside. It might take a while to order but your patience will be rewarded.

No one can explain what kind of meat they put in the what they call the hamburger (try, you'll see). The meat (photo) looks and tastes like nothing you can identify. The texture is similar to those supermarket poultry sausage. Fries are ok, nothing exceptional. I don't get the hype.

Good fries. But for all who read this: bring cash money! It’s Belgian logic to put the ‘no cards’-sign when you are ready to order, after waiting 20 minutes in line🥲

Fritland is one of the best fries 🍟 place in Belgium. :) However, I have never seen it so empty (due to covid of course). I hope they recover soon.

Belgium is called the home of french fries for a reason! Very tasty and wide range of other snacks. I can really recommend the mitraillette! Not easy to eat and certainly not healthy either, but super tasty! In Corona times even without a long queue - haha.

Some of the best fries I've ever had. Walking by this place we noticed a long queue so we decided to give it a try. We ordered a portion of fries and a white sausage with onions. The sausage was decent, but it was a bit too greasy. However, the fries were amazing. They were fresh, hot, crunchy on the outside, soft inside and with the right amount of salt. I didn't even need sauce for these fries.

Cocktail Sauce was great. Fries were just ok, had better fries in other places nearby.

Pretty good fries, good portion size. Amsterdam still holds the medal for best fries I've ever eaten though.

One of the best Belgium fries in Brussels, the queues are steady throughout the day. The fries are crispy however they don't have the extra layer of crispiness, perhaps they are not air-dried which gives that extra layer of crisp and soft and fluffy inside. Still a good fries and loving the andalouse sauce, only 5 min wait because I went early.

Love the place. Best fries we tried in Belgium ! Sauces are 1£ each and they are plenty. Q was mad. Found out that you can order on the inner stall without Q after. If youre planning to visit this place do order inside !

I tried the fries at this place. They were alright, nothing too special. The sauce didn't really do it for me either. They tasted freshly made, which was nice, but I've had better fries before. Just my personal opinion!

Average fries with not worthy to take kebab. The fries were ok, but not crunchy and amazing as expected from a place that has the word "fries" in its name. Don't waste your money on tasteless kebab. Service was fast, the inside looks suspicious and the tables outside were dirty. Too touristic for them to care

We went to Fritland to cheat the lunch, since we were not in the mood for eating "more complex" meals. The place was full. The room inside the restaurant is extremely small so it doesn't need to many people to make it full. The patio was quite busy as well but we were able to find a lonely table. The line was long as well, took something around 10 minutes to have my turn. We ordered two fries cones (one medium and one large), juice can and a beer. The price was alright, given it's in a touristic spot. The service was okayish. The employees weren't an endless pit of kindess, but I think can't blame them since the volume of customers is really high. About the fries... as many others have already said, they are good, but nothing special. For the "famous belgian fries", I really didn't get the hype. I had better fries in other places (even Five Guys' fries tasted better) so, it was kind of a disappointment.

Probably the freshest and tastiest fries I’ve ever had. That being said, the rest of menu looked of questionable quality and freshness. Stick to the fries for a great quick snack!

Lined up for 20/25 minutes, followed by a 5 minute wait for food. Saw various recommendations to try the fries at this place - Fries needed salt very basic fries nothing special (I ordered a small which was a good portion) - The peli peli sauce was delicious. The chili cheese bites weren't chilli at all and the cheese souffle was tasty. Would been nice if a vegetarian meat option was available.

Fries were very good, but they are still fries, taste like fries, mayo sauce was very good. About 15 minute queue at lunch time and another 7 minutes after i ordered because they did not have any chicken tenders made. But the guy made a nice gesture and also replaced my fries when the chicken was finally ready, so i would have fresh and hot fries.

The queue was very long, took 25 mins for us to get our fries and cod fish. The fish is mostly flour and greasy, would not recommend. Fries are good, we got the pita sauce (mayo, garlic and herbs).

The fries were delicious and it's a huge portion. €4 for the large fries without sauce, add €1 for sauce. The sausage was ok, nothing much to shout about. Had to q about 10mins for the food.

I’ve ordered chicken on stick and the famous Belgium fries The fries come with a dip of your choice which is really super tasty and enhances the flavour of the fries and can always try it with chicken 😉 I have had better fries during my travel to Brussels but the dip and the chicken were definitely 💯 good place to try Waiting time may vary from 10-15 mins due to huge lines

Stumbled across this little fries place packed with tourists and we decided to give it a try. It sure did not disappoint! Fries was crispy outside, soft inside, incredible selection of sauce. We also got a fish nugget (?) and some chicken wings which I love soooo much and still dream about!

Fresh Belgium fries that you can eat on site or take away. The fries are good but they charge for sauce, as I guess they all seem to. Fun to eat as you wander through the city

I visited here in October and it is now February and I am still thinking about these fries. Ohhh how I wish our fries in America were this good. Great place and fresh fries! There was a line when I visited but worth the wait. You can either sit at a table or walk around the city eating the fries, very convenient with how they serve them.

Our first experience of Belgian fries and it was def DELICIOUS. The fries on the sandwich was such a great touch. We also got the hotdog which we devoured. Try the samurai and pita sauce. It’s delicious

If you are in the mood for a quick taste of Belgian fries, this place offers a decent option. The portions are adequate, and they have a variety of interesting sauces that add flavor to the fries. Keep in mind that this place tends to have long queues.

A quick eat place that offers Belgians fries. Our fries weren't as crispy as they should be. The fries had the typical buttery taste that you can taste with belgian fries. I can say that a tourist place that offers fries which are not as good as it should be. However, prices are fair and staff are OK

  • 5/5 Guillaume B. 1 year ago on Google
We had to line up for about 30 minutes, so it can take some time during busy time, fries are good - good place if you are hungry, portion are very generous.

I sometimes see a long queue there but to me the frites wasn't very good. It was hard outside (not cripsy but hard). I took cheese sauce and it was really cheesy. I don't think it worth staying in long queue for this. They have both indoor and outdoor space.

Flew from LA to Belgium and this place was on my list of foods to try, it was #1 and it did not disappoint. The staff has a great system of keeping the line moving fairly quickly. The fries easily the best fries I have had, great bread, crunchy outside but light and soft on the inside, not chewy and heavy like US baguettes. Definitely a must try when going to Brussels.

Ordered their fries, which was what they are famous for, as well as a pork skewer, paying under 10 Euros. Fries were the best that Ive tried in Brussels! Good texture and not too oily in my opinion. Had to queue for abit though the queue moved quite quickly. Staff were very friendly too. Would recommend!

Great fries, and.€4 for a rather large portion is fair enough. There is a selection of many sauces, €1 for a small cup is a bit over the top in my opinion. No wait a Monday in July around noon. And plenty of free seats.

Traditional chips (or French fries) shop in Brussels which is most famous. It costs 4,00€ (+ 1,00€ for sauce) and the portion is huge…! I would recommend to share with 3 or 4 people. It tasted good but not exceptional so gave 4 out of 5 stars but défi worth trying when you come to Brussels as a tourist😊

  • 5/5 Katie S. 2 years ago on Google
The fries are incredible! Do expect a long queue outside, but it is worth the wait 👍

  • 5/5 Arlind C. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely, an institution of the Belgian/Brussels frites shops. Very close to Grand Place and La Bourse. The local speciality mitralet is recommended. If you speak Albanian to the nice staff, definitely you’ll get bigger portions 🙂

Very very good fries, can’t complain Had to wait in line for a bit cause they’re so popular but they really are good so I don’t mind They have a nice variety of sauces

  • 4/5 Somesh S. 2 years ago on Google
Long queue but the fries are worth the wait. The quantity is also good. 2-3 person can eat from one Belgian fries.

Wonderful fries. Way better than expected. I ate in with spicy mayo. Came at 11am on a Friday and there was no line and plenty of seating.

Really interesting way of frying fries. They did in beef fat which you can really feel and taste it on the fries.

came across this store through a tip on the Internet. nice crispy fries. however, the only fries on the trip - therefore no possibility of comparison. at least you don't do anything wrong here.
