This place is absolutely disgusting! I tried to stay positive and think on the bright side of being in this hostel. However, If I could give it 0 stars I would. The 4 bedroom share we stayed in had bed bugs in, to which the bar tender responded with “and what?” And laughed at us, and didn’t bother to take us seriously. After telling him that we won’t be staying in that room, he decided to give us a room out of good gesture, to which we found loads of silver fish insects in, and used cotton buds along with tissue and food under the beds. I’m pretty sure these beds don’t get cleaned, and yet they’re charging such a price for what? The bedsheets in the new room were all covered in blood, to which we had to go down and change ourselves. The staff member was not helpful and laughed at us along that he was pointing at us and saying something to another person at the bar in another language. Just think that’s a bit disrespectful, considering we were distressed regarding the insect situation. I do not recommend this stay, unless you want to bring bed bugs back with you! Absolutely not worth any money! I think this place needs a inspection as it is absolutely messy and not cleaned at all!

Visiting Brussels and I had a great chance to stay at the Jacques Brel Youth hostel. I loved that the hostel was easily accessible and close to public transport. I arrived from the central station and got a metro that took me straight to the hostel and I didn’t get lost. The hostel is very accommodating with great friendly staff who were always ready to help. I particularly want to thank Vita, Gael and Gabriella who helped me sort out my bag whose padlock jammed 🥲. The staff went all out to help me and ensure my stay experience at the hostel was great. The dining area was very clean and breakfast adequate. The lounge was comfortable and good too and I loved that the luggage room was very safe and provided a very big personal space for your luggage only that you need to carry your own padlock or buy one at the reception. The downside is that the WIFI was a problem and kept disconnecting hence interrupting the connectivity. The directions were clearly marked and I was very impressed. There is a lift too in the hostel 😊 I will be back definitely 👌🏾

Good price for the family bunkbed room. So we have private room. But the room was out of date, the rest room was smell. I think there's evaporating channel, made us should let the windows open while we go out. The only plus thing is all the booking rooms are breakfast included. They have no elevator to our 3rd floor room. The laundry room was not working either. I think they need to improve the property.

I stayed in the hostel for only one night about two weeks ago. The check-in was uncomplicated and the guy at the check-in was very friendly. Moreover, my room was tidy and even had a balcony with a decent view. Only the bathroom could have been a lot cleaner. Same goes for the public kitchen. What I very much liked were the game room with the opportunity to play table tennis, the sun terrace, and the variety at the breakfast buffet. Very good! Overall, I got some good sleep, met friendly people, and had a decent breakfast. I can recommend staying here and would come back any time. Just bring flipflops or something for the shower and bathroom. ;)

Wonderful hostel about I kilometre from the centre of Brussels. We had a triple room which had its own shower and toilet. Staff are really friendly, breakfast included which is a bag with yogurt, Apple, orange juice, cheese, jam, chocolate spread and a roll and croissant. With coffee or tea. Really well priced and convenient if you looking for something a little outside the the main drag. Has it's own bar which is really well stocked with a lot of beer choices (all bottles though)

Staying here was a nightmare. Upon arrival, both the room and the toilet were dirty. The breakfast offered was subpar, lacking in variety and availability. The condition of the duvets was terrible, to the point where they were unusable. Additionally, our room lacked elevator access, which was inconvenient. The room also had an insufficient number of power sockets, only three for a room meant for six people. No room service! Location is good. 20 min walk to the city center.

We booked double room, but got room for four. We were alone, so it was not a problem. Staff was friendly. Bed was okay. But bathroom... It was in a really bad shape. Mold across all ceiling. Water was not flowing away, so during shower you are staying in the water. But most disappointing was breakfast. It was 2 pieces of bread, cheap juice and an apple. Even worse, it was delayed for 20 minutes, it was crucial for us, as we were in a hurry to airport. I'd not recommend this hostel.

CAUTION - This hotel reception closes at 12:30 at night. If you are somehow delayed and you arrive later, they will not answer the phone or doorbell, and you will be locked out on the street at night. There is no one to call and no refunds will be given. I advise never to stay here if you think you might arrive at night. Somehow due to extreme luck, a nice guest and a cleaner helped me get in. General critique - the rooms/breakfast is mediocre. There isn't an electrical outlet for each bed in the rooms. Staff is pretty rude as well. Not worth the price. Not worth the risk.

We expected accommodation corresponding to the price.. for the young people (according to the name of the hostel) and based on the photos we considered it will be ok. But this was quite a disappointment. The room does not fit with the photos, the equipment was inappropriete and uncomfortable. We had to make the bed ourselves and that was quite humiliating. The walls were probably made of the paper and we could hear other guests (who don't respect the night peace) for the whole night. The staff obviously don't care. And even breakfast was surprising. The door of the dining room was opened 15 minutes later and the menu was very poor. We didn't expect much but this was really disappointment.

I loved our stay here! Me & my friends (3 of us in total) booked a private room with 3 single beds & 1 shower room. It was all we needed as we were only doing a 2 night touristy trip. We had to rent a towel for 3 euros each. Breakfast was also included which was basic but good enough (toast, jams, ham, boiled eggs, cereal, coffee). I would definitely recommend for people who are looking for a somewhere to stay whilst touring. It was only a 18 min walk to centre as well. Best thing for me was that we were able to leave our things before check in time and after we checked out. Make sure to bring a lock as they have storage *photo inserted* to keep your bags but you can use a lock to make sure it’s safer. That was what I really loved as saved us from the hassle of going around with our bags whilst we were waiting for 3 pm check in time. The only downside was the rude receptionist who was on shift the morning of 26th November. Doesnt hurt to be smile & be nice! 🤣

Heys guys! Be careful! This is the worst place ever to stay in Brussels!!! In spite of its good location, our room had two windows broken, no indoor heating, cold water to take a bath, in a very cold city!!!! Also, it was not clean, we found feminine lingerie from previous tourists!!! The staff was not very helpful, it seemed very disorganised, and they made jokes about the all situation! Finally, they arranged a new room, but three days later, we arrived to our room at 9 pm and we discovered that the staff simply had removed our personal things and stored them in the reception room without calling us … they have touched and removed our personal things when we have one extra night duly paid!!! The staff made excuses and jokes again about it!!! In four nights stay we stayed in three diferent rooms located in three different floors, made our beds three times and our things were removed without permission… it was a nightmare!!!!!

Ich hatte ein Zimmer für eine Nacht gebucht, da ich zum Sparks Konzert im Cirque Royal gegangen bin. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. An sich war das Zimmer in Ordnung, nur leider war das Bad nicht besonders sauber. In der Hinsicht gibt es definitiv Verbesserungspotenzial. Sehr positiv war dagegen, dass man sein Gepäck am Tag der Abreise gratis in einem Gepäckraum einschließen kann, wenn man noch etwas von der Stadt sehen will. Dafür ist es ratsam, ein Vorhängeschloss mitzunehmen. Man kann allerdings auch dort eines kaufen.

The hostal is fairly clean, very well situated and the stuff is really friendly and ready to help, breakfast is included and it’s all you can eat with the essentials of any breakfast. Overall really enjoyed my stay here !

Nice places to stay at Brussels. Breakfast was very simple, but good for u to have it. Stay at a four people dorm, it was very cool places. There is bar for Belgium beer and other activities. However, I was travelled around different parts of Belgium and came back pretty late every time. Be aware of the Kitchen hour. You won’t be allowed to use it after 10PM.

Breakfast good, but shared rooms have bunk beds and a very small bathroom. Not suitable if have issue with stairs. Convenient for Botanique metro and tram networks. Receptionist gave directions to local eateries.

They should double check the food because I had food illness on the second day of one week I stayed, even though I liked the place and the majority of my experience was good. The attached photo show that the eggs were old. I didn't waste time making a complaint because someone else from my team had already filed one about food poisoning and the administration had evaded their responsibilities. However, I did want to warn anyone else who would visit this place to check the food before they consume it. To prevent such problems in the future, I hope they monitor the quality of the eggs they provide and provide them freshly boiled.

Me and my girfriend had a lovely stay in the hostel. Cozy ambient, spacious room, and super clean. Price wise, it is brilliant for the service you get, plus a great breakfast included. I'd book it again when visiting Brussels for sure.

Receptionist was very welcoming upon arrival and check in was fast, hostel was also close to downtown. There’s a good selection for breakfast, which is something to look forward at night. Stayed in a 8-people mixed dorm and was quite satisfied with it, not the cleanest but still acceptable. Maybe consider the snoring noise that might disturb your sleep, unable to move freely due to roommates sleep early. Overall, really enjoyed my stay!

Worst Experience! Never ever book this hotel. It's a loss of your money... The staff over here is not cooperative they don't know how to talk to customers. Rude, unskilled, do not hear customers and do not expect any individual approach. I think this place needs a inspection.

Ich finde das Hostel sehr gut. Die Lage ist zu fuß machbar, sprich vieles ist in 20min erreichbar und es ist nicht mitten im Zentrum wos laut ist. Das ist sehr schön, das Personal war nett und die Zimmer wurden jeden Tag durch gewischt und die Betten bequem. Im 6er Zimmer hatten wir eine große Dusche und Bad mit abgetrenntem Bad. Man kann überall gut lüften und hat sogar einen tisch. Das einzige was es da in Zukunft vielleicht geben könnte wären größere Spinte. Ansonsten bin ich begeistert vom Frühstücks, es ist kostenlos und hat für ein Hostel viel Auswahl und sehr Müllsparend. Vegan und glutenfreie Möglichkeiten durch Reis und Maiswaffeln. Bio sojamilch gibts auch. Ich würde wieder kommen.

Room could be cleaner, but overall the hostel was good for the price, located in the centre, you can get almost everywhere on foot. We checked in late and had no problems. Most personnel was kind. And breakfast is absolutely good enough.

Wasn't the best hostel experience I made so far. Wasn't that open to connect with people. The breakfast was okayish, the rooms were clean. Like, for this low price is okay.

This was a solid hostel - it is very affordable so you definitely get what you pay for. Others have mentioned that you need to make your own bed, which I did not feel to be a big deal. There is a nice courtyard where people tend to hang out. This is a bit outside the city, but very walkable to anywhere you need to get to. The breakfast can barely be considered breakfast though: it is essentially bread, cereal, yogurt and jams (no hot or cooked foods).

Comfortable hostel. The beds are good, the breakfast is really decent. My only issue was a bit too much noise from the opposite room (young teenagers on a school trip, they seem to have a lot of them) and from the common areas downstairs. But nothing unbearable.

It was a nightmare. We stayed in room 32, Couldn't sleep for the whole night. Howling noise coming from the plant room and smoke coming through the ventilation. Can't shut the windows. Toilets broken and wobbly. Flushes automatically every five minutes. When spoke to the Reception about this , it was weekend they can't do anything, that's the answer I got it. Stay away from this place.. Absolute liars .when i explained my horrible experience to Agoda Customer care, the hostel denied everything. I took a video where the noise and smoke came from and going to take them to court. This hostel should be condemned.

It's good. You have your own shower and toilet, however in room for four people there were only 2 lockable lockers. There are some lockers in the basement, but c'mon, I want go to the basement everytime I want to change. Also you have to make your bed - which I don't find strange - but you don't get a duvetcase. Which was a surprise. The bunk bed was also very creaky and when you move on either bunk the whole bed moves. The biggest advantage over the other is the modest breakfast. Spreads, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, juice. That's the only reason I would choose it over the others. But if you don't care about 10 euros and breakfast, I would choose a different one.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Für den Preis ist die Lage sehr gut und die Zimmer schön sauber. Frühstück war im Preis mitinbegriffen, allerdings gab es dort vorgemachte Essenstüten ohne vegane Option und mit viel Müll, der nicht getrennt werden konnte. Bei den Betten konnte man die Decke nicht richtig beziehen und hatte stattdessen nur ein Tuch.

I had alot of fun staying there for 7days. All thanks to one particular receptionist. When you meet her at the front desk you will know its her. When others treats customers with less corncern, she treats you like you were her own family

Nice place, we stayed there for 4 nights, clean rooms, good breakfast for the price, awesome location, almost in the center of Brussels so we didn't have to use public transport. Also the service was kind, I made a mistake in booking, but they solve it without any problems

Wer günstig unterkommen möchte und nicht das hygienischte Zimmer erwartet, wird es hier sehr gut haben. Die Lage ist völlig in Ordnung und ich bin fußläufig überall gut hingekommen. Das beste sind die Mitarbeiterinnen dort. An der Rezeption die Julia, hat sofort reagiert, als ich mich im Mehrbettzimmer unwohl gefühlt hatte. Selbst die Reinigungskräfte haben es gemerkt und sofort gemeldet. Ich wurde sofort umgebucht und alles verlief reibungslos. Mein größter Dank, geht an diese Frauen! Generell scheint dort ein guter Geist zu herrschen und alle funktionieren im Team. Beim Frühstück ist auch für jeden etwas dabei, sogar mit veganen Optionen. Ich würde wiederkommen.

At the arrival, we did not get the room what we’ve booked. The next day, there were no hot water. In the morning, when we have gone to our trip, They said that it will be fixed until we get back. We returned at 4 p.m, but the situation was the same…

The hostel is very nice. The room was simple but everything was clean. The bed wasn't so comfortable but we just stayed 1 night so it wasn't a big deal. The breakfast is also simple but I don't need much, it has everything you need to enjoy a nice meal. Cons: there is no elevator so it can be a little complicated to go upstairs with all the luggage. Overall, our stay was great.

The most important things were good: location, price, breakfast. However, I encountered several failures. At first I was given a card which did not allow me to enter the bathroom. The heater was not working. I had only cold water in shower. And one device in the kitchen was not working properly.

Decent affordable and clean accomodation near the city centre. We had done a last minute booking for a private room for an overnight stay . We had an early morning flight the next day and a direct bus 272 is available from the stop near the hostel. We missed our breakfasts however the lady at the reception was kind enough to provide us tokens for the coffee machine. Reception closes at about 7pm .

Location of the Hostel was the best thing about this place. 15 minutes walking to the city center. 1. Place wasn't very clean and there was condensation on the walls. 2. As soon as we checked in, the toilet In our room was completely broken. Nobody cared to fix it. Even though water was running unstoppable for around 48h (hostels declares to be eco-friendly). 3. Staff wasn't helpful with the issues. One receptionist was rude saying"nothing in this hostel works anyways". 4. The hostel is huge with lots of floors, and the elevator is completely broken and doesn't work so watch out if you have luggages to carry

Just a money pit. Even though I canceled my reservation, they did not give my money back. 25 eur will probably make the owner rich. First of all, you should learn to how please the customer. You've been distracting me for days. The manager is at the meeting, the manager is not here , manager is not approving... Please focus on pleasing your customer which is more important than money.

It was my very first time to stay in hostel and it was very comfortable stay, stuff is so helpful and friendly, I arrived early in the morning and I left my bags in the luggage room for free and I asked for the lady on reception for recommendations for best place to visit that early and she was so kind, she printed out a map showing the city and draw me the way. The room was clean and the toilet also. Breakfast was good, limited items but good quality. Location is perfect. Highly recommended!!

Great central location, super helpful and sweet staff, the place is full of other young people and feels very safe. Breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations! Interesting blinking bathroom lights. Can't say the beds were the most comfortable, but I mean that's the student traveling experience, isn't it.

Great place, I book last minute and the Staff accomodated me famously. The included breakfast is what puts this hostel in my high praise, good food that puts a meal in your belly that you don't have to purchase from your travel budget Along with a bar in house, and a games room there's plenty of opportunity to socialize and interact with other travelers

The hostel itself is good, well located, and kept quite clean. The included breakfast doesn’t have much in it, and I had a terrible experience with one of the receptionists working there on the Sunday. I’ve been to a lot of hostels all over the world, and never have I experienced such impatience, rudeness, and utter anger from someone working in the field. She wouldn’t even give me her name so I could talk to someone about her. Shame. Other than that, it was fine. Not much of an atmosphere either.

The stay was amazing. The only thing was one bartender/check in operator, who, for some reason, did not like our group very much, but the other bartender was AMAZING and we had multiple nice conversations and even congratulated our friend on her bday!!! The showers were clean (maybe a lack of ventilation, however, we would just open a window to the outside and get the whole room ventilated with it as well) Good breakfast with plently of lactose free/vegetarian options too (not sure about vegans). All in all, a great experience

Spend a little more to book elsewhere, trust me - only good thing about this place is the location! I booked a private room but when we arrived, the room was not cleaned and they had to put us in a 4 bedroom dorm (room 123). This room was dirty, had uncomfortable cushions for pillows, a blocked toilet, no working WIFI and windows that did not open. The breakfast was literally a paperbag with a croissant, fruit and a juice box and NOT a breakfast buffet as promised. The staff were extremely unhelpful and did not provide us with . Also no social life at all (but this could be attributed to Covid).
