This
is
a
beautiful,
historic
residence
and
the
incredible
view
of
the
Grand
Place
is
its
main
attraction
(and
drawback).
There
is
probably
no
greater
view
from
any
other
hotel
in
the
area,
as
you
truly
have
a
direct
view
over
the
busy
square.
Throw
open
the
windows
and
you'll
have
a
postcard
view
of
the
area.
However,
the
noise
levels
are
something
to
consider
as
our
room
had
no
air-conditioning.
To
keep
cool,
we
had
to
leave
the
windows
open,
and
a
steady
stream
of
noise
(including
loud
music
and
laughter)
accompanied
us
at
all
hours,
even
very
early
in
the
morning.
You
can
decide
for
yourself
if
the
truly
majestic
view
is
worth
the
trade-offs.
The
building's
age
also
shows
in
the
worn
amenities,
such
as
chips
in
the
bathtub,
the
aged
wood
of
the
windows,
and
the
peeling
paint
of
the
walls.
However,
these
are
small
issues
compared
to
the
glaring
fault
of
the
room
we
were
allocated:
the
broken
or
missing
locks.
The
main
deadbolt
of
the
door
was
broken,
so
the
automatic
lock
(by
keycard)
was
our
only
protection
against
the
outside.
Oddly,
our
room
had
multiple
doors,
including
one
for
the
bedroom
and
the
bathroom,
but
the
locks
had
clearly
been
removed,
as
there
was
a
hole
beneath
each
of
the
door
handles.
There
was
no
safe
in
the
room
either.
This
was
the
biggest
problem
we
had
with
the
room.
These
issues
aside,
the
hotel
manager
was
very
warm
and
friendly,
and
I
found
him
to
be
most
helpful,
whether
it
came
to
answering
questions,
providing
information,
or
helping
to
move
suitcases
up
and
down
the
steps
to
the
hotel.
