Amazing view from the top. I climbed it in May 201 with 150 people from Ababi village Karangasem, eastern Bali. What a tough track but deserved to take it for its scenic & breathtaking summit in sunrise. You need to try it once in your life if you live in Bali or if you love something different with your Bali's atmosphere.

Mount AgungĀ orĀ Gunung AgungĀ is a volcano inĀ Bali,Ā Indonesia, southeast ofĀ Mt Baturvolcano, also in Bali. Gunung AgungĀ stratovolcanoĀ is the highest point on Bali. It dominates the surrounding area, influencing the climate, especially rainfall patterns. From a distance, the mountain appears to be perfectly conical. From the peak of the mountain, it is possible to see the peak ofĀ Mt RinjaniĀ on the nearby island ofĀ Lombok, to the east, although both mountains are frequently covered in clouds.

This is a long and demanding track, but view from the top is totally work it. You need to start around 10pm to catch sunrise from the summit.

I was reading many blogs and alit of information about the trekking, thatā€™s why i want to share ny experience. First of all, the fire of the park ut cost 13.000 rupees and nobody was there at 23:30h when i past the main entrance (so you can avoid this taxes). About the guide: in everywhere it said that you MUST take a guide(local people always look for business) but you really donā€™t need it(nobody will ask you where is the guide) and its not compulsory. It has some advantages like they show you the path, can bring you staff to prepare hot water that will be really helpfully when you are cold, maybe they can bring the tend to rest a bit before active the top, and as well always is more safety. BUT if you have experience in hiking i can ensure you that Agung its an moderate level trekking (i was reading that its high difficult but comparing with Rinjani it was easy for me) There are NOT marks to show you the way for walk so its easily to reach it but there are no painted marks or something like these. Itā€™s easy to go up, the last part as well plenty of rocks so no chance to swipe but pay attention to go down because the ground could be swiping due to the humidity and rain. At the beginning of December rains a bit in the afternoon so temperature at night decrease so be care and always its better to bring with your warm clothes! It will be useful bring more clothes in case that yours were wed (due to the humidity or your sweat). From the base camp(im sharing a picture) your must follow the path at the left side. I reach the top in 4h and the views on the top are breathtaking! Enjoy it and good luck!

Great experience, the climb can be done on foot, isn't too bad going up but more challenging coming down because it's actually quite steep. Guide was really sweet and knows her stuff ā˜ŗļø take a hoodie for the top, gets cold until sun comes up. DO IT

This temple has a lot of steps down, but you get to a set of ancient tombs, making it quite different from the usual Bali temples.
