Definitely a good place to visit if you would like to try traditional Hungarian cuisine. Taste: the goulash is great (the soup), with very tender meat and nice taste of the soup. the texture of the crepe is also good, but not a must try if you are so full Price: Very reasonable and affordable, I spend less than 12 eur for the 3 dishes, and is super full. Portion: Ask for suggestion, because the portion of food is really bigger than my expectation, the owner is very nice to give me suggestion and stop me from ordering the big portion of goulash🤣 Atmosphere: family run style, pretty small but comfortable, I especially like the table linen. As the restaurant is not big but full of customer, some time the staff will be quite busy to address your question, so need to be patient Overall: A very nice place to try some Hungarian food, a rather local one, and the price is cheap.

Typical Hungarian restaurant with delicious food. The waiter (I think it’s the owner) was very kind with us and also spoke us in Spanish recommending us some dishes. We ordered 3 soups, 3 main dishes and 2 desserts to share: 1 meat soup with vegetables, 2 meat soup, 2 Hungarian chicken stew, 1 Hungarian beef stew, pancakes with chocolate and the Hungarian sponge cake (which I really liked it). Everything was really great.

We got the goulash stew, fried cheese, Hungarian beef stew and Hungarian chicken stew( paprikas). Everything we ordered was very good. I especially liked my chicken paprikas. It was chunks of boneless chicken rather than bone in like a lot of places in town. They also have a spicy sauce you can add to give it some heat. 👌

Came here due to an article recommending it for authentic hungarian cuisine. The food was good and extremely fair priced, considering how close it is to the main tourist attractions around the Castle. The waiter was extremely nice and fun and just a pleasant presence to be around. The overall vibe was very welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place to eat at after visiting the Fisherman's Bastion and the likes.

Nice place , the service was good. I didn't eat Hungarian food there, because there weren't too many gluten-free options, so I settled for the dish of the day, which was chicken wings in barbecue sauce and potato chips, and they were very excellent! My friend order the pork chops and chips and he recommend on it!

The food here left a permanent smile on my face for the rest of the day and i feel that it was so delicious, it changed my life for the better. It’s a mistake not to come here. I had the baked chicken with mushrooms and dumplings, my mom had the roast beef, and my dad had the breaded pork stuffed with ham and cheese. I also accompanied my dish with the Hungarian beef stew, which was also very yummy.

+ The food served in this restaurant is tasty and worth trying + Prices in the menu are cheap for tourists (estimate max. HUF 2500) + Choices for small or large portions + The waiter and staff are very friendly and entertaining - The prices in the menu and in the receipt were marked up upto 2x stated in the menu. - The waiter kept getting the orders wrong and had to send the food back in multiple occasions Everything was going well until we had to pay for the food. The waiter had problems with handling the cashier POS machine and input wrong orders and inconsistent prices in the receipt (some items weren't the same prices stated in the menu and some small portion items were displayed as the large portion price.) Will I go back there again? No. There are many other Hungarian/local restaurants that are good value and delicious throughout Budapest. Do I suggest you go here? Maybe yes, but do keep in mind you should take a photo of the menu and write down what you and your friends/family ordered to make sure you arent being cheated/tricked by their great hospitality.

Last week I ordered from here through an Online Food Delivery Service, but when the time came suddenly they cancelled it without any explanation... I called Ildikó and she offered a full dinner for four with no charge as a compensation. It was delicious, thank you, Ildikó and Staff, this is what I call hospitality! The place is recommended, I will return for sure ;)

First meal in Budapest and got to say it was a underwhelming experience. Saw the good reviews and came to try but the food is far from tasty. And worst of all, the staff is rude. Definitely not worth your money. Avoid at all cost.

Firstable the food is tasty and it was a good place for trying local food because of it’s prices. The dishes were served very quickly and came all at the same time. The only thing that I felt weird about was that the staffs put a “RESERVED” tag on every single table, occupied or unoccupied, and rejected to serve some guests that wanted to go in, telling them to wait for like 30 minutes. Maybe it was because they don’t have enough tables or seats... so it would be better to have a table reserved on anticipation.

They make an effort for tourists. The menu is multilingual! The food tasted good and price was okay. The only sad thing is the size of the shop. Too less seats, many guest came and gave up to eat here bc of lacking place.

The host-Alex is fantastic, humorous and generous. We will definitely come back again, will recommend this to our friends, and their Hungarian food is great! We had goulash soup, roast beef and their beef stew, especially recommend the goulash soup ! Is a must have! And their price is good and reasonable!

Excellent little restaurant in Buda. The menu comes in many languages, and the staff speaks many languages fluently! Very welcoming and friendly staff. The dishes were excellent and fairly priced. I’d highly recommend stopping here. The restaurant is small so timing and luck are critical to get in. We loved the goulash soup!

Best goulash in Budapest. Their goulash doesn’t just taste amazing but it tastes like home. It tastes like you are at a Christmas family event. As soon as we entered we were treated as family, we will definitely come back here when we come back to this amazing country. In addition we were the first Puertorricans that ate at this restaurant.

Food was good (kudos to the chef), female waitress was nice (thank you), but the owner (I assume he is the owner - he was old with grey hair) is straight up racist 💀💀 went to this restaurant because of good reviews but he was so rude to us, Asians :< when we first entered, he rudely (& loudly) told us to SIT HERE(!). I thought it was just his attitude but he was straight up talking and chatting w other customers at other tables politely. When more customers came in (white people), he warmly welcomes them and brings them to the table. There was another Asian family around and he didn’t interact much w them too :( honestly a very unfortunate experience.

Very cute place close to the Buda Castle. The place is small but very cute and the waiter is just amazingly skillful with languages. Food gives you the "Home" feeling and seems to be very traditional. I highly recommend it if you like cozy, tasty and simple :)

It closes early (earlier than our regular dinners) and we really timed it just to eat here. The staff there were really welcoming and the menu comes in many languages. We loved all that we had, portions were huge and luckily, we were reminded to not go overboard with the ordering "oh, oh, oh enough enough" the pork cutlet stuffed with ham and cheese and the pork stew was delicious. We don't really take beef so the pork version of the Hungarian traditional food is a blessing for us to try

(Translated by Google) Great place, I even had to wait a bit until the seats were vacated. Do not look for variety among dishes, but the main ones are Hungarian. I ordered goulash and dumplings with beef. Just keep in mind that a small portion is really small. If the main course (in addition to goulash) is reduced, then you will leave completely satisfied, but not guzzled. As often happens when ordering Hungarian national dishes.

It’s good. We enjoyed it. Fun fact is the place is actually full of tourists. I found no local when I was there haha. As a tourist, I would say yes to the quality, but if you are looking for some more local flavor maybe u need to have a second thought ;)

Good food at a good price, especially for the location. The service was on point and it was quick. I had the pork stew, it was satisfying, enough sauce for the whole dish and there was a good balance between the meat and the 'gnocchis'.

Nice small restaurant, feels like home and nice and warm approach from waiter. Price is in good compared to location. Parking is problem but public transportation will solve this problem. Restrooms are on first floor accessible by stairs only. Food taste quite good and fresh. Place is always full so short waiting time is acceptable.

Tiny homey feels like home made family run place complete with specials on the chalkboard written only in Hungarian that they are unable to translate for you. We ordered the classic Hungarian beef stew with noodle dumplings, Greek salad, and goulash. The Greek salad was good but wasn't really a Greek salad as it was missing the long dressing and was light on the tomatoes but still was a welcome fresh addition to heavy meals. The star was the beef stew. Soft tender beef, light fluffy dumplings, perfection! The goulash was also good.

  • 5/5 Laura B. 1 year ago on Google
The restaurant is tiny and if you are really hungry, portions aren't too big. But they make VERY tasty, traditional food. Goulash was perfect! Waitress was very friendly.

Our dinner was quite early about 17:30 only 1 table guests before us, feel so lucky no need to wait for seats. We just randomly chose this restaurant rather than the other one on the street, cuz this restaurant give us really local homey feeling. It was so quick service, the food taste better than good. We order the Hungarian goulash soup, beef stew with dumplings & roast chicken fries with salad. Personally, even the one small portion is big for me.

Traditional Hungarian food, really tasty. If you are full, be careful with the portions - they have small and big (the big was in normal size round plate, but full of food). The toilet on the second floor is quite interesting (there is a scandal curtain in front the door, probably because the toilet is really close to a table and people need their privacy).

  • 4/5 Danielle 1 year ago on Google
Great service and nice quality food. Short wait for a table at this busy small restaurant! Staff were welcoming and friendly. We had the Hungarian Goulash soup and hungarian pork stew, both were very flavoursome! Reasonable price for the size of meals provided. Perfect sized portions for us for lunch time! Would highly recommend for traditional hungarian food.

Large portions, ordered for dinner for two a plate of goulash (very tasty) and perkelt, ate until the evening. The prices are not great as for Budapest, two large dishes and two beers came out ~ 5000 forints (~ 14 euros). There are often a lot of people in a cafe. The interior is ordinary, without any frills, come for a snack. Of the minuses, there is no wi-fi.

(Translated by Google) A small and very cheap restaurant with very good food, in some comments I saw that it had some drawbacks if you were going to eat late or that they could put other customers at your table, knowing that my partner and I went to eat before Two at noon and we ate very well four dishes, three drinks, and two desserts, all very good, for twenty euros. The Hungarian waiters are friendly in their own way. (Translated by Google) Very nice service and good home cooking at good prices. We were there at noon and got our food very quickly. The menu is available in many languages, but the food is original Hungarian. Top! Thank you so much! (Original) Sehr netter Service und gute Hausmannskost zu guten Preisen. Wir waren mittags da und haben sehr schnell unser Essen bekommen. Die Karte gibt es in vielen Sprachen, trotzdem ist das Essen Original Ungarisch. Top! Vielen Dank!

One of the best restaurants in Budapest, starting from the excellent service, cozy place, food amazing and the prices are extremely low for being the capital, thank you for great experience while I was in Budapest.

(Translated by Google) 13% added to the bill despite no previous information. Food was good, service was fine, room decor was poor (Original) 13% doliczane do rachunku mimo żadnej wcześniejszej informacji. Jedzenie jednak smaczne, obsługa w porządku, wystrój sali słaby

(Translated by Google) I asked for a stew that smelled from afar because it was spoiled! Terribly outrageous, I would fire a chef like that right away! I can’t believe the waiter didn’t smell it ... and he still had a muzzle to be puzzled, I ordered something else, “generously” let go of the price of the cucumber salad .... I hope Nébih closes the place! #nebih

(Translated by Google) We recommend it, very good experience. All very good, especially the typical ungaro sweet with chocolate "" Somiói Galuska "served quickly and very sympathetic.
