We checked in late night. Payment was before check in and before we saw the room. I think that if anybody takes the money on advance MUST TO BE SURE that everything is 1000% well. Room was very dirty and not fresh. I wrote email to reception. No reply from workers on hotel. On the morning I asked reception men for the manager of the hotel. He asked me about the problem. I told that I wrote email and all is on the email + I can show photos how dirty is the room. This person started to arguee with me in very bad and not nice way. Told me that he saw my email but I SHOULD (he used this kind of words to the guest of hotel) come on the night to reception to try to solve problem. I leave it to thinking for future guests is it ok if reception men see the email from guest of the hotel and he dont react immediatelly. Men from the reception told that he will call for manager and manager will come. I was waiting in the room around 5min and nobody come to see the situation and speak with me. I come downstairs again and I get info that manager is out of the building. I was losting my private time in the room...men from reception even didnt call me to inform me about that...so rude. I dont reccomend this place. Service is very very rude. Rooms are extremly dirty. Salami wasnt on main dishes on breakfast. I also asked worker of restaurant to put my cartridges for a tourist refrigerator to the freezer for 6-7hours. He put it the fridge not freezer......definitly service dont take care for guests, just takes money on advance and its some kind of fraud and cheat.

Everything in the hotel is top 🔝 Room service on request ( just put a sign on the outside of the door ), very clean, air conditioning, fridge. Breakfast is very rich and varied. It was very nice to stay at Expo while in Budapest for a few days. I hope to come back here again someday!

We booked this place because of the proximity to Puskas Arena. The place was nice and the view was really beautiful. There was a bit of a weird smell from the toilet, but closing the bathroom door resolved it. The breakfast was very good.

I'm amazed how this hotel can get 4 stars! The breakfast room is full of people from third world countries who look like refugees, and it's like grabbing something to eat! The hygienic environment in the room is very poor, even the towels are the same as last century, the gym on the 12th floor is always locked and cannot be used, and the hotel management is in chaos🤣

Our room and bathroom were clean, although there were some stains on the carpet. The mini fridge barely worked. Breakfasts were tasty and the restaurant staff was kind and helpful. I recommend having breakfast after 8.00-8.30 at weekends - you won’t have problems finding a table (the restaurant is quite small). There are only two elevators so be prepared to wait. The hotel is situated 15 minutes from an underground station, in a peaceful part of Budapest.

Our staying was very nice. They also opened a roof top bar which was very enjoyable, not to mention that the view was terrific!! The staff was very nice, polite and professional. The breakfast was tasty and with plenty of dishes so everyone can eat!

The sky bar is usually closed. The restaurant was closed for dinner. So only breakfast time was open. 7 to 10. Can't get drinks or invite someone for dinner for meeting..May be during the expo times., they open. Has huge parking space, located in peaceful calm area, 3 to 4 km away from center. Rooms are small and bathrooms are small. For dinner you have to book a taxi and go out somewhere.

Hotel Expo is modern hotel, within the reach by bus or taxi within 15 min. max. Receptionists are kind, forthcoming and English speaking. When it comes to my room in our case I came accross a little stain on the floor and water mixer tap that I found hard to regulate in order to have a warm ( not hot! ) shower. Too bad, spacious room but without standard properites provided. Elevators were to small for a 12-story hotel with significant number of rooms ( and guests during weekend stay ). The only meal we had was breakfast and it was very rich and tasty and included Swedish table with hot and cold buffet! All in all valute for money is OK but with significant room for improvement! Would revisit in order to see some changes....

How is this a 4 star hotel? It isnt close to the city center, hotel is clean but looks very old and trashy. Its not bad, it is just what i would expect from a 2 star hotel. You cant smoke in the rooms but rooms are really good

4 stars, but it seems to be awarded 20some years ago. Rooms are dark, carpets are messy, beds are well used. It is really a mid level place.

1 night stay - Room is fine, the only bothering thing is the carpet that looks dirty (both in the hall and in the room) - Internet: good, no issues; - Parking: available, plenty of places; - Beds: ok, normal hotel beds - Toilet: all good, decent place, hot water - Basic amenities: kettle, tea bags and instant coffee; dryer, kettle - Breakfast options: yes, a.m. - big variety and it was tasty - Personnel: kind, no issues - Payment: cash and card (possible to pay in euro).

Its faaar from 4 stars! but it seems to be awarded 20/30 years ago. Rooms are dark, carpets are dirty. Bed sheets dirty , the rof top bar is dirty thr tables the seats everything was old and dirty. beds are well used. It is really a mid level place. Been to many hotels in the past 12/14 years but never experienced such a thing. The only thing that i loved was the staff they were very friendly.

Hotel was nice, but lady at Sky bar at the top of the hotel was incredibly rude, not friendly, we left without having a drink.

We were at the 10th floor and despite that there was a lot of mosquitos. I don’t know what is wrong with that room but I suppose that is because of the ventilation in the bathroom which wasn’t cleaning very long time. My friend was staying in the 11th floor and had the same problem. Floors had a lot of marks after killing bugs. Beds were uncomfortable. At the breakfast was so many people that strengers had to sit at the same table because there was not enough room for everybody. As I see from the comments below, that problem last from long time so maybe they should change the hours for breakfast or sth. That was my worst experiens in the hotel with 4 stars.

We stayed there for 1 night before our flight out. The hotel has free parking which is useful if you come by car. Overall, it's a good hotel, clean big rooms. The breakfast is O.Kish very standard. The location of the hotel is not so convenient as it is a 15-minute walk to the closest metro or tram station. But is a good hotel for matching price-value.

Exactly what you want from an Expo hotel. Good coffee. Late food options. Quiet rooms. Hot shower. Small mosquito problem when I tried to sleep with the window open. Lesson learned, used AC, and sleep great.

A package that we booked included 3 nights for two persons with breakfast, welcome drink, 10% discount in A al cart restaurant, free use of hotel spa amnities (fitness and sauna), free parking. We came between 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. and we asked at the reception where we can eat (in the hotel or somewhere around) and we got the answer that we can eat in the sky bar on the top of the hotel, but that they serve only toasts and sandwiches or we can order food by wolt. We didn't get the welcome drink neither any informarions about where we can find and how/when we can use spa amnities. Our room was on 11th floor. It was dirty. We found a pubic hair on the toilet seat and not flushed toilet paper in the toilet. All around the walls there were dirty traces of, what seems like, killed bugs. We were there for 3 nights and not once did they refill a hair shampoo even though we emptied it. Also, parts of shower were falling off. First morning we used the cups for tea and coffee in the room and when we came back in the evening, the cups were dirty like we left them. There is no mini bar in the room although there is fridge. Free parking in front of the hotel was the only light spot of our stay in this hotel. It is not 4 stars range hotel.

Business hotel at a nice place if you need to sleep over if you have early flight, 20mins by car to airport (traffic dependant), with friendly english speaking staff, and nice view from Sky bar, but in need in overhaul and modernization, it is definitely showing its age.

Quite simple but nice and sufficient hotel at the Budapest fair district, good for busines travellers, who want to stay close to the expo and congress area.

The value for money is excellent. Employees were incredibly helpful and friendly. The Hotel is also great for people who go by car, because there is a big free parking lot with a security system. (video surveilance)

We were 3 adults traveling by car for Peal Jam show in July 2022 Budapest. The hotel is great for travelers with car, free parking and outside the busy traffic inner city roads. Great view from the top SPA floor. Nice bar (not working during pandemic). Rooms is just ok. Breakfast is good enough, not fancy but has everything you need to start the day.

  • 2/5 Andrey K. 1 year ago on Google
You have to go 1.5km to the nearest public transport stop. Both bars downstairs and at 12th floor are closed most of the time. No stores around, you have to walk half an hour to a Tesco. Room are very poorly cleaned. Breakfast is very poor and coffee is the worst I've had in years - do they clean coffee machines at all?

Hotel looks little bit wierd from outside, but rooms are definitelly above average. Breakfast is also good, and prices are affordable. Could be closer to the city centre though. We were happy we have choosen Expo.

Convenient if you have to go to an event at EXPO Budapest. Other than that, I have no other positive comments to make. A rather old style, but the worst part is that it is poorly maintained. The quality of the service is very questionable, I needed for a pharmacy they did not give me any support. I asked to be able to eat something before taking the medicines, they gave me a dry bagette. The bed sheets were dirty. And the very high prices for the service.

Great value. Comfortable rooms. Only airconditioning was always 29. Great that it has free parking and breakfast.

Good rooms for the price. Facilities are fine. More than a KM away from from the nearest metro which can be a bit inconvenient. There is a bus station near which can be used and taxis wont show up in busy hours.

Very Clean room, wonderful breakfast and a really nice bar, spa and Gym on the top floor Best if you need the expo area, a bit far from the metro, and scooters are blocked from parking in the area so if you are by foot its a 15min walk , but all included WONDERFUL hotel at a very good price

Mediocre experience, there are no activities nearby. Free parking îs the biggest thing here. Attention smokers: you cant smoke / vape anywhere.. not în your rooms, not on the 12 th floor bar/lounge, not în the restaurant, not even on the terace în front of the hotel... on the terace were put ashtrays, but when we starter to smoke, an old guy came and took the ashtrays right în front of our face... and when we spoke în english, he started talking fast în hungarian.. they all speak mostly în hungarian so good luck understanding...

Perfect placed hotel if you are attending to some event at Papp Laszlo Budapest Arena or HunExpo fairs. Price ok if you reserve early enough. Clean rooms, frindly staff. Sometimes parking is crowded. Average restaurant, european and hungarian cusine.

Great hotel with excellent rooms and very pleasant customer service at the reception. Only thing that it's a bit of an issue is that they don't have a bar/cafeteria so you can get water, refreshments etc and they have a very limited amount at the reception. Also the hotel has a sky bar that unfortunately is closed since covid. Would really love to have a drink there and enjoy the beautiful view.

Great spacy rooms with comfortable beds, average breakfast. Came in at approx. 21h, wanted to get some food because I haven't eaten since lunch, even though the room service was supposed to be still working, they wouldn't pick up the phone no matter how long I was calling them. By the time I gave up on them, bolt foods was already closed as well so I went to bed hungry. Overall great place, but room service doesn't seem to care for your money or how hungry you are. (Also no snacks available in the area)

First time in my career hotel staff-probably reception, had robbed my room safe deposit box after I informed them that I had forgoten my money in closed safe after group departure. Very bad experience after 27 year of experience as tour leader all over Europe. Avoid that hotel.
