This is an all-you-can-eat restaurant but in a reserved way. Usually, in this kind of place (at least in North America), you’d find lots of food and fill your plate with lots of stuff. Here, it’s different. It seems that they don’t want your eyes to get bigger than your stomach. They have displays of salads, soups, desserts, but without so many options and smaller portions. Another section of the restaurant is dedicated to pastas, meat, and pizzas. Here you order what you want, they prepare it and the waiter or waitress brings it to your table. The plates are beautifully prepared, but the quantity is surprisingly small. But in the end, you realize you eat well without going overboard as one usually would in this type of restaurant. Also, this is good because there is less waste for them. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They spoke English. You have the option of à la carte or the buffet.

I would have definitely given them a 5 star if their staff was a bit friendly, we went at 6pm for dinner and the place was half empty and we didn’t have a reservation or anything, we read the review on Google and accordingly we went, we were seated in the worst possible table and when I asked to move to a better one, we were told all of them are reserved, there was about 25 empty tables from 50 as the place is huge, which didn’t make any sense to me, apparently this place has a all you can option and the bigger section was for this offer, anyways, we sat and ordered and I have to say the food was really nice with the exception of the spicy garlic spaghetti which was not very well cooked and very very spicy for Italian food. Both soups were really nice, the tomato and cream of mushroom, the chicken Melanaisse was amazing and the tortellini cream spinach was definetly a must try. Overall I would definetly recommend to visit the place if you are in Budapest; but book a table to be seated in a nicer place.

Most people know Ape and Regina as it has a really good all you can eat menu, that’s excellent if you’re hungry. What’s not so well advertised is the really good daily menu that’s available weekdays between 12 and 15:00. It is excellent value, with a few choices of starters and main courses. You can order a well made pizza and pasta as well as items from the grill. It really is very good food, with friendly efficient service and a spacious airy dining room, Ape and Regina is well worth a visit.

Service is great. Food is great. Should have gone for all you can eat for the price though🫣

Food was absolutely delicious. Both my pizza and my parties’ pasta was absolutely fantastic. Service was excellent, both friendly and kind with amazing speed, not only my table but everyone else around us seemed to be having an amazing time. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with nothing but perfect service. For the price of the food I could not recommend this place enough. The best restaurant we’ve visited in Budapest

My family and I had the buffet option, there's an ala-carte option. They cook fresh pasta and pizza right when you order it. Antipasti was fresh and had lots of varieties. Grill was a disaster. Meats were thin and overcooked. Just the chicken and oyster mushroom was good in that department. Best for me was the pasta, really authentic and nice portion. They don't serve too much so you get to try many of their selection. Drinks also included but be careful, ask what coffee is included. If you order cappuccino, macchiato or the like, you get charged. Though the fee is not much. Dessert had loads to choose from. Tiramisu was nice. No ice cream here. Love the service since they take off the plate you're finished with almost immediately so you have more room to order, more time to indulge. They speak English. Staff was mostly okay but the lady with long hair was just so friendly i forgive the others. 🤣

Unfortunately this restaurant is a big disappointment. The photo of the caesar salad should speak for itself. Stale lettuce, undercooked chicken, and plenty of mayonnaise. There were at least 5 bugs flying around us by the end of our meal. As a Budapest resident, I am disappointed about the high google ratings of this restaurant which would lead visitors to there. Having browsed through the reviews and seeing the language and manners with which the restaurant has responded to criticism is the final straw in a series of unfortunate gastro events happening in this restaurant.

All you can eat. Great offer! Great food. Just stuff was a bit slow in cleaning the table and bringing drinks.

Great food & service. we actually visited this restaurant 3 times but for some reason I forgot to take pictures of the food. Everything we had was delicious!! For sure we will come back next time we are in Budapest.

Absolutely amazing food. Service was good as well, the staff was really nice. They did however forget to bring us an extra wine glass and espresso but they were really apologetic and sincere. It felt like a really fancy restaurant without the high premium. (you got to taste the wine before ordering etc). We (6) had several pizza's and risotto, shared a bottle of wine and had amazing tiramisu. We ended up paying roughly 23 euros per person split equally.

Amazing authentic italian dishes and nice service. More than enough on the plate. We ate à la carte and we would come again!

We visited this restaurant twice on our trip as we liked it so much, one of the staff members even recognised us. Super friendly staff! Good portion sized dishes, freshly made pasta and pizza. All round lovely place to visit.

Nothing seems to be fresh here. Spaghetti tasted warmed up, seafood was unfrozen and didn’t taste like real seafood. Parmesan was not aged at all, maybe it was just pizza cheese. Olive oil was some mixture of sunflower oil with a bit of olive oil. Menthe tea was good 😅. Gulyash also profoundly unspectacular, not fresh carrots etc. Re ambiance: without reservation they sit you between the noisy bar/kitchen area and the entrance, where it’s cold all the time. Usually I don’t bother writing bad reviews, but it was quite an annoying experience, especially given the price.
