I had an excellent time in the hostel, Edit at reception made sure all questions have been answered. Very helpful professional staff. Cleaning is regular, good equipped kitchen, beds in the room were comfortable sockets at every bed, toilet, bathroom were clean. WiFi reception was great all around the place. A brilliant feature the terrace with view to the river. Enjoyed to sitting there with my cup of coffee, even at afternoon with a beer talking to fellow travelers.

The best location in all of Budapest for tourists. Margaret island is very chill and fun and has good public transit connections to anywhere else in the city. The rooms are hot during the summer with only a pivot stand fan to help when you sleep. The terrace is a great hangout spot. Hostel cat is super chill.

I’ve been there one day ago. Everything was closed and we were looking for coffee. The lady that runs the hostel was so kind and told us that she can makes us a coffee if we want. So kind of her. The hostel is so unique, perfect design. Thank you dear lady you deserved 5 stars and I hope the summer season will see you again!

Chill hostel in a perfect location. I was in a 4 bed dorm with lockers and own bathroom. Everything was super clean, staff was friendly and helpful. A fully equipped kitchen and washing machine were available too. Definitly my favorite place to stay in Budapest.

I rarely write such positive reviews. In the case of Island Hostel, this is warranted. The place exceeded all my expectations. A stunning view of the Danube and the beautiful Pest-side buildings from the hostel's own terrace equipped with comfy sofas, an impeccably clean, modern dorm room, and bathroom with a separate toilet, a fully equipped kitchen, and a free-to-read book collection with a variety of both Hungarian and international literature if you prefer to combine a good read with observing the awakening of the city. Last but not least, the host made me feel like a Disney Princess. Thank you for this experience!"

the place is wonderful, but not without disadvantages. the veranda on the second floor is magnificent, it is wonderful to relax on it during the day and in the evening, the atmosphere is wonderful. The location is not very convenient, you need to leave the island to get somewhere in the city, but at the same time living in the middle of the river is romantic. The rooms were most disappointed, because of the heat I could not sleep half the night, there is a fan on the ceiling, but it does not help, but only makes noise. But considering the price per night, it's hard to get angry at the cons

I was staying there for 4 night and I really had a relaxing time in a beautiful island, they give me the Mario Bros bedroom😍 one of my favorite game of all the time... Somehow i was feeling at my own house... very nice, smiling and helpfull staff!!! For just an hostel i’ll give 6⭐️ Definitely gonna go back

I really really enjoyed staying at this hostel and loved it. For one, the lady running the place was great help and fun to chat with. The room and attached bathroom were very clean. The location itself also is enough to make the stay unforgettable as the island is gorgeously beautiful and peaceful. Also it is very central so everything is easily accessible. There is a bus that passes 1 min away from the hostel that leads outside the island but honestly i would rather walk and enjoy. Nice pub downstairs with a decent menu and a nice vibe that lasts well into the night. I couldn't enjoy the terrace too much because the weather was cold and gloomy but it has a great view and lots of places to sit and chill. Overall, highly recommended and will definitely book there the next time i go

It was quite clean and comfortable for a hostel. The host was incredibly sweet. Even though we only stayed one night, she was friendly. It had the most beautiful terrace I have ever seen in my life. If you want to experience a hostel environment and meet and chat with people, I can say it is for you. Also, since it is on the island, it has a calm atmosphere away from the city life, but it is also central and close to everywhere. I will stay longer when I come again. I recommend it to everyone.

One of the best hostels I've been in! Nice location on the island of Budapest with a cozy terras and good views! The host is amazing, helping you out with all of your questions or just making nice conversations and jokes. It's (luckily) not one of the party hostels, so you'll be able to sleep ;) however really easy to meet people and discover the city life together! Lots of activities can be booked through the reception as well! Will definitely come back here!

Amazing hostel! Surrounded by nature and views of the river. The staff (Edith I believe her name is) is so nice, she woke up and let me checkin at 1am late after my bus was delayed. She has an adorable cat which is also very well behaved and friendly. The facilities are good, every room had a bathroom and shower attached so no need to run around in the common area in the morning. It was a great place to explore Budapest with both the Buda and Pest side within walking distance. Of course bus could be taken too. Terrace was beautiful and very well maintained.

If you want to stay longer in Budapest (especially with more friends), this is definitely the best choice as the staff is very friendly, the accommodations are good and you have a big locker under the bed to put your valuables and other stuff in. The cat is also very cute and friendly and likes to be pet <3 there is no AC though and in the summer it definitely gets very hot, but they do have a fan so it's bearable. The location is on the island and there is public transportation very close (10 min ish by foot) and you can get pretty much anywhere in the city with 1-2 transfers.

A quiet little paradise in the middle of the Danube. The hostel is at a stone's throw from the heart of Budapest, but there's enough to do on the island to fill a day. The patio is enormous, the managers are very talkative and very helpful. Truly an amazing place.

One of the best hostels I've been to ! Located on an Island so the location is awesome and chill. It is not a party hostel so it is quiet at night. The staff are amazing, kind and funny people. Bianca and Edith were super friendly, helpful with all the questions I had about the city and transport, they are funny and generous! The hostel has a good and equipped kitchen with a fridge, stove, microwave and oven. There is also a washing machine. There is also a huge outdoor area that is connected with all of the rooms so it is very nice to eat, talk and just chill with others or by yourself out there. The rooms have lockers with locks and every bedside has outlets and shelfs for your stuff, which is convenient. They have a cat !

Great Atmosphere Summer Vibe Hostel On The River. What a great escape from life downtown. A very chilled place with a huge terrace looking onto the river. Hammocks, couches, sunbeds, many tables and chairs. The staff are super friendly, the beds are sturdy and everything is cleaned everyday. And then of course there's the cat. There's a kitchen too in case you're on a budget but if you want to just relax there's a full bar and restaurant downstairs. Also next door there's an open air day club if you want to fully send it, which I'm sure will go off big time when the warmer days arrive. Love this place. I shall be back.

An amazing place at the most beautiful location in Budapest. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Bianca at the desk is very polite and approachable. We stayed for 3 days and it was very comfortable. Kitchen and Room are very well maintained, an excellent wifi. Lilly the boss cat is awesomely cute. Musical fountain is just hardly 300 metres away making the location more vibrant, lot of eateries and pubs around.

It is the most beautiful location you can think of in Central Budapest. It has a nice kitchen and a great terrace. Staff is really friendly. The place is remarkably quiet and relaxed. Wifi connection ws great, too.

This place has everything that you would normally expect from a hostel. The place is clean, the kitchen is well equipped, the staff is friendly. What makes it so unique is its location, and the big (and I mean really big) terrace overlooking the Danube. You can relax on the sofas or the hammocks in the shades or enjoy the sunlight sitting at the tables, surrounded by the trees of Margaret Island and the flowers (in all seasons!) in the pots all around the terrace. Whether you want to stay for one night only or use this as your base camp to discover what Budapest has to offer on both sides of the Danube, I highly recommend this hostel.

It is the best hostel, I've ever stayed not only just in Budapest, but through Europe.The price, the service, the location, everything was on an excellent level. The hostel was with full necessary staffs for guests. It was clean, comfortable and the most important it was safe and location was near to center.

Stayed here for 4 nights and now I have found it ain't enough! The staff, Edith, was very friendly and thoughtful, arranged transport when I arrived around midnight, and suggested the best way to go to the airport on my last day as well. The hostel itself is located on the island, while it means I have to walk a lot, the view is absolutely worth it! and the view from the balcony or terrace too! Plus, even though I was just staying in a dorm, the cleanliness is not an issue at all, the toilet and bathroom were always clean. Revisiting Budapest in my mind, and staying here will definitely my choice!

Our host was great with her security guard “Lily” the cat. Our private room had everything we needed. Was quiet and relaxing. Great atmosphere and views from the balcony of the Danube river. I have been here two times already and I'm definitely planning on coming back! Something about staying on such a green Island in the middle of the city feels very luxurious. The hostel itself is great, it has a homeliness feeling and facilities beyond the regular budget hostel. The walls are beautifully painted and the rooms have a lot of space. Big locker with padlock is included!! Everything was clean. What more could you need. A cat maybe. They have that too.

Lovely room. Amazing location. We stayed in the private room. It was very clean with a really comfy bed. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. It was great that there is a bar underneath and the city is so close. I recommend this hostel to anybody who wants to visit Budapest.

Very nice hostel with a huge terrace overlooking the Danube. It's surrounded by bars, but those all close between 10pm and 11pm even in the weekend, so it was surprisingly quiet. Probably better suited for groups than for solo travellers. Very good shower.

A very nice stay over here. The hostel was always clean and was located in a really good location. Other tenants in the hostel were friendly and nice. The view of the river and the parliament building from the patio was beautiful. Definitely recommend a stay here.

The location is very exceptional, There is a terrace with an amazing view over the river and the city. Mrs.Edith who checked me in was very friendly and helped me out a lot during my stay. The room is clean, beds are comfortable. There is a kitchen, fully occupied where you can cook and socialise with other guests, or play xbox. Over all I am very glad I have found this place. Definitely coming back!

My stay was just one of the best memorable experiences... The hostel was located in the middle of the city, close to every well known spot, it was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, and also each bed has a locker with a key, most of the time the room is calm and well air-conditioned, super friendly people, you only need 5 minutes to make friends and 10 other minutes to go out and discover the city with them if you are traveling solo. the staff from island hostel was really kind! I always felt really welcome in this hostel. Especially the bathroom was really clean, never had this in other hostels before. I can recommend this place and if I´ll ever come back to Budapest, I´ll go to the Island Hostel!

Very pleasant place. the staff is very friendly. Bar-restaurant just below is good and very practical. I slept on a very comfortable mattress, the shower is good. There are several bus stops on the island, which makes everything easier. Besides, the island is a little haven of peace. I recommend this hotel.

If I know the hostel is this good, I'll extend my stay for a few more nights. The room and the bathroom is very clean, the location is beautiful near the river, just open the other side door of the room and you will have a balcony overlooking the river. The staff is exceptionally professional and friendly. You can put your luggage near the reception without any worries for safety as there's CCTV. A washing machine is available as well. Perfect stay for solo travelers or groups.

I stayed at three different hostel in Budapest and one was a party hostel another was commercial one and third one was island hostel. Island hostel is a really good hostel for those who wants to enjoy peace or me time. All the people working there were really good and helpful sadly I forgot their names but they were amazing they also have 16 year old cat name lily who is very friendly. So overall it was a good experience and would visit again

The island is a really beautiful place to visit in Budapest! I really appreciate the hospitality of the host. She helped me a lot with booking and rebooking my shuttle bus to the airport, and was so kind and friendly. I liked that even on Saturday evening it wasn't noisy and crowded, at least I didn't notice. The bathroom and toilet are in the room, so it is no need to walk outside the room. The room wasn't comfortable for me. There's not so much privacy, because of the type of beds, everything is in public view. It was hot and had no fresh air somehow. And I didn't like my bed just near the bathroom door. I couldn't find where to put my outside clothes, because there were no hangers for that. Be careful, if your flight is in the early morning, the shuttle bus to the airport is not coming to the hostel, and you need to walk some distance to reach it.

Very nice place, with a balcony right above the Danube river and friendly and mostly very helpful hosts! They were relaxed and helped me and my friends a lot during some unexpected problems we had with the rest of our journey! I would stay there again!

The lady at reception is very kind and friendly: 30.10.2021 I came to hostel to rent the bicycle, but too late at the evening, when this service was not available. She adviced me where to rent the bycicle via application, offered to use their wi-fi, take a seat at the kitchen sofa, drink some tea while installing the application. I was impressed by her kindness and hospitality. Thank you, dear! I'm sure the guests feel good and cosy at this hostel.

The hostel is in the middle of a park and the park is on an island. The staff is very helpful and friendly which makes the experience even better.

The place itself is situated in the beautiful Margaret island. The staff is welcoming, the rooms&toilets are clean.. There are lot of facilities fully stuffed kitchen, washing machine and etc... The mood of this place is a quaint, calm & friendly if that's what you're looking for than this place is for you.

The staff is so kind and friendly, this hostel is cheap but clean and funny. You can meet many different people, mainly travelers and great converations easily arise. It's a quiet place, Silence is respected after 10 p.m.

This was a lovely spot just a little bit outside the centre of Budapest. The rooms here in this hostel are comfortable and cozy. The beds were amazingly nice too. I slept like a baby. In the mornings I could lounge around the balcony and hang out on a hammock.

Island Hostel Budapest is a very charming place, ideally located on Margit Island which is an amazing place to relax and visit. The comfy terrace oversees the Danube River, it's really quite a dream ! The staff was very helpful and profesional, always attentive to customer requests. The rooms are nice, nothing spectacular here. Bed and murals could need a bit of refreshing but it's completely serviceable. There are kitchen, bathrooms and couches available for guests. A very complete hostel in a sensational environment.

Great location with huge communal balcony. Plenty of nearby food and drink venues. Roughly 15 minute picturesque walk to the centre. Can use the communal kitchen which is clean and tidy. Also able to purchase snacks and drinks from reception. We stayed in the dorms, bunk beds are comfortable. Cleaned daily. Staff are friendly. Bargain price. Would stay here again.

Very nice location on the beautiful Margaret island. The hostel also has a huge terrace which we really enjoyed. There is also a wel equipped kitchen. The staff was also friendly. We stayed in a 8-bed dorm and didn’t like that there was only a bathroom in the rooms themselves. There also only was 1 toilet and 1 shower which was soaking wet all the time because the other guests didn’t clean after they showered. Maybe the hostel could provide a towel or find another solution for this. Overall we had a pleasant stay!

21st august 2022 I can truly say it's one of the nicest hostels I've ever been to, the staff are so lovely and accommodating and they are really here to help. The rooms are really clean and so are the bath rooms, and the communal area is very relaxing. It's very peaceful and relaxed and would recommend to anyone visiting the city.

I had a great 3 day stay in this hostel. The receptionist and the staffs are really cool and they will let you know everything about the city so that you as a tourist will have a great experience in Budapest. Thank you so much for making the experience awesome.

Amazing room! Super clean, colorful, warm and pretty (it even had Super Mario decors!). The girl at the reception was really nice to wait for us since we delayed and had to do a late check-in. Everything was perfect and we had a great time! Super recommend 👌 🥰

Great location. I only spent one night here so far, but I like it. Staff is very friendly, the place is clean, surrounded by a beautiful park and the Danube. I hardly had a chance to explore the island but look forward to it.

The lady being friendly and very talkative resulted in a very friendly room aswell. She even provided ear plugs. Great hostel, very comfortable and clean. The location is not ideal. But if you don't have an issue with a bit of walking, it's amazing.

I stayed in the Island Hostel for two nights. The location is absolutely perfect. I don't think you can get any better than that in Budapest. Central, short access to both part's of the city, and still surrounded with calming nature. Rooms are nice and clean and the terrace is beautiful. The staff was also very kind but in this category it is only 4 stars from me, because they seemed to be a little bit to needy for reviews. I understand that it can be hard in times with fewer customers, but you have a nice hostel. Stay positive and abundant and you will be successful. Thank you for the experience, I will probably come back in the future.
