It's a very cozy and cute cafe with tons of books. If you are a book lover, this is a must visit place in Budapest. I ordered matcha latte at 800 ft which is good and tasty. They have good Wi-Fi and outlets for charging your laptop etc. For digital nomad, I can recommend this cafe as well. They have some snacks and cakes too.

Lovely cafe/working space with a warm atmosphere. I had to work for a few hours during my stay in Budapest and this place was an absolute gem. They have a wide selection of used books, could have spent hours browsing them. Highly recommend.

This is a safe haven in this busy part of the city. Everytime I visit I feel like I’m in a movie or some sort of modern fairy tale. Great atmosphere, a truly magical little garden that’s open when the weather allows, and a huge variety of amazing books to buy and start reading right away with your coffee. They also host many kinds of cultural events.

Cafes and books shouldn’t mix. Because I would then spend all my time and money there. Delicious coffee in a really cozy book store. Barista/shopkeeper was nice. They have a refreshing courtyard too. Some titles in English and common European languages. Mostly in Hungarian. They also sell some souvenirs/items like beautiful notebooks.

A very nice place to have a coffee, hangout and read books. The cafe is really nice and unique. It offers some good selections of coffees and books too! A lot of books in English can be found here including some other languages. The price is somewhat okay for me. It’s a nice place to do your work as well. The staff are friendly.

Quaint and cosy bookstore that serves coffee. The true dream of any book aficionado. It has a good collection of books and offers a quiet and tranquil ambience to relax. Highly recommend, even if it’s just for a pop in.

A lovely cafe, with a sister establishment in Krakow. The name comes of course from Bulgakov’s Master and Margarita. The vibe is that of an old bookshop, where you can take your time, sip your chai latte and read or work. A Center European cafe that’s just what you expect it to be, especially with so many other bars in Busapest sticking aggressive “No Laptop” stickers on tables. Staff at Massolit are lovely and helpful. Large choice of books in English. Small garden.

Wish I could have stayed longer. Very reasonable prices for everything and such a unique and cozy interior. The peanut butter cookie was a bit dry but I loved the vibe of the place.

A cute, warm, cozy little bookstore and cafe. It was nice to sip on some hot cocoa in here on a cold day. There are a variety of books to read from. The wooden book shelves, tables, and chairs make it feel like you are in an old school bookstore. Mostly a bunch of students with laptops in there, but still quite quiet. The staff is friendly. The hot cocoa was okay (a bit bitter and unsweetened, but they have sugar that you can use). All in all, it was nice to see this type of bookstore still exists in the world.

Lovely staff and great atmosphere! Coffee wasn't bad either :) and there was plant-based milk available. Also the books! And there is a little terrace outside with really old chairs. Unfortunately they don't bring you your order just yell that it's ready for you to pick up. Do you can hear when each and every order is ready. Otherwise peaceful and vintage.

The coffees are really good and they have a huge collection of books in English. I loved the place looking half like a cafe, half like a house library. You can buy some really cheap books to read while there and they have many tables inside or at their garden where you can get lost in the stories you choose, or your work.

Book & coffee, what could be better☺️ I enjoyed a cup of Rooibos Vanilla tea, a vegan bolognese pie and browsed the shelves for a book. Simple yet fun way to spend my morning

Massolit was a beautiful surprise. They’re a bookstore/coffee and tea place. You’ll find a good selection of new and used books in English - they’ve also got books about Hungary/Judaism in English. Sit down, have some coffee and browse their shelves. Really cool place and good coffee.

My fav spot in the neighborhood. I used to come here to work and study a couple of times a week. I’m totally in love with the unique rustic vibe here. Coffee is amazing and staff is always friendly and welcoming.

This cute little cafe and bookstore is a must stop for any booklover visiting Budapest. They had tons of books in English as well as some cute souvenirs like postcards and notebooks. The coffee was great and the homemade treats were incredible!

The venue is great, prices are reasonable, free wifi connection, lovely staff, it is a great option to study and work! Only downsides are; coffee (even cappuccino) comes in smaller cups than expected, and the chairs squeak. Overall an easy 4.2/5

The café is cute and cozy, the prices are usual. Their coffee is delicious, the cakes are worth trying too. I expected to read while being there, but you have to purchase a book in order to read it, which wasn't convenient for my traveling self, but if you are looking for a useful souvenir or sustainable gift, definitely give it a go! There are a huge selection of English books as well😄

One of the best bookstore/coffee places I’ve been. Vintage style inside. Full of books, some of them new but mainly second-hand ones. Great coffee and service as well. A must-visit for bookstore lovers in case you find yourself in Budapest!

this place is a gem, I think it reflects the overall vibe of Budapest - cozy, hipster with an old / retro soul you feel super cozy, the workers are awesome, and there are lots of books around to check out I wish they had more food selection other than sweets also wifi is not working with all laptops so you might not be able to connect to the internet - although connecting with phone worked putting 5 stars even when I was not able to work due to the wifi issue mentioned above - thats how much I liked the vibe

one of the greatest place in Budapest if you’re looking for somewhere to rest and dive into your book with a cup of tea. not crowded, calm and quiet, with many nice people

  • 3/5 Runa S. 9 months ago on Google
This place would get 5/5 if it weren’t for the overpriced, underwhelming drink options. I had a tea the first time, my partner a mint iced tea. The latter was a literal peppermint tea bag and ice. The second time I tried their cucumber lemonade: sparkling water and shredded cucumber was the result. At this point, I have probably spent 15$ in there because I enjoy the space. There has got to be a way that the establishment comes up with enjoyable things to order. That being sad: the place is gorgeous. English books, an outside area that’s peaceful and quiet. It‘s lovely! Staff are also very nice. Please please just update that menu 🙏

✨️A sanctuary for digital nomads, students, book lovers, and cafe goers. A quaint store that seems to offer all people who seek quietness a home. ✨️ It is a really cute place that is surrounded by books all around and an amazing collection of Hungarian authors ranging from culinary, fiction, bibliography, and more. They are open to people working and studying here, which is a nice change up to other cafes in the city. If you're into books, I'd suggest getting a cortado and roaming around the bookstore to find something that suits your taste. You'll be bound to find something and even learn something new about Budapest and Hungary in their well curated local author section. They also have books ranging from economics, Slavic history, to life sciences. If you come on a good weathered day, their hidden garden in the very back offers a nice retreat.

The staff was kind, coffee tasty, although not mindblowing, but the prices are quite pleasing. I would definitely come back for the atmosphere though. There is a very calm and laid back garden in the back, which is in my opinion the major appeal of this place. Organic and relaxing vibes. The good kind of hipster cafés, really not uptight or pretentious, in fact quite the opposite.

Very cute cafe in the heart of the city. The staff are always smiley and the atmosphere is safe and cozy. It’s perfect to work, read, or relax with friends. There is a wide selection of books, mostly english, which can be purchased at the counter. At times it can get quite crowded, but I’ve never had an issue finding a seat. The outside garden is beautiful in the summer with its fig trees and animal life.

Wow wow wow! What an atmosphere! A quaint and cozy cafe with a lot of books! Lots and lots of new as well as old books which you can buy at a very reasonable rate! Some of the old collection just cost below 1000 forints🙂Coffee was also really good. A place where you can sit and read or work peacefully with a cup of coffee on a cold rainy day! They also have a seating area in the garden at the back of the cafe which looked charming!❤️

The place is cute, is vintage, if you like a place like this is very good! Is different than most coffes i ever seen, but about the service i didnt like, i dont know if people have some racism about Brazilian or something like that. but it was the first time I experienced a service where I felt so neglected in budapest, I bought two coffees and she didn't even tell me the value of my purchase when I went to pay and when I asked her to speak a little more slowly she looked at me with disdain, like , "what do you mean speak more slowly?" even listening to my native language I have some difficulties in understanding, it's ok to ask to speak slower sometimes. Mainly because it is in front of a hostel, I see that there is a importance in serving people of different ethnicities. Well, if I pay for my coffee, my money is the same as that of any European millionaire.

Such a great little treasure in the middle of the party area in the city. Hard to spot, but once you enter, you find yourself between thousands of books that you can read while sipping on your delicious coffee. Hands down one of the best cafes in Budapest

A hidden gem in the heart of Budapest, though not so hidden anymore since it is widely appreciated by the visitors and comes in top searches for coffee and books cafe in the city.. my fiancé loves it and comes almost twice a week and I I visiting only second time in two years now... it has the rustic appeal with all the good coffees and plenty of books to settlemdown even for long hours.. staff is the definition of politeness and friendly... and no place better for a relaxed laid back afternoon with all these combinations. 🤩😊😇🥰

A cozy bookstore with an amazing selection of books. Here you can find English language translations of Hungarian literature, which has opened my eyes to many talented and unique authors. The staff are very helpful and always willing to give great recommendations!

Superlative location for all the best things in life: books, coffee, art and a garden patio. This is the perfect peaceful, cozy place to meet friends or work on your own novel. Great vintage vibe and friendly staff. What I want to know is, who the hell gave this place one star? How is that even possible? Were they expecting a disco?

A truly special place! Cute books in all kind of languages, cozy vintage atmosphere and good coffee, I have to say I felt in love! You can also go there to study and work a bit (you'll habe to pay 500 HUF/ hour though)

A unique experience of a quite bookstore filled with books of all kinds. Small tables in private corners to read the book you just bought, with a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. A small garden at the back is the best for a sunny day.

A cozy hipster bookstore, where you can purchase second books and enjoy a cup of Joe and cakes. The coffees are good quality and the staff can speak English and friendly. Recommend the cafe, if you wanna chill and read in peace.
