The ride was really lame. We went into the danube for 10 minutes near the island and then just did circles in the water while they were telling stories about the island. We did not see any of Budapests historic buildings from the water. In addition to that, it was dripping inside from the ceiling because it was raining outside. Wouldn't recommend at all.

As an idea, it's cool. Eventually, you are in a bus, it goes inside the water. The explanations can be in several languages but none of them is interesting enough to hear, so basically you just ride a bit and head back.

The most expensive attraction in Budapest. For those who take the red or green bus, the long trip is really unnecessary. For tourists watching from the outside it looks cool, for bus passengers a nightmare. It's hot, the air conditioner barely cools, lots of traffic jams. While sailing you can die of boredom, like a rowing boat. In fact, if the bus had gone down and the water had reached the level of the windows like a mini-submarine, then it could be said that it was worth it. Really disappointing.

Our 8 year old was excited and came to board before the previous round finished getting off the bus, so a bus crew member grabbed him by the arm and it was a fine line between preventing him from getting on and pulling him off the bus. I immediately yelled at him not to touch my child and if there was a problem my boy created he should talk to me and only me. I expect in such an attraction, that the crew members will show much more restraint and patience, especially for the younger target audience. As if this bad experience wasn't enough for us to open the ride, there is no air-condition. 50 min for the short ride, 1.5 hours for the long ride ... both are way to much without air-condition. The sailing itself was slow to the point of tiring and burdensome. Yes, it was nice while the bus went down to the river and boarded back up but that's it... That's where the thrill comes down to.

We really liked it with teenagers. We had the short tour, 10am, except Thursday, there is nothing. Tour through the city is the same as the long tour, only the journey in the Danube is 20 minutes on the short tour. at the long 50min. The Danube trip went along the Margaretheninsrl for a bit, then back to the entrance point. That was enough. You drive through the city past all the sights, with an audio guide on the bus at every place. Simply set the language

Had to contact service because of an error and were immediately given very competent advice in English. The trip was very informative and something new. The tour guide was also very competent and explained everything in German, English and Hungarian on an extra channel that you could select.

Unfortunately the drive was 15 min shorter that we booked. As well did the audio guide not suit the places we passed. So we heard random facts while passing other sights. Half of the audio guide was interrupted and just stopped out of a sudden. The water part was kinda fun.

(Translated by Google) Run away while you can, you might as well throw your money out the window (or burn it is more fun) ... We had to book in advance to be sure that our group of four was not separated, alas, you will have understood it, as soon as we are in the bus we are each put on the opposite side next to someone we do not know (in full covid period). Normally there is a headset for the audio guide per seat but on mine there is none, on my colleague's it does not work ... Also the tour is ridiculous, we don't even stop for 1 second in front of the monuments, we only do a tour on ourselves once in the water (in a place of no interest). In short, another place where tourists are taken for idiots.

If your thing is ride in a bus which also floats, then ok. Otherwise do not expect a lot of from sightseeing (short tour) - even river part is only small round on the river and not even close to some famous buildings.

Wow, I cannot recommend this to anyone. Overpriced scam of an experience. The company makes you meet them all the way downtown, and based on the location and their information online, you believe you will see this specific scenic area on the Danube where you're asked to meet. The pictures online appear to show the boat/bus passing the Parliament building and other sights of interest, but this is NOT true. Instead, they spend more than half of the tour driving through traffic as far away from the river as possible (we ended up near city park, then turning around) and finding the least scenic spot on the river POSSIBLE (side of Margret island, you can't see anything but embankment of grass and brown water) then spending a few minutes driving back and forth along the non-visible coast of 1/6 of the island, then back through traffic. They give you an 'audio tour' on the first half of your drive through traffic, which has nothing to do with the river or anything involving the experience , just "look, there's hero square, there's terror museum". RiverRide, WHY require everyone to meet downtown, if you're just going to drive them to hero square and a blank river line? Why not just have everyone meet in the museum quarter that you make us drove through anyway? I can only assume it's because the traffic (you're in traffic for over 35 minutes of a 50 minute tour!!) is actually the main part of the tour, and people would be upset if you charged them 15-35 euro for a 10 minute float with no scenery. A costly and unfortunate lesson to learn about an underwhelming experience. Be warned - bait and switch.

Very good tour to see important sights in Budapest. Excellent views of Parliament from the Danube River. Staff was very friendly and tour quide speaks several languages including German and English. The only minor issue was the automatic speech guidance. It is based on GPS location of bus so sometimes it would cut off and start the next portion if you reached that point before finishing the previous location description. However, you can listen to it in numerous languages such as English, German, Hebrew, French and Polish to name a few. Very good tour and well suited for families.

An unique experience in Budapest city. I recommend to buy tickets online because it can be fully booked by the time you arrive at the departing point. As a minus I want to mention that child is bellow 6 years old and is not specified on the web site.

After application and registration, you can book a bus and/or an appointment, then go sightseeing or sightseeing on an agreed tour route, accompanied by a tour guide. Worth to try.

I really liked it and booked the long tour. The entry into the Danube is really great. The voice guidance is also very interesting. A unique experience. When I'm in Budapest I'll come back. I booked it directly through the site. One point deducted because no confirmation email was received. Otherwise everything was fine

Small trip due to weather, still 4* The staff on the bus were super nice but the lady who got on (the ticket lady) was strangely unfriendly

  • 3/5 Maxim R. 3 months ago on Google • 49 reviews New
An interesting experience, which was unfortunately disrupted by constant disruptions, chopping and hissing in the audio guide. The trip on the Danube itself took less than 20 minutes and there were hardly any sights visited on the water. The entire trip only took 50 minutes (instead of 1.5 hours as the description said). Therefore, in my opinion, it can only be recommended to a limited extent.

Nice but not worth the price In the water the bus travels very slowly and hardly moves You can do the open bus and take a boat in the river in the evening much more profitable

Shared opinion on the experience Fun idea from the road and water side, but ultimately a little disappointed because you can't fully enjoy the view. Impossible to move from his seat and photo through the window of the bus, because there is no outside On the other hand, interesting information about the places we see A little expensive for the experience

Unique experience. You should definitely do it when you are here. The trip on the Danube is quite short and you don't see much of the sights. But the experience is cool. Also, it's a bit too expensive (in my opinion). 2 students 2x22€ 1 baby (8 months) 5€

We had an excursion on March 15th. Due to the fact that there was a holiday in the city, the excursion lasted 50 minutes, we did not pass by the sights, and there was no excursion. We just went into the water on a bus, swam around in a residential area and came back. Just a waste of money and time. The ticket price for that day was full. I’m not sure that the excursion is different on ordinary days, so I wouldn’t recommend this entertainment at all. Walk around and you will see more.

It's a perfect experience to get a special ride :) The longer tour is better to get a vity overview from the Danube, as the short tour is not crossing exactly in front of Parliament.

  • 1/5 Mina M. 2 years ago on Google
That was the worst experience I've ever had. 1.5 hour tour, around 1 hour in the river with poor explanation of the monuments around and the entrance to the river was so far from the monuments and with the speed of this floating bus you can imagine how much you'll stay in the bus for returning. They sold thicket to us and there wasn't any free seat to sit and when I told them there is no seat, the driver didn't pay attention to us at all. If I were you, I will never try this, you can have a cruise instead with a cheaper price, as the city tour was soooo little and useless!

We was coming from Romania for one day bus tour around the Budapest city's landmarks. Tree guides who know how to make the atmosphere and at the same time to explain to us about all the historical places we have visited. Very friendly and fantastic history knowledge. I recommend this trip with pleasure.

Fun on paper, damn boring and stifling in real life. Too bad it's not an open roof bus because from our seats we can't see much apart from the heads of those who were lucky enough to be on the window side.... Not allowed to get up, so we wait patiently for the end of this endless journey.... Too bad because the explanations are rather nice and interesting, and the moment of the dive is rather funny. I advise you to prefer a classic cruise

Perfect idea for rainy days. For the rest, it is a nice idea and interesting experience to ride with a boat and ship with a bus!! Nice ambient music, very good explanations from the guide, expensive language options from audio reconding...however, I missed the real boat and having some fresh air in the river (and nicer pictures without the window in the middle!!)

  • 5/5 Christina K. 1 year ago on Google
I enjoyed this ride a lot! The kids with us also had a great time. I found it surprising how effortless it seemed to be for this vehicle to transition from land to water and back. The tour route includes a beautiful part of the city and of the Danube. The inside of the bus was comfortable enough and the windows provided a good view. The recorded audio guide material had many interesting parts and I also liked the choice of music for the different themes although the overall content of the audio tour could be improved to be more informative. The bus stop was easy to find.

Hmm keeping in mind that it’s the only one amphibia in closest countries it’s a good excursion to go , especially with children. They were impressed, and I was impressed when my toddler was listening the history of Budapest on her earphones. The Bus is quit old inside , but looks safe)

28 July 2022 2pm Not much to say, the ride is awesome, that feeling when the bus gets in the water is unique. The bus has headsets for every seat, and you can hear the guide in 10 languages. It's a pre-recorded guide. The air conditioning is not big or good enough for that big bus, it blows air on the roof of the bus, no air gets to the seats, at least not at the end of the bus, but it was bareable. Make sure you check the website for the schedule and prices. 9000ft/person at this time for the full ride. It took 1 hours and 10 minutes. Payment: website with card, but I don't know if you can use a credit card to get a ticket right there at the bus.

  • 2/5 Hans van G. 2 years ago on Google
We took the small tour and it's not recommendable: Short ride through the city with audio guide, after that a very short ride on the river without commentary and that's about it. All in all the tour is very basic, but the experience of driving into the water directly was nice. Anyhow it's def not worth the 15€... Maybe the bigger tour is better?!

  • 3/5 Vasiliniuc A. 2 years ago on Google
It was nice, a funny experience for the children, especially the campus splash, that it's not really a splash, but if You really want to know more about history, culture, monuments, You should know that the guide was sitting on the chair and said almost nothing. She was laughing with the driver and scrolling on her phone. For 25 euro/person I would like to know more about the history, builidings, etc The recorded guide was also very poor in informations...

  • 5/5 Catalin P. 1 year ago on Google
I went there with my son and wife and we enjoyed a lot the trip. We bought the tickets online and the onboarding went smoothly, the staff were very nice and kind. The ride felt right from the time point of view the hour an a half was mostly full of translated stories about the places we went by. It is also awesome to be driven on the road and next thing you are in the water 🌊💦 :D

  • 1/5 Shirly B. 1 year ago on Google
Very expensive, but you get just a very ordinary ture bus and a very ordinary boat ride. The guided audio was very short and simple. The windows are closed so you can't enjoy the view and it very hot.. A regular tour bus and boat ride are much more recommended

  • 5/5 Radu R. 1 year ago on Google
If you want to do something different this is far better than a classic river cruise. The bus is not so fast on water but its a nice trip around the city . Recommended

  • 3/5 Okan B. 1 year ago on Google
We already had a 48 hours hop on hop off tour behind us. Then we bumped into this company and thought it would be interesting for our kids to experience an amphibian bus tour. The thing is that we literally had a déjà vu especially in the first part. Maybe we should have asked before buying tickets. Anyways, the tour was ok and the part in the water could, to my taste, created a bit more special for example getting in the water on the Pest side and getting off on the Buda side. All in all an ok experience for our kids.

  • 3/5 Yoni G. 1 year ago on Google
We took the shorter route. The experience of getting into the water with the bus is exciting (especially for the kids), but the route inside the river is very short and you dont see the most beautiful parts of the city from there (only the parlament). The cost is much higher than taking a boat that is doing longer route inside the river.

  • 1/5 occasional t. 9 months ago on Google
Paid for 90 minutes but got 70. Getting on the bus was chaotic with people rushing and cutting in. Once on the bus, good luck finding a seat. All the window seats were taken or saved by somebody. One lady saved 3 seats for her friends who didn’t even show up til minutes later. Don’t bother asking the tour operator for help. She just sat our family of 5 scattered around. AC was also unevenly distributed. I was sweating profusely sitting in the back row. Live commentary from the guide was barely audible, even less when boat motor started roaring. Save your money and do the 60 minute tour or pick a day without the crowd

  • 1/5 George I. 3 months ago on Google New
Unfortunately we had this travesty booked with our travel package to Budapest in December. We got on board of this bus, after waiting 30 minutes, which entered Danube river near the parliament building and exited after 50 meters. You couldn't see anything because the windows were foggy and the bus "guide" told us not very interesting information about the length of the building. It's practically a 15 minute ride in & out of the river where you don't get to see anything. It's a waste of time and money.

We did the short trip, that cost 4000 ft (near 12 euro) for adults and 3000 (near 10 euro) for children's, and actually I would expect more in the water. For me a bit delusional.

Very disappointed, the bus look old, they started on time but the promised 1 hour and 45 min trip last only 50 minutes, they did not take us by the Margrit Island, the audio is terrible, waste of money and time👎
