Had a great time on this tour!! An easy and fun way to see all of the main sights, and our tour guide (Adam) was wonderful and super funny! He also gave me great recommendations on what to do and where to eat while I’m here! Would highly recommend this!!

The walk through the jewish district with Edith was brilliant. I wish I had more time to take the other walking tours as well.

Rita was our tour guide, and she was absolutely fabulous! Provided a wealth of information, kept the pace, very well, was funny, delightful, and a great ambassador for Budapest! I hope you will be lucky enough to be on one of her tours.

In one day I have visited "Budapest Walk" and "Buda Castle Tour". On the first tour there's been quite many people and the group was divided into two groups with 2 different guides, very prepared! Well done! I had both tours with Dora "Explorer" :-), she was giving us plenty of different kind of information, loudly and with good sense of humor. Great tours overall, especially if you are visiting Budapest for few days, highly advised. Do not forget to tip as well.

Gary was an amazing tour guide who gave a wonderful run down of the history of Budapest. He also gave us some wonderful suggestions at the end of the tour, which have, so far, been amazing! Although it was snowing, we still had a decent crowd of around 12 which was good to see. These tours are a wonderful way to start your visit to a city, and this one in Budapest is no exception. Gary was fun, energetic, and knowledgeable; and I would recommend to anyone visiting Budapest.

Judith was a fabulous guide who was very knowledgeable about her city. The tour was just long enough and it was perfect for the first day to become familiar with landmarks. I loved !

We had a great tour of Budapest city with Sylvia as our guide. She had many great facts to tell and we really enjoyed! The tour went at a good pace as well especially given it was winter. Would highly recommend it! Good to do on the first day to get some tips for the rest of your stay.

I did the tour with Zoltan. The content of the tour was OK, but the way that Zoltan told them is very cringy. The tour was hard to listen for me because of all the cringy jokes and intonation. He also made several racist comments starting with „I don’t wanna be stereotyping but...”. Overall my suggestion is, if you land Zoltan’s group just switch the group and it will be fine.

We took 3 separate tours with this company and enjoyed each one greatly. The Pest tour was fun and informative and the Jewish quarter tour was very well done. The Buda Castle tour with Sarah was awesome! She has a great sense of humour and her explanations of the history were presented in an entertaining but informative manner. All three guides that we experienced were fantastic, the other guides that we met at the tour starts were always very helpful and kind as well. I would recommend this company for any of their tours!! Thank you guys for a great Budapest experience!

This is the best tour we have ever been in Europe. We are quite well travelled and have our standards. Gabriel gave us a very deep insight into the recent history of Hungary from political lessons of the latest Hungarian elections, to Hungary's reactions to the Ukrainian war. He was incredibly knowledgeable. His tour could be qualified for TED talk. This tour will not disappoint you.

We recommend at 100% and a huge thank you to our guide (the blond girl with blue eyes). Don't hesistate to start visiting Budapest with this free tour !

I attended yesterday to a walking tour held by this company. The walking tour was really great. I enjoyed and informed well during the tour. I think this walking tour is ideal for travelers that has limited time during their stay in Budapest. Special thanks to our tour guide Judit :)

Really good free walking tour. The guide was very energetic and enthusiastic! She pointed us to the key places in Budapest and shared a lot about the history and culture. It was really fun. What I found very interesting was that she shared not only facts but also her opinion, but making sure to distinguish between each when doing so. So on top of telling us historical facts and figures, she also shared how she perceived things as a local. I think that was really cool.

Myself and three friends (all over 50) were in Budapest staying for 4 nights. We did this walking tour on our first full day. Rita was our tour-guide and we all agreed she did a brilliant job. Her English was 1000% better than our Hungarian so we understood everything she told us. She was highly engaging, enthusiastic about her city and showed real depth of knowledge about the history of Budapest. The walk itself was not too onerous or fast paced, so it was easy to walk round. It included St Stephen’s Basilica & the Parliament building which are both impressive. She also gave us loads of hints and tips of other places to visit and food & drink to try, Palinka (60% proof!), Pottyos (chocolate covered cottage cheese) & Langos (a fried flat bread with a choice of toppings) to name a few. Great work Rita, you made the tour for us. 10 out of 10.

We took two separate tours. The Jewish quarter with Edith - fantastic and very informative and moving - would recommend. And the generic Budapest tour with Sophie, again, a great tour and very informative on our first visit to Budapest.

We really enjoyed this walking tour. We were led by Rita and she shared a wealth of knowledge and interesting information. She was attentive and thoughtful. Rita shared lots of recommendations and ideas. I highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Budapest for the first time. It will definitely help you get a lay of the land and orient yourself. Remember to bring cash to tip as it is a free tour.

I always look for a free walking tour when visiting a new city, and Budapest was no exception. It’s great to get familiar with a new city’s geography and history while still a big jet lagged! On my Free Budapest Walk, my tour guide was Judit, and she was excellent. She was friendly and funny and did a great job of sharing and teaching the very, very complicated history of Budapest and Hungary in a nutshell. Judit was happy to answer other questions I had about my time in Budapest about things like like the bath houses, public transportation, and she was interested in where I was from (Canada!) also. I really enjoyed chatting with her in between spots and I appreciated the special recommendations of food, restaurants, souvenirs, language, and other tips she shared with all of us at the end of the tour. What a great idea!

I went on a walking tour hosted by Valaria last week, and it was very educational and fun! She walked us through the important landmarks in the Pest side of Budapest, while taking us through the history of Hungary as as nation. I highly recommend this walking tour for people with limited time in this wonderful city, as you can take away a lot from it! Please note that tipping is only possible via cash, so make sure to carry some cash with you, as it definitely worth your time and money. A special shout out to Valaria, our guide, for doing a great job in explaining everything about Budapest in English and being very friendly with our group!

I went to Budapest in March 2020 and choosed to do 3 of the available tours: The Main Tour, the Comunism Walk, and the Jewish Tour. All of them were amazing and very informative, the guides were kind and answer all of our questions. In order, I have tours with Barbi, Ardor and Patricia, if my memory doesn't fail. I think that the differential between this company and others that do free walking tours is that all the guides were native hungarian, what makes them know so much more stuff about the history and do their jobs with so much more passion.

Took the city walking tour with Belazch (Goulash). Professional, knowledgeable and fun hostorical insight into Budapest including st Stephen's basilica, the chain bridge, the palace, fisherman's bastion.Ours was the last tour due to closure of Hungarian border for month of September. We wish the travel company a smooth and rapid return to a business in October.

We wanted to say huge thank you to Free Walkative Tours, especially Bolash, Edith and Petra. We took 4 (!) trips, evening walk, general walk, communism walk and Jewish quarters walks. All superb, interesting and unique! We want to say thank you for helping us understand Budapest and experience it from a local perspective. This is definitely the best way to get around if you are a first timer in Budapest! Thank you!

Went on the classic tour, our guide was Zoltan. One of the best walking tours I’ve been to! The tour took 2.5 hours. It includes most of the historic sites, from the Pest side to the Buda hills. Very informative and engaging. The company offers several other tours, including historical and fun tours like ruin pub tour. You pay what you like at the end of the tour. Our guide even provide transport info and suggestions to great food places. Pictures were both taken by our guide.

Fantastic experience, we took 3 tours with this company in total, 2 free ones: general tour and Jewish tour, also a paid pub crawl. All our guides are awesome! David, Petrisher (might wrongly spelled) and Andras, they are very knowledgeable and humorous, they took good care of the group and were very patient with every single question from us. Extremely happy and satisfied with these tours, highly recommended!!!!

(Translated by Google) We did two tours. A general city tour and one specifically tailored to the city's Jewish history. We really liked this interactive and informal format of exploring the city. There is no need to register in advance, the start time and place are announced on the website. It was a relatively mixed audience, both age-related and culturally. The local guides provided a great deal of useful knowledge in a compressed and lively manner, so that gradually a coherent overall picture emerged. What we also liked is the sensible order of visits to the sights. In between there were short breaks so that everyone could meet their needs. The guides themselves are mostly locals, very cultured and dynamic personalities who enjoy working with people and who care about the city. Since this concept of city management lives from individually definable "donations", one approaches rather without expectation what we would like to donate at least a certain amount of money. Highly recommended for people who are open-minded and like a relaxed atmosphere when exploring a new city!

(Translated by Google) The general tour is likable but not informative. Mostly recommendations for nice places from the locals. Last year I joined a tour of the Jewish Quarter, and it was great! I think it depends on which guide you fall for.

(Translated by Google) I've done three tours (General, Jewish Quarter, and Communism) and they were all three excellent. By visiting the general and the two special tours, you got a great overview of the history of the city and the country. There were also no questions that the guides couldn't have answered (even if they weren't directly related to the topic) The guides also manage to create a good and relaxed atmosphere in the group and not just "dictate" information!

(Translated by Google) The guide spoke very interestingly. We liked. And the main thing is very clear, all the words were clear. Tours in English are free, come and just smile and you will immediately be added to the list of the selected tour. The only minus we were in the winter and it was cooling, then already in the middle of the tour it was very cold, moreover they tell more about the story. I had to stand in one place for a long time. If you go, dress warmer. At the end of the tour we were taken to a local bar, where we could warm ourselves up, go to the toilet, ask the guide about the city for advice and if you want to leave a tip.

My wife and I went on this tour with the extremely friendly, fun, knowledgeable and historical Hordor. He was a pure pleasure and he gave us great ideas of places to go visit and eat at. We went to some of those places and it was well worth it. I hope that Hordor remembers the couple from Montreal Canada, because we sure remember him. I'll be back someday with some friends to introduce them to the beautiful Budapest.

(Translated by Google) Our guide Bolasz (goulash) offered a very entertaining, informative and entertaining tour of Budapest, and he was well understood even in the back row when there was traffic noise against the wind (there were really a lot of participants). I have participated in tours like this in several cities, all of them were really good. The best tour, however, was in Budapest. This was the highlight of my trip in Budapest. If I had more time, I would have done all of them! Had Gary for my highlights tour and Andor for my Jewish highlights tour. Both were amazing tours with much to learn and see. I wouldn't have discovered such things on my own. I'm glad I met locals who communicate well and are super nice and patient. I've been left scarred with some of the customer service encounters I've had at markets and restaurants. They are also very lax on the tips. A bag is used to collect and what everyone gives is discreet. These are high quality tours. Please tip accordingly. A coin or the smallest bill isn't appropriate....

Important: Due to maintenance work on the chain bridge for the next 2 years, the general budapest walking tour is divided in 2. Pest in the morning and Buda in the afternoon. Attached are pictures of the mainstops in the tour. Thank you Gary. You were very nice and answered all my questions. A fantastic intro to the city. A small tip - I felt like you underestimate your city and your culture. Be proud! Reshape history a bit if needed (actually put on a smirky face to show you are playful). For example, you guys invented the Kyourtosh and the Polish stole it from you😄😄

We went for the Buda tour, Castle District tour, and Jewish quarter tour. All tours were really excellent - guides were very informative, engaging, and clearly knew a lot about the city and its history. They were also very helpful in giving recommendations and suggestions about visiting Budapest without prompting - e.g. we visited on Easter weekend and the Buda tour guide gave lots of suggestions on what we could do since many things were closed. The guides also showed many interesting things that you would likely miss without a tour e.g. street art and little sculptures all over the city. The tours also provided very useful maps and tip pamphlets on what to do / see / eat / drink. Really well-organised tours and a must-do for first time visitors to Budapest!

We had a very limited time to explore the city and the best way to see almost everything is through the walking tours. We did the Budapest walking tour as well as the Castle tour and they were both great! Andy and Gary were very passionate and gave us an entertaining synopsis of the Hungarian history while walking through the city. I would definitely recommend the tour to anyone visiting Budapest!

The tour around Budapest is a must do during your stay in the city. Our guide Edith is one of the best guides I ever had. I suggest you to do it in your first days, because she gives many clues to visit the city. Also, I really suggest to go more deep in the knowledge of the city with the Jewish or the Communism tours. Thank you!!

I did the Budapest walking tour with Eudith in the morning and the Buda Castle tour with Andy in the evening and they were both super great!!! 💯 I absolutely recommend both tours, it's very obvious they love their country and eager to share it's history with visitors. They remain very unbiased and honest about it's facts & history, which is really great and I highly respect their honesty. ..... Did I mention they they're funny and make 2hrs go really quickly. Thank you both 😊

Our guide Rita provided an amazing local based tour with lots of fun facts. Lots of recommendations including places to eat which we utilised and thoroughly enjoyed. We have been doing these free walking tours all over Europe and can not highly recommend them enough.

My friend and I did the Free Jewish District Tour of Budapest with the fabulous guide Edith. It was one of the most moving and fascinating walking tours we have ever done. The tour was extremely informative and comprehensive. But it was more than an intellectual learning experience. Edith spoke from the heart, including some of her personal links to the subject, making the tour deeply moving and personal. She brought us to places and told us stories that we would never have encountered on our own. Needless to say -- we highly recommend this tour!

Loved this tour, it gave us a great introduction to the city and its main attractions. Our guide, Rita, was very enthusiastic and shared her own personal stories, tips and recommendations as well. Would recommend this to be done on the first day of your visit.

We went on a tour with Geri (and his dog) last week. It was really interesting and a brilliant way to start our visit to Budapest and get a feeling for the city, its shape and history and people. Geri was an awesome guide, lots of info, kept us engaged and with some personal touches too - we did go and find your favourite chocolate bar, yum, thank you.

The group was pretty large but that dient turn out to be a problem at all. Judith handled it all just fine, spoke very eloquently and lively about Budapest's and Hungary's past. Highly recommended.

Amazing tours! I did 3. The city itself has a really interesting history and the guides explained it perfectly, with some funny stories and curiosities so it wasn’t boring. My guides were Judith and Gary, both really good and easily comprehensible. Support these independent tours!!

We took part in the Free Budapest Walk and we were very satisfied with it. It was an excellent introduction to the city and to the history of Hungary, which gave us a better orientation also for the following days of our holiday. Balázs was an engaging guide and his English was perfect.
