Not worth it, We tried bus tours in different cities and went all right. This one has quiet high price about 25€ for 1 line only. Whole ride takes 1.45 minutes so I don't think that's reasonable price for 25€....buses were extremely packed it was hard to find any seats on upper deck and lower deck didn't have good view. Buses weren't so frequent as in other cities I tried. There was a 1h cruise included along Danube, it had some interesting historical facts but again it was packed. If I had to choose again I would rather buy 24h ticket for local transport which is 5.5€ and they run more frequently without headphones and guiding but reaches all historical sites, Budapest has very good transport links. Or rather getting the budapest 24h card which had 2 guided walks included and then you won't need hopon hopoff bus 😉😊

This was our best decision in town. Without getting on the Big Bus we would not have seen or enjoyed the city. While the bus ride was wonderful, no doubt, even better and perhaps the best part of it were the two cruises on the Danube that we took - one before sunset and the other after sundown. Whenever short of time in a new city, the best bet of the newcomer tourist is to take the Big Bus or any equivalent hop on-hop off bus service. All the staff were super courteous and spoke good English. And there is no substitute to having the unhindered rooftop view of a vity

The bus worked great. But the boat, after waiting 45 minutes, did not appear and it was very cold. Evil

We came to Budapest by train and had a hard time finding the start of the tour. We first had to take the subway two stops to start on the red line. It was a shame that the entire Burgenviertel was not included on this route. The swing on the Danube with the ship was very nice. It would only be desirable to display the departure times on the Internet so that you can plan your tour better. The German tour accompaniment via audio is linguistically correct but very monotonous. This could be improved. Conclusion: the tour was satisfactory, one day is not enough for Budapest

WARNING! WE WERE RIPPED OFF AND THEN PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED BY SALES GIRL. This company will rip you off. We were approached by a sales girl in front of the train station. She was extremely aggressive. We were holding a brochure to a different company and when that salesperson mentioned we might be looking for him, she angrily snapped at him and blocked his way to reach us. That should have been first clue. We told her we had just a few hours in the city and needed a 1 Day Pass on just one line. She acted like she didn’t speak English and we were making attempts to communicate what we needed (we learned later she spoke perfect English). She was telling us there was only one package available and we would point to the price list on her clipboard for the 1 DAY PASS. She nodded as though she understood. We completed the transaction and paid with credit card. As we were waiting for the bus we noticed others had a different looking ticket. We then saw she sold us a 2 Day pass with a river cruise. We turned around within minutes of making the sale with her and asked for her to cancel it and give us the 1 Day pass. She aggressively began arguing that we asked for the 2 day pass, which we never did. She claimed she was not able to refund our money and began waving her hand as though to say “get out of here”. She then walked away. We followed her telling her we wanted our money back. By that time we were both shouting and she was claiming my husband changed his mind while I was taking photos and asked for the 2 day. That’s ridiculous. We only had 1 day in Budapest. My husband would never have asked for the 2 day. She was lying. The other bus salespeople came over and began arguing with her to refund our money and give us the 1 day. Two other bus company employees were helping us and she pushed one of them. He was on his cellphone calling the police. He gave us directions to Big Bus main office and told us to go there to get our money back. I asked the girl for her name and she refused to give it to me, so I tried to snap her photo. She grabbed my phone out of my hand and threw it down. The bus arrived and we lined up to get on it to go to their office. As I was in line she ran up behind me and slugged me in the back and ran off down the street. We arrived at the office and we were put on the phone with the president of the company. He claimed he was not able to refund our money for 5 days. He gave us tix for a tram to take us to the top of Castle Hill. We felt we had no choice, but to take them. We DO NOT recommend you use this company. They will cheat you and rip you off. Use any other company, but this one. We will never use Big Bus anywhere in the world now.

When you have very little time to see a city, the best choice for you is this hop-on hop off bus. There are several different companies in Budapest that we got from shop.It has very good routes, they are almost regular. You can also use the boat and the night route.

Had a wonderful tour in March. Aytan - she was our guide and she was helpful and informative. Would definitely recommend this tour. We have visited highlighted places in Budapest and the explanations are available as an audio that we can listen during the trip.

In general, I liked everything. In some places, there are very long queues for the bus, in which there are no more free seats. Headphones do not work in all places.

Highly recommend to take ONLY bus tour, very comfortable, easy booking, easy pickets they give in front of the bus. Good audio guide in many languages. BUT! Don’t visit the river tour on the boat! Especially in the winter! We stayed 45 minutes on the cold with kids and left in the end as it was not clear how much to wait. The boats had only one floor covered. Not enough space for all who bought the tickets!

There are many different hop on hop off operators. The Big busses are not as crowded as the some of the others. The information is a bit short and instead of the paus music they should have some history about Hungary. The river cruise boat included in the premium and Deluxe ticket is a bit small and the seats are facing away from the windows. Try to go in the evening.

I'm always a big fan of the Big Bus! This was my favorite by far! I just wish there were tour guides on the buses. Either way, the price is definitely worth the value. I chose the three day option and it included unlimited bus ride. Unlimited boats ride, night tours, walking tours, and tours around the castle. VERY SUPER GREAT FARE! So happy I did this. The drivers are also the friendliest people every. The audio you listen on the bus is very informative. They talk about history and current events going on in Budapest. Thank you for helping me to see Budapest!

Did the hop on/off bus tour in Vienna and other city's and I don't think that this tour provider is good at all. 1.The bus stops and not well identified 2. The bus only goes in one direction so you need to do the whole tour again if you've missed something 3. No announcement a are made to let the passengers know where they are at. 4. Deivers are not friendly at all...

(Translated by Google) We were shopping in a shopping mall in Budapest today (01.10.19) not far from stop 10. We got back to the stop at 10am. 18.15 to take the bus back to our hotel. It was clear in the brochure and on the bus stop sign that a new bus arrived every 15-20 minutes and that the last bus departed at 18:55 from this bus stop. We waited and waited while several buses from competing companies stopped, but no bus from Big Bus came. When it was 19.05 we had to get back to the hotel on the other side of town on our own. We think this is too bad! Next time we are in a big city we will choose another company and we will warn others against using Big Bus.

Guys think before going on big bus I took Budapest and Vienna twin city option for my family The budapest experience was really pathetic, one has to wait for 40-50 minutes to board the bus on each stop , you can walk and go to next destination easily rather than waiting for bus . I contacted a staff to escalate the matter but the as per staff one has to go to their centre at 15 stop no. Now the story at vienna i am in the bus the bus has halted at stop 1 blue bus for last 30 minutes

To be honest you could walk the tour and we did most of it on day one. I would suggest you take the tour on day one our hotel arranged it but you can pay on the street. Do the Red tour and start early as the bus stops about 1600, an inconvenience to say the least when it stops on the east of the City. Other than that I would also only do a day tour and don't include the boat as this costs a lot pay on the boat.

I am glad we were able to see so much of the city with Big Bus. We saw a lot of the city we couldn’t have seen by foot and had time to explore the Buda and Pest sides. I would recommend the two day pass with the river cruise.

Not a great experience. The audio explanations are very basic. The tour had several unexpected and unexplained stops. At one point the bus stops and the driver said that we must go out to wait for the next bus because he would make an hour stop. If you only have a day in the city it might be worth it to at least see the sites from a bus, but if you have more time you have a lot more and better alternatives.

(Translated by Google) I recommend it for small weekend trips when we have little time to see a city as large as Budapest. Things worth working on: - tickets for sure, we bought tickets online, it turned out that after buying tickets online, we still have to go to the BIG BUS office to exchange those bought online for real ones. - Before I got into the Big Bus, I thought that being 185 cm tall, the biggest problem is with low-cost airlines, but in Big Bus it is light years beyond them, it should be BIG TIGHT BUS, with my height it was impossible to sit down in any way, no there was room for the legs - No control after boarding the bus (we were asked to throw the coffee in the mug at the entrance), but when a group of people went in their backpacks and started drinking alcohol and singing on the roof of the bus nobody paid attention - passengers had to do it.

It was my first time with a hop on hop off bus. Great experience to be honest. The purchase of the tickets was very simple and the stations were well designated. The app is easy to use too. I can recommend it to anyone who goes to a foreign metropole for the first time.

Really very useful travel company! The company has app!! Very easy and fast orientation and ticket buy using the app! The most important for customers is tha can go out in every bus stops, take they're traveling watch, and come back in next bus! The tickets are available for 24 h. In Budapest, also can use the same ticket for bot river cruise -1 hour. Really recommended.

Was a good tour bus came regular basis price was a little high but but it basically took you everywhere you wanted to go in Budapest. Also I think the chair would be better in Winter because it was coated with plastic upstairs and it was still very cold because it was December and it was about 33 degrees Fahrenheit. I was happy with the quality of the bus drivers driving and the frequency of the buses. The only thing that could be improved is the insulation in the bus and the accent of the person that was giving the lecture over the headphones was very hard for us to understand her English.

No Room for knees in the seats on upper deck; very cramped and not a pleasant way to sit; NEED MORE SPACE Driver kept fabric roof closed even when no rain obscuring the view. Too lazy to open the top. Made the bus tour much less pleasant and informative Recorded tour on headphones repeated at times Recorded tour on headphones not paused when announcements by driver or other person making it impossible to listen at the same time Bought ticket on internet; code on downloaded ticket could not be scanned on boarding bus and needs to be taken to station 1 and exchanged for a readable ticket which is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS, INEFFICIENT AND INCONVENIENT Sound quality of recorded tour not that clear Had to change buses with delay at the City Park ice rink I would not recommend this tour

More service minded and intelligent guides, better communication when routes are cancelled (either because of road works or any other reasons). Not only better communications regarding this but also either some kind of compensation or CHEAPER prices: I bought tickets for a group (a lot of money!!!) and paid the original price for something that we DID NOT GET! Also simpler purchase possibilities. Why take out paper tickets when everything is dealt with on-line??? So unnecessary.

You should definitely not take the Big bus in Budapest. I took it because I used the big bus in Paris and everything went on very smoothly. But in Budapest. You need to go to the office and authenticate your tickets to go to the cruise. The timings of the office is not available on their website and the support does not answer even the basic questions. I had to waste half my day as i did not see a single Big bus only to realise that they had merged themselves with city sightseeing hop on hop off! Because I wasn't staying the next day for the river cruise. I had to take an extra night cruise ticket although the hop on hop off included it only because I couldn't find big bus. Hopeless service. Take the city sightseeing tours instead. They are there all around Budapest. I went through the comments and only then found out the companies have merged. Website or the support did not mention it!

Overall not bad- a great way to see the city and get your bearings. However, the bus sped through certain parts and repeated the same places a lot. The English language guide was a no...it was very difficult to understand..we switched to Dutch. The river cruise is a good add on but so difficult to find. A pain to book online and have to go in person to print them at the bus information centre. A lot to be improved here.

  • 3/5 Ryan C. 4 years ago on Google
If you're using this to get around the city it's kind of a pain. You have to ride the entire 1 1/2 hour bus ride to get back to your original location. If you're doing a two day tour of the city and want to see all the biggest spots, I encourage you to do this. Approximately 30$ for two days and a free river cruise.

Probably an awesome tour if you can find a bus, only seen a few across the city. Once on the bus it was overcrowded, and no where to sit. Save your time and money and use City Sightseeing Budapest.

Very convenient tour of all major European cities. After the tour, you have a clear image of the city that you are in. You see very fast all the interesting places of the city. Especially in cold weather it is a warm shelter. When i visit a city for first time I always look to see if they operate there.

  • 4/5 Hurston h. 6 months ago on Google
It was pleasant. Dress appropriately and you will enjoy yourself. It offers earbuds and a headphone jack located at your seat with many language options. Some busses on the top deck are covered some are not. The best thing about this tour was it was for 24 hours. You had 24 hours to complete the tour. This allows you to Hop off and go take pictures see monuments and read the plaques. If you complete the tour in a day you can still use the Bus as a pseudo taxi to take you close to other attractions. Just make sure you keep your ticket. The information was a bit "programmed". The information felt like it was read from a tour book. Other than that it was very good

Would give zero stars if I could. Completely disappointed in this tour. We were not aware prior to purchasing that y’all allow those who buy BBC tickets to ride other company’s buses and vice versa. I believe we heard “it’s all the same.” When we were stuck riding their buses, they were awful, where BBC has a much higher standard. Out of the times we hopped on, only once was it a BBC bus. I hyped your company to family and friends. The recording for English should either be someone who is English or speaks without much of a broken English accent. Our Spanish teacher friend, changed to Spanish it was so bad. Also when we took the boat transit, we were not aware it went to every single public stop. Took forever to get to the boat. Had we known this, we would have gotten on nearer to our hotel. Cannot recommend this bus tour in Budapest and I will be checking more closely to any other city you provide service. I guess the UK is really your niche.

Good to get around the landmarks in Budapest BUT when we arrived the staff not helpful especially the small stalls dotted around, we purchased our tickets online, when telling the stall holders this they didn’t want to know or help us.On the bus was busy and crowded and upstairs the roof was on so not such a good view of the city. I’m 6’3” and no signs saying “mind your head” disappointed for the price really such a shame sorting out the little details would make a huge difference.

Guy who sold me ticket did a good sell. What they don’t tell you is person checking ticket and notifying you 95 per cent of the time are rude, get agitated if you ask a question, plus when they announce stops in English you can’t understand them . Then all of a sudden they stop the bus and say either photo stop or change next bus waiting for you. Worst hop on bus l have used in Europe! Don’t bother. Everyone l spoke to said what horrible staff on board.

I waited 40 minutes for the Bus with 3 Buses of the other company stopping at the same bus stop. Once I got on the bus it stopped at the next stop to take a break and we were told to get into the bus which is first in line. I asked if it is okay to get into the first one as it’s a different company and he told me in a rude way as if I were stupid that they are all the same. How on earth should I know?! If someone had told me this I wouldn’t have had to wait 40 minutes!! There is also no number to call if you need assistance. First set of headphones were broken, audio is terrible and the concept of a glas top in Budapest is ridiculous as it heats up so much. Boat tour was lovely

  • 4/5 Janett G. 9 months ago on Google
Buy tickets at one of the stops to get a good deal. You can use with one ticket all 3 tour operators. Some buses are air conditioned. Unlimited boat ride included. Good value for the price. Can’t comment on audio speaker as we didn’t use them but from previous tours is better to take your own headphones as the one give has bad audio quality. Wished they would operate (bus) longer than just 18:00 in summer

  • 2/5 Markus H. 9 months ago on Google
There are three things to mention: #1 was a real spoiler: the Audio Guide in German! The person who spoke the comments did it without raising or lowering his voice, without any kind of intonation, and was sometimes hardly to understand at all. I would expect a member of an international network of enterprises to perform much better! #2 the App: apart from indicating the nearest bus stop to the current location, the app did not present any additional benefit. Even with the ordinary leaflet (with map) it was easier to follow the tour! Also, I would expect such an application to provide (on demand) additional information about the town and the sites visited. #3 the content: all too often the comments given on Hungarian celebrities or national achievements were heavily patriotic, on one occasion the Hungarians were even depicted as superior (more intelligent) to any other nation on the world. A real No-Go, not only due to the international public!

Extremely poor audio guide. Literally loosing half of information cause of bad pronounced words. Not keeping the timing, so the storytelling is behind the picture you observing. Bus driver from the Blue line (operating around castles) was way more interesting.

(Translated by Google) We bought the Deluxe Pass ticket to take advantage of all the advantages of the company, including the night tour and the cruise on the Danube. The problem we encountered in the 3 days we were using it is that the frequency of the buses is very irregular. There were times when it took a long time to arrive and we had to take a taxi rather than wait half an hour to the next bus. The best thing is that you can get on and off as many times as you want, that there are 3 possible routes and that the application lets you know which bus stop is closest and where the buses run in real time (although I get the impression that it is not 100% reliable). In short, a good system to move around the most tourist places, but that must be combined with other means, especially when you finish the trips at 18:00.

If it was a minis 10 stars I would use it. Basically at 6 pm the tour finishes (but that info was not given when purchasing the ticket), and it actually finishes WHEREVER the bus is. The bus driver told us to get off and take the public buses to get back to the city centre (we were quite far Sczecheny Park).

(Translated by Google) We are quite satisfied with this purchase. We have had pleasant staff each time. The red course is essential and the blue takes you only to the status of freedom. With the two-day ticket we took advantage of the night cruise, which was also nice. All this without too many people and waiting for a Sunday.

Found it too expensive for the usage and the audio guide commentary disappointing, just not enough detail and fairly bland. The river cruise section with Silverline was a complete waste of The staff though were exceptionally helpful so in that sense we didn't feel completely ripped off.

This is the first tour we have done like this in a major city and overall found it excellent value for money and easy to use especially if you download the app which will direct you to the bus stops and gives the location of the buses. Our 3 day pass included the hop on hop off stopping at various landmarks around the city any time from 9 am to last bus which leaves stop 1 at 4 pm and finishes the route at about 5.30 (this may just be Winter times so check), a 1 hour River cruise, Night tour, Walking tour, Castle Shuttle and Citadel Tour. I would have given 5 stars but we were advised the wrong time on our ticket for the night tour (changed by 1 hour between the first and second night – so check with the bus drivers).

(Translated by Google) Insufficient information at which point we were, without announcement two important stations were omitted, our bus was always at a station every time, the headphone jack was broken, there was no sensible card or message, with which we (after an area Had explored) could have found the next stop - the app did not help us there either. Overall, there seemed to be not enough buses for the number of tourists waiting. The accompanying information on Budapest was uninformative and repetitive. But the tickets were clearly too expensive.

Overall enjoyable, easy to use staff are very friendly Review of: Big Bus Budapest Hop-On Hop-Off Tour We purchased our 3 day deluxe tickets from Mohammad close to the 7 seasons, he was very friendly and explained everything. The tickets (€30 each) included the red line (3 day ticket)/blue line (3 day ticket)/night tour (1 night only) /boat trip (1 boat trip only) /walking tour & app /bus to the castle RedLine- its perfect when you want to see all the sights. It goes through pest and then on to buda and back to pest again. Buses are every 20 minutes. I found the buses to be clean, the guided tour to be spot on and any translation boxs i tried seemed to work perfectly. Blue Line - has only 3 stops on a loop on the buda side but links back with the red line so customers can "hop on hop off" easily Night Tour - The guide on the night and the bus driver were really nice and even though it was their xmas party night, we were not rushed on to the bus, the banter was good and we were even taught some hungarian! The night tour lasted approx 60mins. We were really looking forward to this and it was a let down purely because we couldn't see out the windows 15 minutes into the tour! We moved down stairs but the enchantment of the lights of the night tour was gone and we got off the bus thinking that was a waste of time. Boat trip was fantastic approx 75 mins long, we were on the higher deck and the lights were amazingly and the atmosphere was lovely. Its easy to get to as stop 14 (redline) is less than5 mins away. Castle Bus - We did not use the castle bus as we used the funicula. The App!!- the app is easy to use, and its great when you can check to see where the buses are. Overall the services was good, clean and on time, the staff are very friendly. You get to see all the sights, Dont be sold on the night tour but definitely definitely take the trip on the Danube that's included on the delux ticket. And download the app its really easy to use. The deluxe ticket includes every thing and we felt it was good value for money.

It's a tourist trap, They will sell you 24/48/72hrs hop on hop off bus tickets but they have bus trips only during 9am to 5pm. half of the time bus gose round and round in same area which you can easily walk.

(Translated by Google) Lovely, helpful, smart purchase !!! Worth it, especially winter months! Especially if you close the packages for 2 or 3 days you have extra benefits! You do not get tired or walk, nor do you need unnecessary paths, just what you want to see! Boating is also worth it, especially when the sun goes down! Courtesy staff of course! We enjoyed it as long as we didn't expect it!

The absolute WORST!! Biggest waste of money of our whole trip! Buses barely came every 30 minutes in the freezing winter and none of the apps worked to tell you when they were coming. Every bus completely packed and overcrowded with no seats!! Find an alternative

We got the 72 hour ticket and soon realized that it was not worth it. I would recommend that use public transport or via Budapest card and just plan visits on your own. The bus doesn’t take you far, frequency isn’t that great and guide is not anything helpful. No quality and yet not cheap. They need to invest to make it better.

Awful. Unreliable service, waiting for over an hour, terrible communication. Just an awful experience at the start of my vacation. You have less than 10 sec to “hop” off & on at stops. . .The bus barely stops. I’ve traveled to many countries where Big Bus is fantastic, but not in Budspest. I regret the hours that I’ve wasted on this gorgeous day waiting at bus stops. I do not recommend

Great to do. Handy when you have a 24hr, or 72hr pass as you can always rely on it. Sights and commentary were great. Staff were friendly and spoke English. Got the boat tour on the Danube as well, so pretty seeing the sights at night.

The tour is worth all the money! The buses are taking you everywhere you want to go, are coming every 30 mins, and there is also a boat tour included. There is all the time prerecorded audio so you can learn more about what you are seeing! Defenitely worth the price!

BAD, BADDER, BIG BUS TOURS Took the 'romantic' 22.00 night tour. Besides showing the parlement building at night it was really bad. Audio guide didn't work and it lasted just 25 min. There were WAY to many people on the boat ( +- 1,5 times seat capacity). Staff looked like they needed to poop. I would advice to go with the legenda boat (one dock further). They where nice and lasted for more then an hour.

We took this bus so far in 6 city’s. All was great but this. Workers had interest .nobody looked like enjoyed they job. Waited 45 min at a stop then walked to next stop, nobody said anything about detours or skipping stops. Bus so full we had to stand. Guy charged more then it was advised … overall bad experience.

  • 4/5 Aaron H M. 5 years ago on Google
The tour itself is a good way of seeing all the sites and getting around the city. Information was clear and easy to understand with multiple languages. The river cruise was also great add on. It needs more buses. We waited a good half an hour to get on one bus which was a complete waste of our time. The other bus company’s had 3 buses come in the time 1 of our buses coming. I would still recommend a hop on/hop off, maybe see the price differentials.
