Basically. Not bad. the receptionist girl was really helpful. location is perfect. Very good. But what was worse is they ask extra 2 Euro as tourist city tax per night which I didn't notice when booking. While actual tourist city tax was only 4 % of price as other hostels do so. The way is like scam. And they have only 1 bathroom for over 20 people. Kitchen is only available at 8-23. Sometimes no any staff stay there. I understand. But they shoud tell beforehand

AVOID - BEDBUGS Stayed on 24th June 2016 got 30+ bites from bed bugs. This is not a one off problem it is ongoing, search on google and you will see several reviews about bedbugs from other review sites. Receptionist was polite and helpful but owner of hostel was deceitful and aggressive. We cancelled our intended additional night and requested a full refund (40euro) which the receptionist and the owner agreed to over the phone. We were then handed 5000HUF as our refund (this is 13euro) hoping we would not understand the exchange rate. We were then told to return 3 days later to pick up refund in euro. On return given 20 euro, owner had now changed story, claiming i was never bitten, (despite having the bites and photos ofbthe bed bugs in the room. Owner now refusing to refund for the night we stayed and were bitten. Would never stay here again.

I spent two nights there and the second night they broke in and robbed while a colleague was sleeping. The staff at the hostel weren't worried at all and when we called the police, they told us that it wasn't the first time that one of the hostel's rooms had been stolen, everything was very suspicious. Not recommended at all.

This Ostel it's one of the worst I never visit: - beds are 10 cm tall and defenititly uncomfortable - all the space are always dirty - bathroom is even more than dirty, there are yellow spots on the shower. The only positive note it's the staff.

I have written them long time ago if I they offer long-term rental offers. They did not even bother to reply. I guess they are dreaming of such guests now in these Covid-19 days since there is no tourists around, and wont be around for a long time.:)

I had the chance to stay in this hostel for a couple of nights. The location is amazing, I was able to walk to every touristic spot in the city so I saved some money. They have good breakfast and the staff is super nice, they were always willing to help you out. The room was nice and I had a great sleep. Would love to come back to this place soon!

Very great hostel! Location is in the heart of pest. Super cheap and the staff was great. Beds were also pretty comfy and you get clean sheets aswell as power points for your phone. There is 2 bathrooms but only one shower so plan for this in case you need shower.

I stayed here for the weekend and the staff is so nice. The recepcionist suggested places for partying, eating and to do activities. It provides free breakfast and the location is really good regarding every major touristic spot in the city, but I could walk to all of the places easily. The building is really historic. I really liked it.

I had a wonderful time here. The staff more friendly than I have ever experienced in a hostel before. It’s like coming home and all the people are one big family. Also the hostel is located in a really great part of Budapest.

My stay at Oleander Hostel was great over all! I felt really welcomed since I walked in and I was received by Camilo. He was very attentive the entire time, making sure everyone had what they needed and also creating a good vibe for the guest. The only small detail is that there is only one shower for the entire place. It’s manageable, but you have to sometimes wait in line to use it. Other than that, everything was great, perfect location as well! Cheers guys! & thank you Camilo !
