Tasty ice cream that will make happy both, your eyes and your stomach! Amazing idea, friendly staff. Little tip: First you have to pay to the cashier and than with a ticket from her you can go order. You can choose from small (1 flavour), medium ( 2 flavours), big (3 flavours).

I recently had the most delightful ice cream experience at this hidden gem in Budapest! If you're an ice cream lover like me, you simply cannot miss visiting this artisanal ice cream shop. From the moment I stepped in, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff who were more than happy to share their passion for ice cream. The selection of flavors blew me away – from classic favorites to unique and inventive combinations, they truly have something to satisfy every taste bud. The creamy texture and rich taste were out of this world, and you could tell that every ingredient was of the highest quality. What sets this place apart is their dedication to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, which gives their ice cream a distinctive and authentic flavor. As a foodie, I really appreciate the effort they put into crafting such exceptional treats. Not only is the ice cream amazing, but the cozy ambiance of the shop made the experience even more enjoyable. It's the perfect spot to unwind and indulge in a sweet treat after exploring the beautiful streets of Budapest. I can't wait to come back and try more of their mouthwatering flavors. If you're in Budapest, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to this incredible artisan ice cream shop. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

A must stop for ice-cream in St Stephen’s Square in Budapest! It offers ice-cream cones shaped as roses in small, medium and large sizes. The ice-cream is delicious and there are many interesting flavors like basil-lemon and white chocolate with lavender. Prepare for long waiting times as there may be big queues during peak times!

Delicious ice cream with a special shape. I think it was a bit expensive compared to the quantity it offers. It was fresh but nothing special except the look. is a good choice of ice cream in Budapest.

Location has moved since we last visited but the new venue is not too far away, but much better atmosphere. Ice creams and service from the staff were great. One of the best coffees I had in Budapest! Also a big thanks to the staff member who chased us down to return a bag we accidentally left behind.

We loved the flower shaped ice-cream. They have amazing flavors. I would recommend the banana chocolate. We went here twice during our holiday as it was just delicious. Keep in mind though that the line can be quite long. Come as early as possible.

I tried hot chocolate during Christmas. They have multiple flavour options as well. The milk hot chocolate with Orange flavour was delicious 😋, although slightly sweeter than what I would have wanted. Overall nice experience

Definitely one of the best gelatos I've tried. The tastes are very natural and organic. The cream has very nice and smooth structure. Price& quantity ratio is also very good. Vegan options also available.

The Ice cream was tasty , but I think it’s over rated due to the rose shape and hence the pricing is high for the serving that they give. I have had such good ice gelato in other places which are priced better and the serving is huge. But this could be tried one time. The flavours were good and quite nice.

Absolutely loved this place! Best ice cream ever. The white chocolate and lavander is fabulous as it is the sour cherry, pistachio and pretty much everything else I have tried. Definitely worth the line.

One of the tastiest and prettiest ice cream I’ve ever eaten! The flavours are all super unique and tasty, and they have various options like gluten free and sorbets. I ordered cherry, lemon and mango and they are all super rich and creamy! There is a long line but I feel like it is worth ite the ice cream, and it is conveniently located. Would definitely recommend checking out this place!

It is one of the most popular ice cream shops in the city and their ice cream can boast a special rose shape. Also I need to mention that it is close to one of the main tourist attractions - St. Stephen Basilica, so it is usually pretty crowded.

Gelarto Rosa ice cream shop is the best ice cream in Budapest - great service - great girls who create works of art from ice cream - full professionalism and service culture at the highest level. A magically conjured rose flower - it's a shame to eat it, because it's a work of art. Delicious flavors - I recommend especially (white chocolate with lavender). The price is not low, but the taste experience is unforgettable. I highly recommend everyone to try this delicious and already iconic ice cream 👍

Hands down, the best hot chocolate on my entire Euro trip was from this place. The rose shaped gelato is pretty and tasty at the same time. Relished every bit of it.

I will give it a 9/10. The salespersons are so nice, the ice cream flower they made also really pretty! I chose two flavors which are pistachios and mango. The mango is really fruity and fresh, the pistachio also really rich. The outcome like a sunflower, definitely will come back!

Beautiful gelato they make right it front of you in a shape of rose. There are more than 25flavours to choose from. There js a queue sometimes. We loves the rose and pistachio flavour the most.

Pistachio and coffee flavour. The ice cream is excellent! The only minuses are the crowds of some inconsiderate people and the efforts of the waiters to serve everyone quickly, even if there is no room inside.

We stopped by during our evening stroll and got lucky as there was no queue and we were able to get our order right away. The ice cream was tasty and they had quite a few flavours to chose from, I decided to go with salted caramel and vanilla. The rose shape was very pretty and the person making it took extra care as I informed them I have a nut allergy. Staff were really friendly and the location was super cute to sit at and enjoy however the space was small so I could see it hard to get a spot if one was to come during peak times. Although it was quite tasty it was a bit pricer so it makes it for a nice treat but I wouldn’t get it regularly.

The ice cream tastes really great but it takes ages to get. They should have a scoop option. Would help them as well to sell more. And of course extremly expensive! But once in a while a nice tasting ice cream in downtown.

Great, cute, yummy looking ice cream with a nice service! However, you get 3 times less ice cream for the same price that you would pay at the regular ice cream store. I would recommend going for it as a tourist, or a local once, but definitely not as a regular visitor where you want to get your "go to" ice cream for a nice price.

We stumbled on this place and we’re so ecstatic. The gelato was excellent, but it is the presentation that drew us in. Part of the enjoyment is choosing the flavors based on the colors to make a pretty picture. The price was good value and the service friendly and efficient. Love this place.

Aside from the flowers being really cute, the gelato is amazing!! Every flavour I has was so good and they all taste exactly like what they say, for example the rose flavour tastes like actual roses in a good way. Personally highly recommend pistachio and chocolate together

I recently visited Gelato Rosa Ice Cream Shop, and I have a few thoughts to share. The first thing that struck me was the long queue of customers waiting outside. However, it's important to note that the long queue contributed to a slightly frustrating experience as it took some time to get inside and place an order. Once inside, I was greeted by a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. The shop itself has a charming aesthetic, with colorful displays of gelato that are sure to catch your eye. The staff members were friendly and helpful, considering the number of people they had to attend to. Despite the crowd, they managed to keep a positive attitude.

Just amazing and the flavours are incredible. Basil and lemon, lavender and white chocolate, rose ice cream... All delicious!! Amazing find. The ice cream in the picture was a medium size and cost 1,500 huf each

The rose flavor is highly recommended! ! Very refreshing and delicious! The pistachio flavor is still too strong, but the matcha flavor is not bad either. But the best thing is the rose! The shop assistants all speak English and very nice. They support credit card payment😆

Visited this place after seeing long queue outside the shop. I wasn’t really impressed by the taste and quality of icecream but you pay for the skills of making rose pattern. Ice cream is quite expensive. It was an impressive skill to make such rose shape. If you are longing for good gelato then it’s not the right place.

It is usually very crowded here from morning to noon and there is a long queue, but at night it is more secluded. They have a chili chocolate ice cream which has a strange taste and I suggest you try it! It is delicious!

Phenomenal ice cream, such a range of delicious flavours and beautifully presented in a unique way. It’s amazing watching how they create the roses. Staff are lovely as well and always polite. We’ve been multiple times over the years when visiting this lovely city for the Christmas markets

I never knew that I would get to eat such a special ice cream. It's like a rainbow in your mouth. The unique kind of ice cream( lemon-basil, Rose, lavender) are the best!! It's not expensive either so you can enjoy the best ice cream of your life!

What's better than ice cream? A blooming flower that's made out of edible ice cream! Gelarto Rosa was swarming with customers when we paid them a visit on Sunday afternoon. After queuing for ~10 minutes, we managed to reach the cashier to place our order and receive tickets after making payment. Thereafter, we proceed to the display counter and wait for any available counter staff to collect our ticket and prepare the 'flower' per our desired flavors. Then you wait, as you watch the staff laboriously layers the intricate frozen dessert, petal by petal. At the end of the day, I appreciated the workmanship that goes into forming the flowery cool treat, and the taste was pretty alright. Sadly, my wallet disagrees with me 🌻

Besides the beautiful way of serving the ice-cream ( rose shape ), the quality of the ice-cream is fantastic! The tastes are very subtle and very natural, absolutely no sweeteners added. I tried many different flavors and all of them are amazing, especially the “unexpected” ones like Olive, Whiskey and Gin cucumber. This is a “must do” when you visit Budapest. ( and priced very friendly! )

  • 5/5 Jeffrey B. 1 year ago on Google
Gelato is usually gelato and this place is no exception. It’s good. The selection of flavors was also good. If you’re here, you’re paying for the show and the piece of art you get to eat. With that in mind, it’s more expensive than a single scoop of gelato just about anywhere else while the rest goes to the show itself. The ladies working there were all very friendly and spoke excellent English. There are worse ways to spent a few minutes escaping the cold (or maybe the heat?) so it was an overall win.

A must-try if you're visiting Budapest. If you think this ice cream shop is only a gimmick, a place for nice Instagram photos, then you will be gladly mistaken. There are 3 sizes. I took the medium as I just wanted something refreshing after a long walk around the town. I chose berries, mango, and strawberry which was a nice combo, and I was pleasantly surprised by the refreshing taste of fruit each taste had to offer. So if you're nearby and want something refreshing to eat, I highly recommend you visit here.

Kinda touristy but definitely recommended. They have a good variety of different flavors, their prices are average, and it ends up being a beautiful and tasty little flower. That's a good refreshing ice cream in the summer, and it's nice sitting outside and watching the church.

  • 5/5 Sophina M. 1 year ago on Google
I had 3 scoops of mango, raspberry, and strawberry/elderflower sorbet. So refreshing on a hot summers day. I would recommend getting a SMALL if you find things a bit sweet. I got a medium and it was a very generous portion. Good service from the lady behind the till who explained the flavours to us.

I have heard about this place before, ” I had the opportunity to visit it. And it definitely worths all the waiting time (quick line) and money. They have both traditional and modern (like basil lemon) flavors, all delicious! It was awesome to see how the ice cream rose petals were created. Beautiful work.

Yummmmmmy!! Great flavours and such a creative and an inviting way to attract the costumers. Been there a few times, each time tried a new combination.😋

This is one of the reasons we revisited Budapest. It's almost always a waiting line. The ice-cream tastes as good as it looks. 950 forits for 3 tastes, roughly 3 euro. So it's cheap, tasty and instagramable... It's a must try if you visit budapest.

I was worried this was going to be the classic "look good taste bad-ice cream" for instagram pictures, but this thing actually tasted AMAZING. I highly recommend the place, really good quality. It's awesome! It was 33° outside so the ice cream melted after a couple of minutes, right after the pictures. We got an extra cup to hold it.
