Having been to the Gellért & Széchenyi Baths it's interesting to compare. This is a very "Hungarian" Spa, I think I was the only tourist there. Also the average age appears to be much older than the popular Gellért & Széchenyi, I think these two Spas tend to get all the publicity in the tourist guides. I think if the "Sauna World" section of the Spa was open, this might be my favourite place, at least on a sunny day as most of the facilities are outdoors. Two swimming pools with temperatures of 22C and 26C, then in a different section a really nice relaxing big jacuzzi pool and whirlpool. Many jacuzzi beds in the pool for lying back and enjoying the bubbling massage. This places certainly wins the prize for the best Jacuzzis. There is also an enormous area for relaxing on the roof of the complex, some of it shaded by the overhanging trees and some in full sunshine. There is a group of fitness workstations also up on the roof. A section of this place is dedicated to medical treatments with special pools of high mineral content. But this area is available by appointment only. Lots of little nooks and crannies, quite fun exploring this place, could do with a map. The locker system is the same as Széchenyi and Gellért, using electronic wrist bands.

Not the best baths in town. Bad navigation design, super easy to get lost. Outdoor pools were too cold to swim in during November. Interior is messy. Poor buffet with no healthy snacks. Smell at the entrance hall is bad. However, great historical legacy - many old inner pools are preserved. Almost exclusively senior people with a lot of services for them- gymnastics, saunas, baths, massage. I took 20 minute deep massage session, and it was pleasurable! To conclude, I would suggest to visit Rudas or Szécheni Bats for better experience.

I have been coming for ten years and love it. Yes, it’s easy to get lost but that’s part of the charm. So many different options in the maze, and staff not always easy to communicate with. However, since ten years ago I see a huge change, more English, online booking and payment, better signs, etc. There are fewer tourists than other places so like it better that way. No better way to work out the muscle pains than at Lukacs.

Overall those are pretty nice thermal baths There are two swimming pools, one leisure pool, several sauna, one herbal sauna, one hammam, several thermal pools (from 20°C to 40°C) and a fitness park. Not that many tourists if you're there before 12h. You will lose like one hour trying to find where to go, it's not easy to navigate and many signs have not been translated in English yet.

My friends and I visited with high hopes, but we left far from relaxed; in fact, we were appalled. The lady at the reception was extremely impolite and rolled her eyes. She told us to arrive on time for our massages due to a fully booked schedule, but it turned out to be untrue as my friend was allowed in 30 minutes early. The pools, floors, stairs, showers—everything was disgustingly dirty. There was trash and other people's hair everywhere. We had booked massages, but unfortunately, I was massaged by a man in a gloomy room, and my upper body was left uncovered while my legs were massaged. The pools were overcrowded, leaving you uncomfortably close to strangers. Adding to the discomfort, despite wearing bikinis, the staff insisted that we undress, even though there was a man and a woman in the sauna fully clothed. Furthermore, the entire facility was very outdated, and there was a pervasive stench throughout. Do not come here, under any circumstances!

A great way to spend a sunny day in Budapest. It is a real local experience, and it’s big enough that it never feels too busy. The building is beautiful and has lots of sections to enjoy. You can swim outside, relax in the outdoor whirlpools or relax in the thermal baths on the bottom floor. I can spend hours relaxing here, and usually come out feeling a million dollars.

Fantastic place with amazing pools outside and inside and a huge balcony for sunbathing. I also loved the old, well kept buildings and the front courtyard with old trees. Definitely recommended!

As much as we love this place for relax, beautiful old architecture and historical feel and swimming, this place doesn't have enough showers. The one we found wasn't very clean, old and rusty unfortunately. The Lukacz is not entirely open since they are cutting down on electric use. (Herbal steam room, sauna, salt room closed) The inside pools were quite crowded today, swimming outside was wonderful. They have very nice buffet inside that you can eat in while in swimming suit. Traditional Hungarian sandwiches and baked goods, cakes, tea coffee, beers. Swimming cup is needed in outdoor pools. You will need to bring your own towels, swim shoes even bath robe is great to have, the bathing suit is required here. It's coed on weekends.

Great bath to go to last minute. I scheduled that morning and was able to get in no problem (all the bigger baths were booked out for the whole week). There are a few pools that you can’t go in unless you have a hair/swim cap, these in turn had less people. The main bath I spent most of my time in had a whirlpool that would pull you around the circle while you floated, many seats, and plenty of jets/bubbles either coming out of the floor, seats, or walls of the pool. There were plenty of changing cubes, lockers, and bathrooms that could all be accessed through the arm band given to you at the entrance. I am very satisfied given my last minute reservation.

Visited two times in middle of August. One entrance was free with Budapest card, and i liked it so much i came back a second time. Went on a Sunday and Monday. Not crowded at all ( a little bit on the pool that has those massage jets and the circle current ) but the rest was more than fine. Lockers worked perfectly. Took my own lunch because inside you can only buy packed sandwiches ( from what i saw). Its a little bit confusing at first (even with the map they give at the information center) but after exploring for 5 minutes , it's easy.

Of the 4 public thermal baths that I visited, this has been my favorite. This bath caters more to the local citizens, with fewer tourists, so I felt like I had a truly local experience. There were 2 lap pools, with posted temperatures, which made it easier to have a personalized experience. There were multiple hot pools, with posted temperatures and the chill pools. The sauna was excellent, with ice available, immediately outside the door to bring your core temperature down. There was an additional outdoor pool, which included a current path to do some water walking, in another area of that pool there were jets to have a whirlpool experience. Although the bath had a large number of guests that day, the facility was large enough that it never felt crowded. There were sunchairs near all of the outdoor pools, so it was easy to find a place to rest between activities. There were also multiple toilets available in different parts of the bath.

Beautiful bath with many pools. You can easily spend several very relaxing hours here. The only problem is that regular customers are very mean, they think they own the place. They send you away from their usual spot, they block they whirlpool but if you stay a few minutes, they complain, etc. Staff seem to support their very exclusive behaviour.

Out of many Thermal Spa in Budapest, I chose Lukasz Spa coz' it is not yet overrun by tourists. And it was a wonderful meditative experience. But, there is always a but, it is hard to find around there is only a little signage in English. Remember bath slippers and bathing cap. I paid 4100HUF and got a closed shower cubicle for changing.

Lukács Bath is an exceptional destination for relaxation and rejuvenation. The price is definitely worth it, considering the array of amenities it offers. From saunas to swimming pools, and a variety of other pools, the options are plentiful. The cleanliness of the facilities is commendable, and the staff is incredibly helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience. Moreover, the wellness opportunities available, including massages and even a unique beer spa, add an extra level of indulgence. Whether you're seeking tranquility or a luxurious pampering session, Lukács Bath is a must-visit spot on the map.

First of all, you are required to wear a flip flop. At the time of this review, it costs 4000 HUF if you want to buy one there. Also, for all pools except the leisure pool you need a swimming cap, which costs 2000 HUF there. The bath itself is very nice. It has some swimming pools and a leisure pool with a very good temperature of around 30 degrees Celsius. The layout of the building is very confusing, almost like a labyrinth, but you have enough signage in english.

The place is beautiful and very relaxing , you can swim or either have a message or a tan , it very fitting if you are looking for a calm swim . The place is really clean and offers students and foreigners discounts and is next to main public transportation lanes (around 8euros for 4 hours) , the staff are friendly and speak decent English . A very excellent recommendation for people who wanna have some fun or just chill in the sun .

Probably the best baths in Budapest as they are among the most historical ones but not too touristy. Indeed they are attended mostly by locals. In general very clean and not too crowded. I suggest to go early in the morning or late at night as the afternoons can get busy. Sauna world is worth it for a couple of euro more than the regular ticket.

It was amaziiiingg! It is less than the half price of the most touristic ones(baths). However, it has 4 different hot baths inside, 2 cold baths inside and 3 cold baths outside and 4 saunas. Also a beer bath 🍻It was calm, cheap and local :) It was full with locals, very few tourists. It was clean, the staff was very helpful whenever we were lost, they walked with us all the way. Also, even though I forgot my student id, they charged me for the student discount even though I couldn’t prove it ♥️ turkish baths ♥️

I spent an amazing afternoon here. Yes, it is a bit of a labyrinth but that makes it fun to explore, and no you will not understand all signs as a tourist but isn't that normal abroad? I really liked this place and was completely refreshed when I left. If I would visit Budapest again, I would immediately come back.

We visited because of budapest card. Didn’t have too much of expectation but the experience was really good. The thermal bath itself was nothing out of the ordinary, water is not very hot so wasn’t as good. However, the best thing was the swimming pool and the exercise equipment on the roof top. You can also sun bath there.

I love this plase as I did in last 22years. This year prices moved up alot, service moved down as sauna word are is closed. Opening time shorter 1 hours. The thermal water quality is same I think the best in Budapest.

Great experience. Discount for students. Hot outdoor pools. Entrance fee is for all day until 10 pm. Easy transportation, tram stops just in front of the spa. Don’t forget to take towels, if you don’t want to pay for them. Nice sauna.

Really cool experience. It helps a lot if you speak Hungarian. There are lots of pools and hallways and services. VERY easy to get lost. I thought the best experiences were 1) the super old hot tub in the brick turret and 2) the 3 pools immediately beside it. My wife liked the outdoor pool with the lazy river.

Less touristic, smaller scale thermal baths. They have a very good layout between hot thermal pools at different temperatures and cold dips. All the thermal pools are indoors. There are many different saunas, steam rooms and aroma therapy chambers available - even nudist saunas (you need a towel to cover for that). If you’re planning to swim in the outdoor pools you need to have a swimming cap. They accept payments by card, and give discounts to student cards.

Value for money thermal bath in a beautiful "vintage" building. The outdoor pool was not crowded, however the 'thermal zone' indoors was very crowded (and the water felt less clean). The thermal zone is so beautiful though, it's worth it. The place itself is like a maze, luckily I had someone with me otherwise being with no glasses on, I'd have gotten lost a thousand times.

Lukacs Bath is one of the best in Budapest, is a historic indoor/outdoor thermal bath, heated by natural hot springs. All pools and four saunas can be used by all guests except for the optional area of the sauna world, which contains five more saunas, ice cooling pool, igloo and heated roman bench. We enjoyed a lot, they have two swimming pools - one of these is cold swimming pool (temperature around 24 degree), another one is warm pool(temperature around 26 degree Celsius), several thermal pools (from 20°C to 46°C) and a fitness park. They also have dry sauna and a steam room. They provides various VIP services - Luxury refreshing massage, refreshing massage, Harmony aroma massage etc offcourse it's cost from your pocket. You can buy towel, bathrobe, swim cap, bathing costumes. They have lockers to keep your belongings, which is accessible using the the key they provides it. Overall experience is very good, I must visit again. You will find many locals over there.

The most flexible and reasonably priced bathhouse in Budapest, offering both seasonal and social category discounts (student and senior). Comfortable and clean. Recreational swimming and rooftop fitness equipment. Don't worry about exploring all the available areas within the Lukacs Bathhouse

Great way to relax in Budapest is to visit one of many baths located there. Lukacs Bath may lack the pomp of Gellert Bath, but they offer a peace and quiet. The hottest pool I found had 40 degrees and coolest had 20 degrees. In my opinion the leisure pool in the lowest floor is the best.

  • 5/5 Elīna S. 9 months ago on Google
A place popular by locals, not crowded, no lines at the cash desk, possibly the cheapest thermal waters in Budapest. Don't forget to take slippers with you. And swimming cap is needed for swimming pools, but you don't need it for thermal baths and leisure pool. It is not easy to navigate the rooms and pools, even the second time we were there we got lost :)

  • 5/5 Lucian M. 9 months ago on Google
Great thermal baths to visit in Budapest for a cheaper price than the other since it’s not so full of tourist. I paid 10 euros for a day pass where you have a locker and a wifi bracelet for it. You have swimming pools and saunas included in the price

Nice experience! There is very little information in English and it’s not very clear how to get to the various places from the locker rooms. I just followed some other people and wound up at the various indoor baths which were pretty crowded. Somehow I found my way to the outdoor bath which was the best part in my opinion! I don’t mean the swimming pool where you need a cap, this was a very wide bath with jet massage stations and a circular part with a current that forces you to walk round and round. The outside bath area was great for relaxing and people watching, and much less claustrophobic in feeling than the inside area. It would be nice if the signage was better but oh well, this is much less touristy than the other baths in the city, hence the cheaper price!

Visited Lukacs Baths on a Monday before 1pm, there was almost no waiting line but when I came out around 4 there was a huge line outside. The baths are ok, unfortunately very crowded and noisy inside (you can climb to the roof if you need a quiet place to rest). It was not so friendly to navigate as a foreigner as there are just few translations to English (did not find any staff to ask) and you can easily get lost inside. I went to this place because it was included in the Budapest card, I got free time access to the pools, baths and a WiFi bracelet for the lockers.

This was a return visit to Budapest so I wanted to take advantage and visit as many spas as possible. Lukacs Bath was a relaxing and traditional experience. I enjoyed the outdoor pools and the labyrinth of thermal spas/ saunas scattered inside this architecturally beautiful building. Bonus, check out the rooftop sun terrace to perfect your tan.

Went here on St. Stephen's Day on a Sunday so I would imagine it was busier than normal. The thermal baths were absolutely packed so we skipped those. The outside swimming pools were very nice. Would recommend a visit, it's very affordable and has a nice variety of pools and thermal baths. We stayed for about an hour, still worth it!

Less touristy then other baths. Friendly prices, a daily tickets includes bracelet which gets you your own locker and permission for both thermal and swimming pool and a sauna. Pools are only outdoors - but the water is so hot that you can go whenever. Thermal baths and swimming area are seperated. Don't forget your towel and flipflops, otherwise you will pay for them a lot more than you pay for a daily ticket!! Ridiculous prices. For swimming pool it is necessary to wear a swimming cap. Inside: lockers, changing cabinets, toilettes, showers, hair drier available. A little bar/shop to buy some food or get a coffee. Easily reachable by public transport. Reservation not necessary, unless you want to buy a private bath for 2 people.

Very well maintained facility, with indoor baths and outdoor pools. I hoped the water would be warmer, like the inside thermal bath, but it was fun being in the pool while it rained. The spa world is extra, and do not hesitate to take a cabin! (small private changing booth you can leave your bag and coat and lock it.) Not too crowded doring the weekdays.

Gorgeous setting where you can find real zen, with a range of pool types and temperatures. Saunas, steam rooms and cold pools. Excellent value for money. There's also a bit that took us by surprise in the main outdoor pool you'll love to try!

Difficult to understand where the entrance is, in case you are not a local. But inside, everything is Very Well organised. Changing pools from Hot to Cold water temperatures is so revitalising.! Amazing experience is the circular water stream of the "outside" pool, that makes you floating around endlessly.!

It has a special atmosphere for sure but it would need some renovation. Also, till January 2022 the saunas are being rebuilt so don’t count with the sauna until then. (People were standing inside the one that was working.) Also, as there are no limitations regarding my the headcount, all the pools are exceeding the maximum recommended amount of humans :/ (Can influence water quality..) The outside pool was nice with the lights.
