According to the hype they have been one of the best confectionery in Hungary for like 50 years or so, amount others but the biggest name might be Zserbó cukrászda. They are definitely the most successful and biggest confectionery of the country. They use real, authentic recipes and ingredients only and not additives or hydrogenated oils, syrups etc but butter, milk, whipping cream, sugar etc. Although, according to modern nutrition we don't need so much sugar as they put in their products so you may find they a bit too sweet . The finest beigli (Christmas rolls) we have received here! See the photos

This place is a hidden gem. I would never go unless the tour guide from the caves would have send me. But everything. It’s amazing. The entire street smells like heaven.

This confectionery is extremely popular for a reason. The selection of cakes, ice creams, chocolates etc. is huge. And most importantly they taste amazing. Very high qualit ingedients are used, yet they are reasonably priced. Expect to wait for a long time in the queue, even thought the place is big, they have so many customers that waiting for your order takes a very long time.

The cakes are fine, nothing extra, but the service is terribly slow, don't go there unless you want to spend at least half an hour standing in line.

One of the best cakes shop in Budapest, If you’re looking for classic cream cakes. Fair prices. If you want to eat on spot it’s only standing up.

Products are good, however the queueing sytem is miserable compared to the visitor numbers. Coming here means át least 30 minute waiting time and a lot of stress due to lack of queue management system.

Excellent and cheap cake shop. Only drawback is that there is always a 15-20 min wait, but it's worth it.

Probably the best pasty shop in Budapest and in whole Hungary. Love the E-80 cake. The only downside is that you always have to wait a lot on line, it's not open on Mondays and it closes way too soon compared to the demand.

We used to come here a lot, but since after the COVID-19 era, something changes and now not only is it more expensive (they already raised prices before the pandemic hot actually), less comfortable with also the long wait (and less seating, see below), the taste is just not the same as before (it's actually like they hired a new chef) and the is less space to seat and enjoy a coffee or ice cream (they make you feel like you should that it and leave as fast as possible), We just stopped going and ordering deliveries from them, If you read so far, you might like my review - in that case I'd be greatlul if you would kindly please press the "Like" button on my review אם קראתם עד כאן, אנא שקלו לציין שהביקורת עזרה לכם על ידי סימון הלייק, תודה

Very normal prices and great quality of cakes. For sure we will be back to Daubner. After renovation it looks even better. What I saw they have parking garage that you can use. Not sure if is free or no- but next time I will try. 😀.

The best pastry shop in Budapest! Great selection of cakes and ice cream. Many kinds of pastries and great coffee. Big queues during the day, but it goes fast and the service is quick and smiling. The ice cream cakes are great and they have a great selection. I've been coming here since I was a kid and it's always the same and great quality. I don't go to any other pastry shop in Budapest, here is the BEST!

The cakes are delicious as well as the pogácsa, bit the portions are getting smaller, the ques are super long, and the staff is not friendly with some rare exception. No real seating area in the winter.

One of the best place for sweets in the city. But they have really good salty stuff also. Try this place, you won't regret it! ;)

The best cake I ate in a long time. I bought 7 slices of cake, 30 pieces of cheese balls and some truffles, for a group of 4. And the next day we were planning on going back again for more hahaha. The slice is not the biggest, but it reflects the price. The place doesn't have enough sitting area, but the takeout option is well performed, the box secures the cakes in place.

There are so many kinds of desserts/cakes to choose from! We got our food fast, the service was perfect and the waiters were so kind. The desserts were delicious and they were the perfect size (at least for me). You can also find some savory things, like potato patties - my favourite! Everything is always so fresh, warm and tasty. It's getting quite expensive nowadays, but it's still worth it. If you want to have a good afternoon with your friends/family, I really recommend this place. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

It certainly lives up to the hype of being the best bakery in Budapest. Excellent cakes and the Gouda cheese scones run out early in the day for a good reason. Not all the staff speaks in English but they try.

Good cakes, but the service!!?? We ordered 2 cakes. Not only does it take longer to pick up an ordered cake than at the normal counters, but if you order a cake for 4:30pm, you have to wait 1 hour for it. And no apologises, nothing. No explanations, nothing. If you order a cake days in advance, you expect it to at least be there. Honesty would have stopped me putting up this review.

This is far the best confectionery in Budapest and Hungary. The taste of cakes, sweets, etc. are still excellent after those long years of operating. The atmosphere has changed a bit as it's not a small local shop anymore, but a large manufactory.

Amazing cakes and pastries. Best I had in Hungary. It is getting pricey nowadays.

  • 5/5 Ildikó K. 9 months ago on Google
Very good products, raisonable prices, good services. Calculate allways long time to wait. Even if there are lots of staff to serve, but there are even more people to wait. It worth to wait!

    My favourite! Very delicious!

A great confectionery with a large selection of cakes and various other sweets, everything tastes good, though their stuff is usually not gourmet level; nor very ingenious; it's just good. Prices reasonable. Only takeaway; there's almost always a crowd.

Old time favourite, all ingredients are natural and good quality. The ice cream is super tasty, they only use natural ingredients so you can really taste the real flavours.

Don’t be scared or put off by the lines here. This is coming from a non-cake person, this place made me wonder why I don’t eat cakes that much. I highly recommend their chocolate cake. I ordered it for my gf on her birthday and she swears it’s at at the top of not the top of her list of good cakes

Delicious pogácsa and an absolutely unique sugar free nutella - love it! 😊 The place is not really cheap but good value for the money.

Well, this cake shop is the place where you don't think it's tasty what you don't like. Every kind of cakes (and ice creams) - be sweet or salty - you like will be heavenly delicious so I can speak only in superlatives about them., I've never been disappointed!

There is queue always. Probably the best confectionery in Buda side. At least in this part of 2nd-3Rd district. Definitely worth a try.

Different to anything I have seen before. Delicious offers, vast choice, typical Hungarian cakes. Everything was so good!

  • 2/5 Alexander S. 1 year ago on Google
Cakes = quite plain, overall OK and good value. Saving grace is that they were not over-sweetened as is often the case in HU, otherwise another* would be lost.. Service = very slow though and the place is not organized efficiently for the traffic they have, only plus here is that they have a good parking for customers. Coffee = OK too for an automatic machine, the staff are untrained though and had to ask me the customer to explain a flat white despite it being on the menu. Overall score only 2/5 as I feel compelled to deduct a star each for the key points above not living up to expectations.

Simply the best place in Budapest for cakes and it seems the only place in Budapest to buy Ice Cream cakes. Great quality and always busy which is a mark of its success. Off road parking is also available as it is required due to the location being on a busy road beside traffic lights.

This is the best suits shop in Budapest!! Cakes are nice but macarons are super good with affordable price.
