In the winter, here is Budapest Christmas Market, and I am more to review the Budapest Christmas Fair and Winter Festival. It’s open daily from 10:00 am till 9:00 pm. Expect to be crowded, especially in the evening. Nice decorations, and that would be all. The food is overpriced, a lot, I mean it’s so expensive that you can eat cheapest at Ritz or Kempinsky Hotel. For example, a kürtöskalács cost around 2000 Ft here, but couple of streets further you’ll find it with 600 Ft. You can buy many souvenirs from here, also a bit overpriced.

Right now, this little park in the shopping district city center is transformed into a massive Christmas village with a long row of food market on one side and another long row of local vendor shops in the other side selling Christmas ornaments, jewelry, artisan leather bags, and other really interesting finds. The price are reasonable and the quality is great because they are all mostly locally hand-made. Do not miss this Christmas village if you happened to visit Budapest right now. And don't forget to bring your vaccine pass because you need it to enter this fun village.

Buy something casual. Doesn't have to be extravagant. 1 hour is enough for the view. I suggest buying tickets for evening, that's when reflection of millions of lights makes everything more beautiful. For me, audio guide added a feeling to the view. You can buy without audio guide too.

Big christmas markets, great food, there's even a beautiful church and tree. Already visited the markets 4 times and every time they're getting better and better. I recommend to visit them if you are in Budapest.

Significantly less shops and smaller crowd than before the covid era. Eating and shopping parts are on different sides of the square now. Nice, but short projected light show on a house wall.

This square is the head of the Vaci Utca shopping street that winds almost all the way to Central Market Hall. It is large and quaint, has amazing cafes such as Gerbeaud's, Vipaldi's, Anna's, and of course the beginning of all the shopping. Great spaces for kids to run around huge statue in the middle, as well as the Metro line Subway stops below ground. This is an important place to know about, especially if you are staying at the intercontinental hotel, or at the Budapest Marriott.

Went here mid December evening for the Christmas market. The queues were very long, took us 20 mins to get a lángos and a chimney cake, both were worth the wait to be fair. What was very unfair was that since I am foreign they charge in Euros by default where it would have saved me 3 euros if it was in Hungarian Forint as I have a no exchange fee credit card. Would be nice if they would tell me this upfront so I can choose which currency I want to pay in

This is one of the world's best music halls. The acoustics are fabulous. Buy tickets well in advance of your trip. The orchestra is usually sold out. If you love classical music this is the place to go.

The atmosphere at the market is festive and lively. The stalls are decorated with Christmas lights and ornaments, and there is often live music playing. The food at the market is a mix of Hungarian and international cuisine. There are plenty of traditional Hungarian dishes to choose from, such as langos, gulas, and beigli. There are also stalls selling international fare, such as pizza, pasta, and crepes. The drinks at the market include hot mulled wine, beer, … There are also stalls selling coffee and tea.

A lovely market here but OH so busy. We visited on December 17th at around 3pm and it was chock-a-block with people walking around the stalls, queues around 15 people deep for food. As the evening progressed it got busier and busier to the point where you’re shoulder to shoulder and moving as the crowd moves. The actual stalls are lovely with a good mix of crafts, souvenirs, food and gifts. A very beautiful setting.

I've been to a lot of Christmas markets in Europe and this is definitely one of the best. Not as many merchants this year because of covid, but that made it easier to walk around. Just get ready for this food prices outrageous. This is a gorgeous area to walk around any time of the year

A great place to visit right now as the 27th International Danube Carnival Festival is going on between the 3rd and 12th June. Everyday between 4.00pm and 9.00pm there are performances on stage of Hungarian Dance and Music.

It's the very heart of the city. Vibrant, but still historic. Accessible directly by the oldest metro line on the continent. Around Christmas it transforms to a huge christmas festival - one of the best in Europe. It has a magical atmosphere you will always remember. Don't miss it!

Beautiful decorations above the streets. Lot of food and shopping options. Must try : Hot Wine. For me the sight of a full roasted pig was unique. Many high end brands shops nearby too. Take the metro yellow line which stops right in the middle of the market. Or even red line is just 400m away.

christmas market (bigger than the one near the cathedral). food is like more than twice as much here compared to many nice highly rated restaurants nearby so i wouldn’t recommend trying hungarian food here. way overpriced. but it’s fun to walk around and try the drinks and snacks (overpriced too but not a meal).

  • 3/5 Flet 1 year ago on Google
In winter this is where the biggest Budapest Christmas market is held, so expect a lot of people. It was nice but the Christmas market wasn't anything spectacular as they present it in media. You can try all different kinds of traditional Hungarian dishes and drinks for fairly decent prices. You can also buy all kinds of hand-made products and crafts.

  • 4/5 kish l. 1 year ago on Google
A lovely place for a walk with plenty of stalls selling everything from Hungarian food to Artisan products. Only thing letting it down is the prices, £14 for a hot dog and £17 for 2 mohitos (that were actually just Gin & Tonic)

It’s a nice square, easy to get go on the underground metro. The prices of the food was super inflated and much higher than the prices we have paid in other locations so far on our trip. The food was good from the booth, but not worth the extra price

(Translated by Google) The square is located behind the Pest Vigado and can rightfully be called the most beautiful and elegant square in the capital. Throughout the history of its existence, it bore many names, including Gisella Square, and Mihai Karoya, Staraya Teatralnaya, etc. And only in 1926 it was named Vörösmarty. The famous Gerbeaud confectionery is located next to the square, and Christmas markets are also held here every year.

The eponym of the square Mihály Vörösmarty one of the foremost poets of Hungary, author of the prayer of the nation, Szózat. The monument was erected in 1908. The conservation and exhibition pavilion was designed to protect and highlight the emblematic monument standing at the heart of the square worthily enough to the rich and inspire oeuvre of Vörösmarty. Although Carrara marble is beautiful, it is not suited to the frigid winters of Budapest in a long run, hence it’s winterization from November to March every year.

It’s a busy square bustling with tourists most of the day. It’s in the Pest side, host to several restaurants and shops. The place is busy with buskers playing music and Segway guides selling the tours. There’s a c&a and hard rock coffee in the corner. The end of Váci street leads into this square, so hard to miss it.

  • 5/5 Leonóra R. 3 years ago on Google
It's wonderful! The whole square was renovated recently, there is a very old and famous (but not cheap) cakeshop there in a beautiful building. The Váci street starts there, the Fashion street; and there is a passage too to the Danube with unbelievably nice view of the hills of Buda and the castle quarter.
