The hotel is an old monastery as you can tell by the name. It’s located on the Buda side. The staff is kind, everything is clean. We stayed in the suite - very big room, appreciated quite a lot the bath. The room was very nice, spacious with nice windows. Nespresso coffee machine and coffee capsules in the room. The breakfast was ok, but expected a little bit more.

I spent 2 nights with my 11yo children. We overall liked the hotel, it is a historical monastery building and you can see it when you are in the hallways. The rooms are modern and spacious enough: we had a family apartment consisting in a first room with a sofa bed and a second room with a double bed. The bathroom is amazing, huge and well decorated. The staff was great for some, really not agreeable for others. The breakfast is not okay, we went around 9.30 the first morning and most of the plates were empty (and not refilled), the coffee machine did not work, the choice is very limited, the croissants are awful......the next morning we went at 9.00 hoping for a better service, there we were not greeted properly the staff was unfriendly claiming there was no available table (although there was one but not cleaned) and sending us to the other room, the variety was still poor and the quality way below expectations. All 3 of us were really disappointed. After this long message a little tip : on the opposite side of the road there is a small Asian place, with a couple preparing the food, we found it really good food for the value.

I cannot stress enough how much I loved my stay at the Monastery Boutique Hotel! From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with the warmest welcome by the incredibly friendly staff. But what truly sets this hotel apart is their remarkable manager, Andrea Tippai. She is the heart and soul of this establishment, and it's evident in every aspect of the hotel's exceptional service. Andrea's dedication to her guests is unparalleled. She goes above and beyond to ensure that every visitor feels at home and well taken care of. Her knowledge of the local area is truly impressive, as she effortlessly guided me to all the must-visit attractions nearby. Her recommendations for restaurants and activities were spot-on, making my stay even more memorable. The hotel itself is simply stunning. The rooms are elegant and beautifully designed, providing a tranquil and comfortable environment. The attention to detail is impeccable, and I felt like royalty during my entire stay. The location is also perfect, with easy access to all the major attractions and just a stone's throw away from everything you could possibly need. But what truly made my stay unforgettable was the genuine kindness and warmth of the staff, all thanks to the incredible leadership of Andrea. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, every staff member went out of their way to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. It's clear that they take immense pride in their work, and it truly shows. If you're looking for a truly exceptional hotel experience, look no further than the Monastery Boutique Hotel. It's the perfect blend of luxury, convenience, and heartfelt hospitality. And thanks to Andrea Tippai's exceptional management, this hotel has become a true gem in the hospitality industry. I cannot recommend it enough!

We stayed 4nights at the Monastery in October of 2021. Then came back to Bucharest in April 2022, returned again in May stayed another 7nights in total. The perfect location!! The rooms are quite, decent in size, with central AC, some rms offer river views. All rooms have top quality finishings. The breakfast is superior. I would like to send a big thank you! to ALL the staff at the Monastery, for your help and support in our adventures on bicycling the euro velo 6 route 👍 we love Hungary. Located at Halas utca, very near to Batthany ter from where we can get metro, hev(local train). Clean rooms, but they are not identical. Some rooms are big while some are small. Good service, complimentary breakfast. There is a bar, garden restaurant. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful. Outdoor parking space infront of hotel.

Great location in the for of buda hills. 10 minute walk up to Fisherman's Bastion, even less of a walk to Batthyany Square which has all the transport links you need to visit the city

Fantastic hotel, location was perfect and staff were so attentive. They even surprised us with a bottle of champagne for my birthday. The restaurant and bar area are an added bonus.

The hotel is located 100 metres from Danube and tram station with a magnificent view of the parliament house. The rooms are clean and beautifully furnished with all the facilities required for a short or a long stay. The staff are friendly, caring, and fluent in English. The complementary breakfast is served in the beautiful backyard. I can not recommend this hotel enough. I'm definitely going back in the future.

This is a very nice hotel with a fantastic location next to the River (Buda side) and at the foot of the Castle, a 3min walk. The hotel has a lot of charm. The room i stayed was small, simple but modern and comfortable. The breakfast was simply amazing, few choices in a mini buffet but home made and delicious foods. We did not try the restaurant in the hotel which apparently features in the Michelin guide. I felt that the hotel was still a bit pricey for Budapest but nevertheless a very positive experience. I will certainly return

Lovely spacious rooms, nice breakfast, helpful staff. Arranged pick up from the airport, and taxi to the train 4 days later. Convenient to the tram and subway.

Lovely clean hotel in a quiet part of Budepest so ideal for a relaxing break.Rooms are spacious (we got a family room),bed very comfortable, airconditioned.Breakfast was good, selection of hot and cold food, lovely pate and crispy bacon. We didn't eat at the restaurant in the evening as it looked a bit quiet. Only dissappointment was coffee.Nescafe sachets in the room (weirdly enough on our last day they brought in a proper coffee machine to our room,a bit late), only 2 pots of uht milk available and not replaced when used.Coffee in the breakfast room was also weak. Otherwise a lovely spotlessly clean hotel.

Staff besides young man on reception duty at night who was lovely. The restaurant/bar appears to be run by staff who care little for guests and on checking in at 10.30pm advised us that if we wanted to dine in we should go straight through (our flight was delayed landing by 30 mins.) only to be told at the restaurant itself they were closed! What ensued was a frantic search locally for a meal, but everywhere had stopped service! We opted for a 24hour shop opposite and gathered a picnic for the room. On returning we requested some ice only to be directed back to the bar where they were closing up and in the process of mopping a tiny area behind the bar, when ice was requested there was an air of resentment displayed by the mopping woman and what can only be described as a laughable pantomime worthy of Fawlty Towers, whereby this lady stepped as if in a minefield full of explosives to reach an ice bucket. The whole attitude and display so unwelcoming of guests that I question if she should even be employed in hospitality industry at all. Suffice to say we never revisited the bar or restaurant facilities again throughout our stay.

Stayed from Sunday to Thursday. Room was very clean and spacious, still had some of the original Monastery features on display but in a modern context. Only had breakfast and wine in the evening as we were out exploring Budapest during the day, but both were equally enjoyable.

Highly recommend it! But please let them know ahead in time if you have a car. Limited parking lots. They also allow a small pet per room. Location: FANTASTIC: a few minutes walk from the Chain Bridge Buda side, and 10-15 minutes walk from the Cathedral in the Buda Castle Complex. Service: outstanding, they even let us know how to get around the area. Rooms: very clean, very large, literally rooms of a mansion.

We didn’t stay at this hotel but went to dinner at their backyard which is UMO. When we went in to use the bathroom, did we realize that the building is the hotel. The shared facility is nice: modern and tastefully appointed.

Fabulous boutique hotel. Didn't want to leave. So artfully designed and decorated. Service from the front desk(Reka) was exceptionally helpful and hardworking. Hope I can stay longer next time.

If I could give more than five stars to this Hotel, I genuinely would. The room was spacious and modern and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was so good, with a wide variety of options! But most importantly, the staff was so attentive and went out of their way to meet every request I made. I will make sure to recommend it to everyone who wants to visit Budapest!

Great location, unique building, and great service. We had a room with no shower but a bathtub, which made getting ready for 3 people a little tricky, but the staff were eager to accommodate us and switch us to another family room with a shower. The rooms were. Lean and modern. 24/7 desk and quite part of town. Very easy access to tram and metro line 2, or a short uphill walk to the castle district! Really enjoyed our stay here!

A Mediocre Stay at Monastery Hotel in Budapest Our recent stay at Monastery Hotel in Budapest was overall satisfactory, but it fell short of creating a memorable experience. The hotel lacked that special touch to distinguish itself. The staff, while polite, seemed to provide only a mediocre level of service, and interactions were not particularly noteworthy. The breakfast, a crucial aspect of any stay, left much to be desired. The options were limited, and the overall organization of the staff could have been better. However, the building itself was aesthetically pleasing, and the cleanliness, especially in the shower and bath areas, was commendable. On a positive note, the hotel's location was convenient, providing easy access to key attractions. In summary, Monastery Hotel offers a decent stay, but there's room for improvement in terms of service quality, breakfast variety, and overall guest experience.

The staff was very kind and the room was both comfortable and clean. It is located very close to the majority of the monuments and it also hosts some very tasteful restaurants.

It was a pleasure to stay at the hotel. The room was big and very comfortable. The private parking was a big plus at that part of the city. And also is a dog friendly!

Very good position, most of the Buda POIs are within walking distance. Very good breakfast, secured parking (very important in Budapest), acceptable prices for every budget. Recommended

really enjoyed my experience staying here. the breakfast was really good the room was very clean and comfortable and new but the space still had an old charm to it. the area was also great for walking and taking the bus

Perfectly located, rooms were nicely furnished, bathroom spacious. Parking Spot around the corner, for an extra pay. Just the breakfast needs more organization… 2 waiters and 1 coffee machine taking care of 20 people is not sufficient. Staff-guest-interaction was a but too neutral. Other then that good place to stay

Superb hotel with a secret garden at the legs of the castle hill on the Buda side of the city. The Danube is just off the street, all major sights are easily accessible. Very nice receptionists, clean rooms, great value for money. The best 4star on the Buda side.

A beautiful hotel that merges Hungarian tradition and modernity. It is in a perfect spot to visit the city by foot and great if you are travelling by car as it has a private parking lot. The staff has been very professional and helpful and the rooms were spotless and decorated with taste. The breakfast included was absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed our time there, for sure we will come back!

Very well located accommodation. In the heart of Budapest, at the foot of the Buda mountains, a few meters from the banks of the Danube, a hotel built in a monastery where we received a quiet and tidy room accordingly. The staff was very polite the whole time, and when I approached them about a health problem, they took great care and empathically helped me with everything until the end of our vacation, so I could go to the airport and then home healthy again. I can only recommend. I would give it 15 stars if I could.

Best Hotel i've stayed in so far. Very clean, friendly staff an charming garden bar/restaurant.At nights it's very quiet so we had a good rest, unique design an attention to details. Also it's basically in the heart of Budapest so it was very easy to have a relaxing walk through main attractions. Suitable fir couples/honeymooners or romantic escaped. They also have good wifi and small perks for guests. Amazing place , loved it! highly recommend!

What a find, lovely sized room with coffee machine, clean and comfortable with some lovely features of the old monastry. Breakfast is fantastic in the courtyard conservatory. Superb travel links(especially if you use Budapest Go app) with tram and metro just two minutes walk away. Very close to funicular for buda castle or walk the steps to Fisherman's bastion if you're feeling fit. Excellent position, friendly staff.
