We
stayed
4
nights
at
Anantara
New
York
Palace
in
July
2021
and
were
very
satisfied
with
both
the
room,
amenities,
the
very
(very!)
helpful
staff
and
the
breakfast.
Unfortunately
there
was
a
misunderstanding
from
our
booking
company,
which
resulted
in
no
vacancy
for
that
type
of
room,
but
the
staff
were
very
forthcoming
and
chose
to
upgrade
our
room
to
a
junior
suite.
At
our
arrival
we
were
presented
with
a
standard
room,
which
we
hadn’t
booked
-
and
the
particular
room,
was
dark,
with
a
small
window,
the
air
was
stale
and
we
got
the
impression
that
this
was
a
room
that
hadn’t
been
used
for
quite
a
while.
That
room
was
definitely
not
a
5
star
room.
The
junior
suite
however
was
amazing.
Spacious,
light,
the
AC
was
quiet,
2
big
windows,
luxurious
bathroom.
The
room
was
worthy
of
5
stars.
The
breakfast
downstairs
underwent
a
change
in
experience
and
offering
during
our
stay
and
it
resulted
in
an
exceptional
breakfast
experience
as
well.
On
the
last
morning
we
had
breakfast
as
room
service,
and
it
was
delicious.
Coffee
made
to
order
and
freshly
made
juice
excellent
as
well.
We
arrived
by
car,
and
that
experience
was
actually
bad.
At
the
street
entrance
a
sign
informed
that
the
hotel
wouldn’t
cover
any
damages
to
the
car,
the
parking
floors
looked
unguarded
and
dirty,
smelly
and
with
unrepaired
damages
to
several
structures.
The
signage
was
scarce,
and
the
main
elevator
was
broken
(we
were
on
level
-3),
so
we
had
to
find
another
elevator
that
ended
in
an
empty
(abandoned?)
conference
hall
at
floor
0
so
we
were
very
confused
at
how
to
get
to
the
hotel.
There
was
no
sign
telling
guests
which
button
to
press
or
where
to
go.
In
the
end
we
found
the
hotel
reception
and
were
shown
that
first
dark
almost
windowless
room
-
so
our
first
impression
of
the
hotel
was
not
good.
Fortunately
-
with
the
help
of
the
very
friendly
staff
-
our
stay
ended
up
to
be
worthy
of
5
stars.
Thank
you
🙏🏻
