Rock Chapel

Tourist attraction Place of worship

🫤 This was on most Google searches of things to look at in Budapest so I added it to my list. Turned up and not only is it small but it's also been left open and looks like a rubbish tip that people may be sleeping in. Seriously disappointed and would not recommend the tram over if anyone's visiting. People often mention small, church,

Approx. 20min hike. There are many ways up. In the morning unfortunately very dirty from the day before (weekend) The view at the top is a reward for all hikers.

A beautiful church in the rocks, with Polish accents inside. It is definitely worth visiting here when visiting the Gellert Baths.

Place with a special flair. Catholic church in a cave. The pleasant room temperature of 20 degrees is a relief, especially on hot summer days. Entry costs 850 HUF for adults. You can only pay in cash here. Also in euros. There is an audio tour upon entry that contains little information about the place, but rather a presentation of the Catholic cause. It's worth taking a look at the rock church - even if it's a short pleasure.

"The Budapest Rock Church is located at the foot of Gellért Hill at the Liberty Bridge. The church overlooks the Gellért Bath and has a great view of the Liberty Bridge and the Danube."

This church is very interested, it was built for the memory of St. Paul the hermit.

It is as rocky as it goes by its name. It is small and not very tidy.

The Gellért Hill Cave was built in the 1920s, but the beautiful little chapel was closed from 1951 to 1989 due to the Soviet occupation.

Interesting chapel nearly 100 years old built around 1920.

Unfortunately it only convinced us from the outside. You pay a small entrance fee and you even get a free audio guide. However, it is overloaded with information and is therefore sometimes boring.

It was closed during our visit to the city. I think some works were being done. From the outside its a funny building but nothing very impressive. Kind of a small one. Looks like it's not in a very good state (and probably that's the reason of the works). Worth to take a look at it before you go to way up the hill.

One guy was awesome who served us. The other guy is horrible. If he cannot behave with people why is he working with them.... He should retire

Lovely place to walk and enjoy the view, good place for kids and not easy to walk for olds! There is not any shop, coffee or water in there! Put on your walking shoes and ready to climb 💯
