Deák Ferenc, or in English, Ferenc (first name) Deák (last name). One of the most important politicians of the XIX century in Hungary. He was one of the leaders in the fight for freedom and revolution of 1848-1849 against the Habsburg dynasty. The Kingdom of Hungary wanted total independence from the House of Habsburg. The revolution was unsuccessful, but it was one of the most important steps for the long journey that Hungary went through to accomplish independence from Austria.

Experience a casual pub where you can enjoy the cool air and the night view. Similar to the Han River in Korea, but with a different feel

I have to admit that it is exaggerated, the postamens itself is as big as a mausoleum, it removes Ferenc Deák from me too much. I understand that we have to look up to the "sage of the country", but I can't actually see him properly, he looks down on me from afar. It is true that the age when it was made explains why the monument was realized in this way. "When Ferenc Deák died in 1876, it was decided to erect a statue modeled after him, which happened in 1887. 16 entries were submitted to the tender, of which three were selected, the first to be awarded was a design by Adolf Huszár. However, Adolf Huszár died in 1885 Adolf Keszler and Edé Mayer were asked to finish the statue under the supervision of Alajos Stóbl. The pedestal was designed by Albert Schickedanz." (Translated by Google) More than a real square, which is a lively urban place, it appears to be a void filled with the chaotic vehicular traffic of Budapest. A pity, because it would be a perfect fifth for the extraordinary buildings that overlook it and, above all, for the symbolic bridge of the chains! @gargio76

It was created in 1887 by the sculptors Adolf Huszár, Ede Mayer and Adolf Keszler, and the architect Albert Schickedanz. Above, below the seated Ferenc Deák, there are four statues. The standing figure of Justice can be seen from the front, Education and National Progress from the right, the Compromise group from the left, and the standing figure of Patriotism from the back. Ferenc Deák (Söjtör, October 17, 1803 – Budapest, January 28, 1876) was a Hungarian politician who was considered the wise man of the country.

Imposing statue dedicated to one of the most important Hungarian politicians who lived in the 19th century (not to be confused with his footballer counterpart); he was so popular that it was decided to build a statue dedicated to him even before his death, even if it was completed later; it is a rather tall monument which between the Basement (in marble) and the Statue (in bronze) is almost five metres.

We passed this monument while riding the "On-Off Bus" on and about the streets of Budapest and stopped here to see more of the area and learn about the 19th century man who led the march in an attempt to break his country from the Austrian Empire. It is a large sculpture with a lot of details. We enjoyed our trip to Budapest immensely.
