An amazing building, nothing to add. My wife and I are both architects and have being traveling the world for the last 15 month. Both of us agreed that this is most beautiful building we have seen. The symbiosis of this building with nature is great. Well done details and organic forms are present though out the design. Very much recommended to visit if you got some free time! SUCH AMAZE, MUCH WOW!

I have been many times to Budapest, but never really had the time to visit its museums. So this was my first and it was absolutely amazing. The whole permanent exhibition is a delightful journey from the very origin of music, going through Hungarian folk music and all different eras, on top of that it's 100% interactive. If you wanna experience it at ease, make sure to reserve at least 3 hours, especially if you visit also the dome. Finally, what to say about the building? A modern, functional and beautiful place in the middle of the City Park. Kudos also to the staff who were extremely helpful and friendly.

Nice modern space. Beautiful architecture and amazing interior. Minimalistic and calm for the soul. Walki g in it was enough but they offer optiones for entertainment. There was the dome of sound and space music which is an interactive activity. They have 2 cafes and a gift shop I recommend visiting this place if you are near by or enjoying a walk in the park.

I would definitely rank it among Budapest's top must-visit spots. The architecture of the building is truly a masterpiece, and the atmosphere inside is simply delightful. During our visit to the House of Music, we were fortunate to catch two captivating exhibitions focused on music and culture. These exhibitions were not only wonderfully presented but also provided a deep and engaging exploration of the rich tapestry of music and culture. The attention to detail and the immersive displays truly made the experience unforgettable, leaving us with a profound appreciation for the intertwined worlds of music and culture on display.

It's a gorgeous modern building infused with nature and music. The headphones are super helpful, informative and gives you the freedom to experience at your own pace. The only disappointment was that you have to pay to use the restroom. After you pay a pretty expensive entrance fee, you pay for toilet usage. This is pretty unique around the world, most countries (including 3rd world countries) have free toilets where they charge you for entrance.

Exceptional organic architectural work by Sou Fujimoto (born 1971). The acoustics of the concert hall is very good despite the glass walls. Worth to visit daytime and evening too.

A museum with a real twist. Culturally very important, permanent exhibition of the influence of music in the changes during the soviet occupation. The building fits beautifully in its surroundings despite its dramatic and edgy design. The music exhibition is a must do on the list when visiting. There are explanations in both English and Magyar. The tour is interactive with loads of memorabilia and sound booths. As a foreigner I’d like to see some of the archive material from the soviet state officials who controlled/tried to control the lyrics and actions of the rebellious musicians. It would show both sides. There are perhaps interesting comparisons to make in the 21st century Obanist era of control of media and radio stations and universities. A great exhibition. Well done to all involved.

Strikingly cool building designed by a Japanese architect. It's nice to walk around and take pictures. Has 2 cafes there and open to the public. The exhibitions are paid. Located in city park. There are some interactive musical instruments outside. I suggest combining it with the museum of Ethnography

Probably one of the nicest museums I have seen recently. It offers a digital, interactive journey discovering music from many angels. You get your own device with a headphone. It is with a smart system, wherever you go it will play the content according to your standing in front of the different “music arts” This new building shows a symbiosis with the nature. Buy your tickets in advance online. Calculate 2-3 hours to visit the permanent exhibition. There is a good cafe inside, toilet and the underground parking is in the nearby but it is close to public transport stops.

This was such a beautiful surprise in the park. We just walked through the building, the architecture is amazing. We had coffee in the coffee shop on the first floor. They had vegan milks and the coffee was surprisingly good. Very good vibes, you only see the huge trees from the balcony.

Lovely modern architecture for a place that hosts musical and cultural events. Well worth visiting when in Budapest and you can also enjoy a coffee or ice cream at the location

Beautiful modern architecture, that took into consideration the trees in the site when it was designed and built. Definitely wanna buy a ticket and see some concerts in there one day. The park outside is also dedicated to music, both adult and children can play music in the little park attached to the building on instrument that’s built on the park!

This is the coolest place for anyone slightly interested in music. The interactive sound exhibition is just so amazing that you completely forget about time. We also saw a short film in the Dome, ate in the cafeteria, walked about in this amazing building, admired the staircase, and finally spent two hours at the permanent exhibition. The bathroom contains sections for children. The playground outside is also music themed. Delightful.

The coolness of this building can't be understated. The building architecture is on another level by incorporating the natural landscape into the design. You'll find full size trees growing through the building on the outdoor stage. It's beautiful, and the yellow silver and white colors compliment the park very well. Photographers will love this. The interior is spacious and includes live music and a museum. Book tickets in advance as it's a popular venue. It's free to walk around the grounds and visit the gift shop.

I haven't experienced anything like this ever before! This museum/concert hall did a great job by integrating technology into music history. You receive an over the ear headphones 🎧 and walk through the history lane of music. They created designated areas where you can interact with the display and time to time forget that you are in a museum. Most fun I ever had in a museum, highly recommend it.

You will want to visit this, when you're in Budapest. It's also near Heroes Square, the Zoo and many other museums which have been wonderfully renovated and/or are still being reconstructed, as part of the Liget Budapest Project, a major cultural urban development project in Budapest city park. You can enter and wander around for free. The circle staircase is a work of art, and I really enjoyed the music elements just outside the building too.

Loved the building. I was just wandering on the city when I found it. Great architecture and people seemed to enjoy it also. I haven't used it but there was a library, music room, cafe, etc.

It was just a wednesday morning but still it was a bit crowded. A lot of people were inside. We couldn't get tickets. But we could look around for free. I suppose a concert would have added a lot to a positive experinece. But the building itself is very interesting, too. And its just a two-mintute walk away from the museum of ethnography.

This was the highlight of my trip! I would recommend booking it advance to go into the sound dome and some of the other features. The temporary exhibition was amazing! Super informative and interesting, and incredibly interactive I learned a lot! It's worth going just to see the building it's beautiful! I also managed to go when they had the independent label fair, so I got some really cool vinyls, you can tell that this place is committed to sharing the musical culture of Hungary and it's delightful, I definitely recommend a visit!

Will return Unfortunately we couldn’t find any concert to attend. Only stayed for coffee. The park perhaps is their Central Park, near the grand bathhouse which we just went to. The design of the structure is beautiful and blends in well. Interior is enchanting. The color scheme is soothing. The cafe has outdoor seating too. The staff is polite. Overall, a great experience and a good coffee break for us.

I didn’t get the chance to go inside because it was Christmas and closed! But just visiting the outside of the building was breathtaking and magnificent! If you’re at all interested in architecture this is a MUST see!

Super place, we've been in Budapest many times before but this is the first time here and it is been great. We are sorry we coduln't do the large tour (we did only the dome and the instruments)

One of the best exhibits I’ve ever been to, in a beautiful music venue. You explore the story of sound — natural, folk, orchestral, rock — in a series of interactive vignettes. Wearing adaptive headphones, the music changes based on where you are standing. Just drift, listen, savor. Plan to spend at least 1-2 hours. It’s magic.

One the most interesting and thought provoking design in Hungary. The Japanese architect managed to mold nature and function together in an ethereal looking building. The concert hall is fantastic, the acoustics is perfect, thanks to the cutting-edge technology. In evening when you are inside the concert hall, you also feel a bit outside, like there were no walls. My favourite building.

This was quite possibly my favourite thing I did on my trip to Budapest. If you're a fan of music (especially classical or folk music, but all types of music are covered in the exhibition), then I highly recommend coming here. I was blown away by this exhibition and how advanced the technology was. You get given high-quality headphones and a device, and as you walk around the exhibition it tracks where you are and shows you the audio relating to whatever you're looking at - it was incredible. The building is also beautifully designed, and I had fun playing with the public "musical instruments" out of the front of the building. I've been to quite a few music-related museums on my trip around Europe, and this one is definitely the best.

It’s been alteady remarked the high level of audio interactivity. To be noted the many projectors that generate lively elements: pictures, books, strained-glasses, holograms and more. Impressive achievement! Architecture is also original, friendly. It’s a spot you should not miss visiting Budapest

Beautiful building, great meeting rooms, clean toilet. Unfortunately there is no parking under the building therefore one has to walk in even when there's heavy rain. It is approx 5 min walk from the underground parking where you can pay by card. The coffee shop worth a mention bas it could be great but it unfortunately isn't. Service was cery rude, the quality of the coffee is poor. The main hall looks and sounds very nice though.

Wow, This is a great addition to the city park I highly recommend a quick visit to see the inside and see if you can buy tickets to whatever is playing. Designed by architect Sou Fujimoto it's a unique balance of movement and nature that you have to feel in person. Take note of how the floors sloop to accentuate the overall feel of movement. Try to go near dark to see it shine with all the lights.

A great experience which tells the story of the development of music (tastes, instruments, techniques) in Europe in a unique and entertaining way. The multi-sensory curation uses technology cleverly and appropriately for an exhibition dependent on sound. Absolutely all content is in English and Hungarian. The interactive elements and accessible presentation of the information would keep younger visitors amused too. Moving at a steady pace but visiting every exhibit, the visit took around 1 hour. A separate ticket is needed for the Sound Dome. Beware of large, loud school groups if you're visiting on weekdays.

Such a beautiful architecture. If you are interested in interesting curves and material mixes do visit this. They have 2 cafes inside (one with a view - on the 1st floor) and you can roam around and enjoy the compelling design. “To reinforce the notion of “synergy and balance with nature” and to bring the experience of music to life through the interaction of light, sound, and nature, the architects used 94 customized heat-insulated and undivided glass panels to form a completely translucent facade, merging the exterior with the interior. The building's roof structure is pierced with 100 crater-like holes, inspired by the varying form of sound waves. “ Sou Fujimoto

Another great example of great architecture in Budapest. This building is stunning and great exemplar of connection between modern architecture and nature. It's located in a park and it's looks like part of it. Trees penetrating the building, organical shape and glass walls make it part of surrounding. And interior is such good such exterior. It's worth to see it and just feel how building can be integrated with nature.
