WARNING TO TRAVELERS! ROBBERIES IN THE DORMS! Two days ago, I was staying in a shared dorm when I noticed that my lock was gone, the metal where the lock had been was bent, and all of my money was gone. I also checked the other lockers in the room and saw that the two other lockers occupied with possessions had been attempted to be robbed and had the metal bent and cut marks on the locks, but luckily, the thief/thieves weren’t able to break into them. Immediately after realizing what happened, I went into the elevator to go downstairs to talk to the front desk. While in the elevator there were two maids, and I frantically told them that someone robbed me, and they responded that they were on the other side of the building which I found as odd as I never assumed it was them or accused them. Everyone staying in our room this week has been robbed, has been attempted to be robbed, or has left the room because they’ve been so scared after this incident. After talking to the front desk and the others staying in my room, I found out that 3 people in the same room had been robbed in the past few weeks and someone else in another room (these are just the people that we know). Each of us was robbed between 2 pm – 5 pm, the locks all had been cut off, and the cleaning staff had been in our rooms cleaning during the time the robberies occurred. Also, we were told by staff that this is the only hall that currently doesn’t have a working security camera. All of us who have been robbed have been told that Selina couldn’t be held responsible even though it was clear that there was a pattern of robberies. Even one of the victims from a few weeks ago knew that the cleaning staff and a manager had been the only people in the room (via CCTV footage), and none of this was ever investigated by the administration.

WORST SELINA EVER. I stayed there. My bag has stolen in lobby. I just recognize 2 mins. I asked them to help me. No one care, I said them please check camera record and they said they need police allow. I went to police lost 2 hours then come back then they said there is no manager and they can't check. Even they don't come with me police office to help. It was my worst day of my life and no one help me. Be careful, someone can stole your stuff and no one even care to speak English to talk police. I am still wait camera record and no once care.

My friend just had her big steel locker and locker broken in to with money and perfume stolen. She was only sharing the room with one other person who was not there at the time, and the cameras showed that only the cleaner had entered with the manager visiting for a brief moment. Nobody wants to accuse the staff but nothing further is being done so if you want to feel safe with your valuables you may want to consider alternative accommodation.

I've been to a few Selinas around the world - this one I'm afraid isn't worth it and would not recommend. Why? 1. The rooftop is closed - due to government regulations - reception told us they couldn't give an update here on when it would open again. Publish this on your website otherwise it is misleading guests!!! 2. It's a tired building, the rooms frankly are drab and in desperate need of love. The bathrooms need a revamp. For aesthetics, choose elsewhere, especially for what you are paying - it's just not worth it. 3. Cleanliness: Our room was also dirty, there was hair in the bath and on the floor in the room. Lacking attention to detail, from a hostel don't ask a lot but cleanliness is a non-negotiable. The perks - it is fantastic location - really really good.

Great location with great restaurants and bars around. Great service and very friendly staffs. (that's all about it) We got tricked by the beautiful photos and lured to book this place while staying in Buenos Aires. Seriously, we are quite disappointed with our stay so far. Minus 1-star for unusable wifi (you can't connect to it throughout our stay here) Minus 1-star for roaches in the room!!! (we kept seeing roaches every day during our stay) Minus 1-star for room quality (all the wall power plugs are so loose, rocky toilet bowl, moldy wall, smelly and leaky AC, rust shower head and broken towel rack) Welcome drink only valid for 30mins from 7pm to 7:30pm 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Seriously, this is the most run-down hotel we have stayed! Stay awayyyyy!!!

Selina Palermo is the best place to be in Buenos Aires. Location is great and close to the best bar, restaurants and night clubs of the city. Also I really have to mention the staff which is simply amazing. They are always willing to help everyone and they accomplish their jobs greatly. They have become a family to me and I know each of of them by name. It was one of favorite experiences in the “Selinas”. Very grateful and very recommended!

The rooms and bathrooms were dirty and two people in my room were robbed during our stay there. I have stayed in Selina hostels before but this one is not like the others. Good location but I would not recommend.

I came to this hostel because my friends had been in other countries, but I have to sya it was very disappointed. I stayed in a share room, the AC wasn't working properly in Summer. The bathroom is in the room so the light of it goes in the room. There is a good area downstairs to chill out or work.

Good - nice co-working space with pretty fast Wi-Fi. Though it would occasionally crash spectacularly. Bad - the hotel rooms really do suck. They're super old, moldy, and the floors are sticky?!? Management also didn't respond to any calls or emails when I wanted to change my reservation a few days beforehand. I'm not sure who's running it - but it doesn't feel well managed.

It would be nice to stay couple days here. There are many social gatherings and a good common area. Also good breakfast. The bed is okay and there is a curtain. The bathroom wasnt too clean though

I've had such an amazing time here, and will definitely stay again. But first I'll start with critique, then some feedback. My package: I stayed in a 4-person dorm for 30 days w/ Cowork package. Something to be aware of is the Cowork is 2 blocks down. This was never a problem for me b/c I actually enjoyed the walk as part of my routine, but some Selinas are connected so it may come as surprise. 1. The Wifi isn't good in the actual hostel. Sometimes I was able to have random work calls with decent connection, but the better connection was in the Cowork. I was able to stream movie events on Discord in the Cowork with no problem, so WiFi was solid there. 2. Selina: PLEASE post the band schedule! The bands you bring in are SO GOOD, but I never know when they're playing. I would go downstairs every single time a band played, but I never know. I think this is why you don't get a lot of people watching. 3. The dorm beds are good, with a personal curtain and spot to put things, but the shelf space could be improved. Not a big deal though. 4. Sometimes I'd sign up for an event and it'd get canceled. This happened more than once. That said, the events that didn't get canceled were amazing. I especially loved the bike tour & mate experience. Anyway, you can tell I have a lot of positives to say about this place. I'm sure the private rooms are great but I took a chance with a dorm and got lucky with good dormmates. Who knows if your experience will differ? This Selina is in such a prime location and their facilities work well for me. Great downstairs meeting spot. Their homemade alfajors are some of the best in Palermo. Craft beer on draft. Safe area. I can't ask for much else.

I had a great time in Selina! Highly recommend for the location, staff, food, and activities. The staff are very helpful and always available, and they organize fun and well-attended activities, including bar tours and music nights. One star off for cleanliness — cockroaches in the kitchen (including inside the microwave) and in the rooms, but the staff addressed those issues quickly when notified.

Horrible customer service from Selina corporate, room flooded and WiFi cut out! I stayed at the Palermo Soho location in Buenos Aires as part of the colive program. On Feb 28th the ceiling un the bathroom leaked and flooded the whole front half of the room and the WiFi stopped working. I’ve been emailing with my “rep” since the 28th, it took 38 days to get a response and now again I’ve waited 14 days since the last time I’ve heard from her. Please help get this resolved.

I enjoyed my time at Selina so much I ended up staying here twice. Feels very much like a high end hostel/stylish budget hotel. Sort of a boutique hostel. Rooms and common areas are well appointed. I ended up spending more time than I probably should have at the cafe in the lobby because it was such a comfortable place. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Upon checking in for the second time, a few of them even remembered my name from my previous visit, which really made me feel at home. Overall, I had a great stay and would highly recommend Selina Palermo Soho to others.

I stayed in dorm room for 2 nights. They have got curtain on each bed so you have much private. Bathroom is very simple and the shower was very weak. Bed are double deck but it is very comfortable. Receptionist is very friendly they tried all the best to help me.

I have stayed in other Selina’s, but this one is not worth it. Though it’s situated in a very beautiful neighborhood, the bathroom door was broken, lift to common kitchen was shaky. The building is cramped. I book Selina so that I can work in the coworking at any time, but their coworking space is 2 blocks away and it closes at 8 PM. Only couple of staffs were friendly. I checked out sooner and went to a different hostel.

I came back to this place again. I could find any other better place to go and relax my mind and make treat my mental health. This place is very unique like no other places I’ve ever been. It is such a heart warming place with amazing staffs and I really appreciate everything<3 The location is majestically beautiful and the free yoga in the morning is amazing. I will definitely come in the future.

I can’t speak for the rooms since I didn’t sleep there, but the staff and the rooftop bar is 10/10! A nice modern vibe to the reception with particular “souvenirs”. Come for sunset at the rooftop bar and you won’t be disappointed, good cocktails (quite cheap) and crazy views!

Hostel facilities and location were great. The atmosphere is good, they help out people to conect and to meet each other. The guy with glasses from reception, the one I think might have been a manager and Diego from the bar were super hospitable and nice, will go the extra mile to help. The reason why I don’t give 5 starts it’s because the kitchen has no utensils to cook, not even glasses or mugs, with a clear understatement that you have to eat at the bar, which has no celiac friendly options, which is crazy considering that most places in Arg have options and gf beers. It’s a bit expensive as well

Great stay at Selina! The staff was really kind and helpful, the rooms have comfy beds and the food at the cafeteria is really good! Would recommend!

Amazing! I stayed at this hotel twice while travelling in Buenos Aires and they helped me a lot. The place is clean, the beds are very comfortable and you have a little curtain by your bed so you can have some privacy. The second time I got there was because I got stuck with no place to stay in the night and they helped me a lot and gave me a great treatment. The only thing I didn’t like was the bathroom that weren’t very clean to my opinion but I brought it up to the guy at the reception and he said he will take care of it. When you come they give you a very nice welcome drink and the staff is very welcoming ☺️

Great location in Palermo. Short walk to parks and plenty of restaurants, cafes etc. Very quiet area. Staff were friendly. Cafe downstairs very convenient. Comfortable cinema room for killing time and big kitchen. As others have said rooftop is closed. Whilst the room was a great size, good balcony and view there were a few maintenance issues - shower would only get lukewarm and come out as a drizzle, beds were squeaky and building sounds (eg. Ventilation, elevator etc) could be heard through the walls. Overall, nice stay.

The private room was very clean and spacious, as well as the bathroom. We can find towels, AC, coffee, tea and soap (all the soaps were vegan and natural). The view is also amazing. The staff is really nice and welcoming We really enjoyed our stay and we would recommande it. We will definitely come back Thank you Selina Brisbane hostel

Beautiful hostel in a fantastic location with lots going on in and around it. Dorm rooms were spacious and comfortable, bathroom did have a small issue with the smell. Rooftop and ground floor cafe spaces are great as well as the common areas on 1st floor. Staff were super helpful throughout. My only regret was not staying longer to try more of the activities.

Good, modern hostel. Fair price for what you get! Some people wrote that it is difficult to socialize in this hostel, but I can report the opposite. During my stay there were a ton of activities (football, cooking class, Saturday night party, pub crawl & e-Scooter tour). The common kitchen also offers an opportunity to socialize. I only give 4/5 stars because there was a problem with the water. The hostel managed it quite professionally by giving out the key for a private room to shower. Would I stay again? Yes!

Clean nice hostel, looks more like hotel. Good beds and showers, they take credit cards and have airport transfers, I only stayed 1 night there to catch my next flight from the Jorge Newberry Airport.

Lots of foreigners staying here and they have a ton of events you can join! There's also two bars (ground floor and rooftop) you can go to that serve great drinks and food. Bartenders are super nice and gave me some great tips about Argentina!

Well organized. 24 hours reception. Great location. A bit on the pricey side but it's Palermo. Another minor note, the wash basin of the dorm's bathroom was not in the bathroom, it was in the room itself

Lovely staff. Clean rooms with wonderful views. Great food on the rooftop patio. Defintiely worth staying at if you're in Buenos Aires.

The Selina vibe is great, location is exceptional in the heart of Palermo, we had a private room which was relatively big and the service was good as well. They had an issue with hot water but this can definitely happen anywhere and they were kind enough to move us into a different room on the following day. Overall, recommended.

Great stay Best Selina in SA. The staff greet you with a smile and can’t be more helpful if they tried. Mariana was so so kind to us and helped us with everything. Great location for BA and rooms are very comfy!

The location of this hostel is the best. They have an awesome rooftop with a nice view. Super close to tons of unique shops, cafes and restaurants. I stayed during low season i think because the hostel was not as full as other ive stayed at so the ambience was ok. Super comfortable beds for a hostel. Bathrooms could be better but the beds were legit.

My review is my experience not sure what happened to others. I booked online with Expedia so everything was paid for before I arrive on Monday kinda a slow day didn't meet any other tourists because most were working remotely and I spent a lot of time at different rooftop bars. The room are decent size and the beds are very comfortable for a hostel hahahaha they have elevator and they are located in the party zone Palermo I highly recommend using western union to get the best exchange rate the hostel is one hour from the airport eze and this Selena is better then the one in Cancun staff was amazing and helpful

This is the 5th Selina hostel for us and this one in BA is by far the worst. We were extremely disappointed with our stay. The mattresses are old, broken and rather uncomfortable, but most of all, the staff are rude and unwelcoming. Before we arrived, I whatsapped to ask where I could book a boat to Uruguay (a standard tourist question). I received a reply simply saying 'I don't know, we can't help you'. (?!) When we asked about the events that were on during our stay, 2 staff members didn't know and we were told to come back the next day when other staff were working, to ask. When we did, this staff member informed us about a yoga event that had already started that morning, which we would have loved to have joined. When I expressed my disappointment about the lack of information given to us, I was met with rude looks and shrugged shoulders, and I felt extremely uncomfortable there during the rest of my stay. There is no social vibe there at all. I do not recommend this hostel at all, it is a disgrace to the Selina brand and I will be staying elsewhere when I return to BA next week.

Absolutely disappointing, first the management decided to split my party up, which was annoying but fine, whatever. They proceeded to tell us the next morning that we had to move due to a room issue. Okay, whatever, it happens. This happened 4 times, FOUR TIMES, as we were moved from room to room, the morning of, no warning the previous night, over the course of 10 days. I was here as a medical student, and was forced to miss important meetings and classes because the hostel could not figure out my living arrangement and kept moving the people in my group around the hotel like puzzle pieces. Many of the rooms I stayed in where not great, old bathrooms that would flood, bathtubs that did not train, light switched that wouldn’t work, missing curtains and GUM stuck to the wall. I ended up leaving to an airbnb after a few days because I needed to sleep and shower, the bare minimum. Overall, this experience was awful, the only decent thing was the nightly events which were fun. Otherwise, awful hostel, awful management, dirty rooms and unreliable staff.

Pros: + Very friendly staffs, lots of events throughout the week so you can meet people. I made some amazing friends here. + Excellent location! There are multiple third wave cafes, restaurants, fitness studios, bars, and clubs within a couple blocks of this Selina. In fact you're 10 steps away from Tres Monos on the Top 50 Bars in the world list. + Curtains and plugins at every bed. + Great coworking space 2 blocks away. Cons are: - Some lockers are deformed and could probably be replaced. - No paper towels in dorm bathrooms.

I did not stay as a guest but went there to visit a friend and felt in love with the shop ! Amazing brands, top picks and exquisite clothing. I wish I could buy everything in the shop !

I arrived at 5am and they let me check in early because my bed was ready. I was so grateful for this after 13 hours of flying. Every staff member I met was really friendly and helpful. My room was a 4 person dorm and it was really clean. The beds have a curtain for privacy and you have your own light and plug point. The air con control was left in the room for you to decide when to use it; this was a big positive for me to be able to choose when it was needed. The bed was really comfy and I slept really well. The hostel has a lot of activities on offer and I enjoyed my complimentary drink on at the roof top bar. Overall beautifully decorated, clean and conveniently located hostel.
