We
went
to
this
restaurant
for
dinner
with
the
awareness
that
La
Mar
is
ranked
among
the
top
50
restaurants
in
the
world.
We
didn’t
have
a
reservation
but
the
restaurant
manager
Christian
Marquez
was
very
kind
to
give
us
a
prime
table
of
4
in
the
open
area.
The
ambience
of
the
place
is
really
good.
The
bar
kiosk
in
the
middle
enhance
the
aesthetic
appeal
of
the
place.
Our
waiters
Ms
Rosio
Sejas
and
Joaquin
Duarte
did
their
job
extremely
well
inspite
of
full
occupancy
and
intense
pressure.
We
ordered
some
cocktails
which
were
outstanding.
We
ordered
two
varieties
of
sushis.
But
they
were
quite
disappointing.
The
accompaniment
of
ginger
and
wasabi
were
conspicuous
by
their
absence.
Instead
they
gave
a
sweet
sauce.
A
sweet
sauce
?
Are
you
sure
?
Yes
sweet
sauce
which
we
did
not
touch
and
ate
the
sushis
with
soya
sauce.
Sushis
didn’t
taste
good
and
I
think
they
were
experimenting
with
some
innovation
in
sushi
and
twisted
out
of
shape.
Sushi
gets
3/10.
We
also
ordered
anticuche
of
fish
which
was
outstanding
(
7/10).
In
main
course
we
ordered
Catch
of
the
day
(
grilled
fish
1.3
kilos
).
It
tasted
good
but
in
the
name
of
accompaniments
there
was
only
baked
potatoes
which
were
dry
like
a
bone.
There
was
nothing
else
to
accompany
the
grilled
fish
which
was
a
big
disappointment.
While
going
inside
to
use
the
restroom,
I
noticed
that
inside
area
was
devoid
of
any
decent
furnishing
and
it
looked
like
a
run
down
place.
Thanks
to
open
kitchen
and
open
lavatory
doors
on
the
1st
floor,
it
had
strange
smell
of
food
and
urine
mixed
together.
Thank
God
we
are
sitting
outside,
I
thought.
It
was
a
warm
night
ans
at
11pm
we
were
sweating
under
the
clothes.
There
was
no
breeze.
The
management
would
do
well
to
provide
some
pedestal
fans
for
air
circulation.
(
they
cost
nothing
much
).
I
think
the
reputation
of
this
restaurant
has
run
ahead
of
the
intrinsic
value.
Advice
to
fellow
travelers
:
You
may
visit
but
please
lower
your
expectations.
