I used to love this place but nowadays the service level has gone downhill (maybe since they added tables outside on the sidewalk): slow and not paying attention to customer. I had to ask 3 different members of the staff for the bill and when it came it was wrong (dishes I did not order were added). I give it 4 stars because the food is still good

The food is nothing to write home about. We traveled 30 minutes to come here per the reviews, and it was disappointing. We had a large party and were told we can share the food to really be able to experience the dish. The servings where small to be able to be shared and the wait for each dish to be served to the table was long. Only things good was the wine and the drinks which arrived promptly. Save your money and go else where.

Food was great except the espresso (common theme in BA). Good deserts make up for it, as was the case here. We sat inside for lunch and it felt a bit dark, also couldn't help noticing that the few windows bringing in natural light were dirty. Service and ambience were pleasant. I would return and try dining outside.

Great service, delicious food. The servers are very attentive and explain all the options for us. They went above and beyond, being incredibly attentive and taking the time to thoroughly explain all the tempting options on the menu. Their dedication to ensuring we had a memorable meal made the overall experience truly exceptional.

The good, the bad, and the ugly: good, the food was terrific! The bad, very expensive, the service was uneven. The ugly: they cheated us. We ordered the gran parrilla a for 2 (we had it there a week ago) plus gran parrilla for 4 (we brought friends, it was so good). They brought us two identical trays for two, and would not acknowledge when we called them on it.

La Mar was just incredible. We went back multiple times. Just an amazing Peruvian experience in Buenos Aires. We absolutely loved our pisco sours, ceviche, tiradito, grilled octopus, seafood rice, and passion fruit dessert. Can't recommend this place enough - we wish we could bring it back to Canada with us.

Food is great, so fresh and tasty, cocktails too, Bar Manager is dedicated and took time to explain flavors and combinations. Service is not so good, I’m still waiting for the coffee we ordered, also they should have a bigger non smoking area outside, was very annoying and disturbing having to smell cigarettes and cigars while eating.

The food was delicious and tasted very fresh. The service was also great and the waiters, especially Eric were very friendly and helpful. Furthermore the area outside was very beautiful and taken care of and had a positive atmosphere. Overall I highly recommend la Mar to dine at when you are in Buenos Aires!

With these prices, it better not disappoint. And it didn't. Dishes ranged from great to spectacular (the Chifa fried rice, fried baby squid and cebiches). The lighting is a bit harsh but makes for great photos at least. Recommend!

Never been so disappointed in a restaurant in Argentina. These pictures really speak for themselves - zero effort put into presentation and the quality of ingredients is exceedingly mediocre. When asked about why our dishes look so different to the picture from Google, the answer is that the menu has recently changed... Absolute tourist trap and worse than any random street stand cevicerias in Peru. Don't be fooled by its name and resemblence to Peru's La Mar.

This was our favourite restaurant in Palermo Hollywood and we ate here two nights. Delicious food (try the fish tacos and fried shrimp wrapped in lettuce leaves) very friendly and attentive service with english spoken, and well priced for the quality of food. The outdoor seating area is wonderful with a very stylish bar. We will definitely go back next time we're visiting BA.

We went to this restaurant for dinner with the awareness that La Mar is ranked among the top 50 restaurants in the world. We didn’t have a reservation but the restaurant manager Christian Marquez was very kind to give us a prime table of 4 in the open area. The ambience of the place is really good. The bar kiosk in the middle enhance the aesthetic appeal of the place. Our waiters Ms Rosio Sejas and Joaquin Duarte did their job extremely well inspite of full occupancy and intense pressure. We ordered some cocktails which were outstanding. We ordered two varieties of sushis. But they were quite disappointing. The accompaniment of ginger and wasabi were conspicuous by their absence. Instead they gave a sweet sauce. A sweet sauce ? Are you sure ? Yes sweet sauce which we did not touch and ate the sushis with soya sauce. Sushis didn’t taste good and I think they were experimenting with some innovation in sushi and twisted out of shape. Sushi gets 3/10. We also ordered anticuche of fish which was outstanding ( 7/10). In main course we ordered Catch of the day ( grilled fish 1.3 kilos ). It tasted good but in the name of accompaniments there was only baked potatoes which were dry like a bone. There was nothing else to accompany the grilled fish which was a big disappointment. While going inside to use the restroom, I noticed that inside area was devoid of any decent furnishing and it looked like a run down place. Thanks to open kitchen and open lavatory doors on the 1st floor, it had strange smell of food and urine mixed together. Thank God we are sitting outside, I thought. It was a warm night ans at 11pm we were sweating under the clothes. There was no breeze. The management would do well to provide some pedestal fans for air circulation. ( they cost nothing much ). I think the reputation of this restaurant has run ahead of the intrinsic value. Advice to fellow travelers : You may visit but please lower your expectations.

Nice restaurant, Great menu…seafood barbecue from other world. Recommended

Beware of the recommended premium cocktails. Firstly the positives - stylish restaurant, with creative and well presented food, in a cool building and neighbourhood. The only negative from us was the cocktail recommended by the waitress, which wasn’t on the menu, that costs 3 times the price of the one we originally wanted. Felt like a bit of a tourist trick (we’re not Spanish speaking). Issue was resolved with restaurant before leaving.

Straight up one of the best meals I have ever had. Franco was as close to a perfect server as you could hope for. We gave him what we thought we’d like and he gave us advice on what to order; even challenging us on some of our choices - which we loved. One of the more expensive places to eat but well well worth a visit. Food: fish taco-y dish with trout, sudado (Peruvian fish soup - don’t eat the chili!!) and my gf had a catch of the day stir fry.

A must if you're in BsAs! A bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. The Cebiche Lujurioso is one of the best I've ever had! Make sure to ask for their salsa picante, a great compliment!

Such an awesome place to have a long relaxing lunch with friends. We shared a meal fir four consisting of octopus, shrimps and fish. It was delicious. The service was great with a relaxing ambiance. A wonderful place to consider in Buenos Aires. A bit on the pricey side but it's worth it.

The food is good and abundant but I have eaten better quality food for that price in Palermo. The service was good

My wife and I really love their ceviche and tiraditos. Their catch of the day are super fresh.

AMAZING and delicious food. The ceviche classic is the best. This is the third La Mar we have been to, Miami, Lima and here. Co sisterly good food.

There's so much to love about La Mar. I spent my first afternoon in Buenos Aires sitting on the patio, outside in the sunshine, sipping on a pisco sour. The ceviche nikkei was beautiful - a generous amount of trout swimming in a bowl of tamarind tiger milk. The perfect amount of creamy and sweetness, with thin ribbons of cucumber and red onion. Update; still love mar, but after trying the classico, nikkei is still by far the best.

I’m not sure words will do justice for the experience I had at La Mar Peruvian Restaurant in Buenos Aires. From the moment I stepped in the door, the atmosphere was inviting and I felt instantly welcomed. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and eager to assist with any questions I had. The presentation of the food was exquisite and the flavor was exquisite. We ordered several dishes and they all surpassed our expectations. I especially enjoyed the Ceviche which was so fresh and delicious. The flavors were so vibrant and varied that each bite was an adventure. If you’re looking for a truly enjoyable culinary experience in Buenos Aires, I highly recommend La Mar Peruvian Restaurant. You won’t regret it!

I’ve already been here like 10 times with my husband and our dog and I can say this is one of the best restaurants in Buenos Aires. It’s not cheap, but the price really doesn’t matter in Argentina. Here you can go to an upscale place and get the worst service in town. La Mar is different. No matter how many people dine there, we get the order super fast. The staff do their job impeccably and the food is just perfect. You just wanna come back again and again to try every single meal on the menu. Thank you, guys! You are literally the best 🩷

The food was really good, we ate a ceviche clásico de temporada, which was extremely flavourous.

Ate here twice while in Buenos Aires! Once for dinner and once for a casual happy hour. The ceviche is exceptional, great cocktails, awesome outdoor patio area with bar.

I really liked the tuna tiradito! It was tasty. But in terms of the shrimp (I didn’t know it was fried, I asked for something fresh) it wasn’t bad, but wasn’t my favorite, specially the mix/sauce it had all over. But would definitely come back!

Let me tell you, food is okay. When you set foot in La Mar you expect a bit more. After all, a renowned world class chef established this restaurant and uses his own name to promote the venue. Again, food is not bad, it’s just not up to expectations. Some dishes are really good, others left lots to be desired. Breaded prawns are really good, same as lomo saltado. Fish tacos needs more fish and less sauce. Service staff is really friendly and welcoming, but way too disorganized and at a lost. Overall you’ll enjoy your meal but for what you pay, Buenos Aires offers lots of other options just around the corner.

Pefect food & delicate service! Especially ceviches are unrivalled! We enjoyed the atmosphere of the venue very much. We started with Peruvian cocktails, followed by ceviche, sushi, fish tacos, oysters (very fresh) and finished with rica. A bit pricey buy the food and the venue deserves! A very good alternative for a special night!

One of our best meals in the city. The food and service were both amazing. Really great drinks too. The seafood was some of the best; ridiculously delicious flavors and very fresh. Franco delivered fantastic service and awesome food recommendations.

Great food quality, plates can be a bit small. Great atmosphere, but waiters can take too much for every thing you ask.

This place is great. From the lovely outdoor space to the friendly and efficient service to the beautifully presented and delicious food we loved our lunch here! And bonus they have an awesome wine list. We had a few dishes - the Tiradido Nikkei w/ delicious tuna and cucumber and red onion in an excellent slightly spicy sauce was our fave! The Causa Limena w/ Pollo was very good as well, it is a creative take on a chicken salad. I liked the Langostino Empanadas (my wife didn't like the texture) and I wouldn't order them again, but if you like langostinos give them a try. We really like the La Mar in San FRancisco (US) but this one is even better. Go!

I visited today and found it disappointing, to be honest. Food & drinks: it's okay. I had one ceviche and sushi with a cocktail. Bill 14K pesos + 10% tip. Service: staff comes across as not attentive. Value: expensive and underwhelming dining experience. Sorry, this experience didn't live up to the recommendation and hype. I won't go back. I visited much better Peruvian restaurants in Palermo.
