It’s a mini Central Park! Lovely landscaped park with paved walkways, recreational fields, massive shady trees and of course a great big lake in the middle. Classic Olmstead move! Well worth a morning or an afternoon of lazy strolling or a picnic - shaded lakeside or buzzy bird and butterfly filled fields. Paddle and row boat rentals, benches everywhere - it’s just a lovely lovely part of Buffalo.

I've been going here for 30 plus years and still one of my favorite parks to visit. Great place for dates, picnics, events, sports, exercise, and meet-ups with friends. Great place to take pictures as well.

There's nothing more "Buffalo" than this park which is the jewel of this city. Beautiful, mature trees surround Hoyt Lake where boats and floats can be rented seasonally if desired. Generally flat terrain, the park offers beautiful, natural trails for a nice, relaxing stroll.

I just love this park. Hoyt Lake is very pretty and the park has a fantastic vibe that I love. It’s hard to describe but it’s a wonderful feel to the place. We love to ride our bike around the lake and I’ve even caught some fish there

Absolutely beautiful park, great place to walk or sit and read a book! The cherry blossoms are gorgeous, definitely worth coming a visit in the spring! Also an art gallery and history museum very close, so you could spend a chunk of time here on a visit 😆

Delaware Park and the Japanese Cherry Blossom Trees are very pretty. Everywhere is a picturesque moment. It's easy for any photographer to snap a picture and be happy with it. I flew my drone here and got some very pretty pictures! I also enjoyed seeing everyone walking their dogs, I might take my dog here sometime! I'm sure it'll be a great park in the summer with all the shade.

There is truly something for everyone at Delaware Park. Soccer? Baseball? Skateboarding? Bicycling? Running? Walking? Picnicking? Golf anyone? Or how about a pickup game of basketball? Or maybe just sit on a bench in the shade and watch Buffalonians do their park thing. The Buffalo Zoo is even right next to the park. My only wish is there should be more benches throughout the park to make it easy for people to find a place to sit down, rest and relax.

Beautiful, multi-faceted public park within the City of Buffalo. Today I walked around the Ring Road. Warm and sunny. Stared at the buffalo in the zoo. Sat for awhile and people watched. So relaxing.

Delaware Park is like the crown jewel of the Buffalo Parks system. It's tough to give it just one review because it's really more like several parks that are all right next to each other, and of those, it's functionally divided in half by the 198! And to make it seem even bigger, on the other side of the 198 and Delaware Avenue is Forest Lawn Cemetery, which gives even more green space to the views. The northeastern section is larger, and is where the Buffalo Zoo is, as well as the lodge, the croquet court, and the golf course is. The biggest open area is the golf course, and it's not open to non-golf players except for some special occasions. Personally, I think it's a huge waste, but the fees help fund the park, so I guess there's a balance. There's a running/walking/roller skating/biking loop that goes around the whole area (now closed to traffic), that goes by the Buffalo enclosure at the Zoo, a fitness station, basketball courts, picnic areas, soccer fields (which sometimes double as Quidditch pitches), and some tennis courts tucked over on the far side. The southwestern section of the park encloses Hoyt Lake, the Rose Garden, the sledding hill/Shakespeare in the Park area, a formal playground area, another soccer field, and more wooded areas with hills and paths. There tend to be more dogs in this area, so watch out for people who don't clean up after them! This part of the park is more restful and relaxing than the other, and is more set up for a quiet stroll than running laps. There's a restaurant in the (non-gambling) casino, and one can rent boats (some pink flamingo pedal boats too) to go out on Hoyt Lake. To get from one part of the park to the other, there's a little strip park between Nottingham Court and the 198 that has some tennis courts, and then a pedestrian bridge over the 198 that brings one out by a bronze cast of David by Michelangelo (one of only three cast from the original marble!). Adjacent to this bridge is the Japanese Garden of the Historical Museum, making the park seem even bigger.

Delaware is a really nice park located in the city of Buffalo. I've recently visited the park for a pinic with my friends to snack and chat. It was really nice. I had a great time. The only issue I have is looking for parking whenever I do visit this park.

Best place in all of Buffalo in my opinion. I've still yet to encounter another park as lovely as this one. There are several walking paths which go around the lake or into the more woodsy areas of the park. Wildlife is abundant including dozens of bird species, rabbits, fish and squirrels. A great place for novice bird watching we've spotted Red-Winged Blackbirds, Black-Capped Chickadees, Cardinals, European Starlings, Blue Jay's, Great Blue Herons and American Goldfinchs. Most of these birds live close to the lake. The park also includes a rose garden which is absolutely beautiful in May and June when the flowers are starting to bloom. In the summer there are also boat rentals which are very fun to get out on the lake. Definitely visit if you come to buffalo this park will not disappoint!

It's a nice spot to have a picnic, run, bike, or meditate. Bathrooms are scarce, so keep that in mind. Sometimes the museum will let you in if you need to go.

Plenty of space to run and keep social distance. The surroundings are unique; the zoo, Hoyt lake, museums, golfers, the rose garden, and some beautiful homes. It's as easy to find a quiet space as it is to people watch.

Delaware is a great Buffalo, N.Y. park. A great place to hike, bring a blanket, lay down and read a book. Great 18 hole municipal golf course open for public golfing 8 months a year. Beautiful landscape and atmosphere.

Great space to walk around or have a picnic. Shakespeare in the Park is a must see.

Very nice park in a great location. The park size is huge and has crochet, a gulf course, basketball courts, playgrounds, a fitness park, tennis courts, and the buffalo zoo. As you walk around the right side of the park, you walk directly, passed, and along the buffalo zoo. If you are coming to walk, run, play sports, or stop at the zoo, then this is a great park.

I love all the different parts of this park. After an extended illness, my partner and I decided to walk the loop by the zoo which was about a two mile stint and we were definitely sweating by the time we got back to the car. I appreciate how safe I feel walking here though. The scenery changes even just in this loop was nice too.

My go-to place to walk and get outdoors when I'm feeling restless and don't yet have a set destination. Connects to a trail that leads to Hoyt Lake, making for a nice combination of both city and nature. Both are great for anything with wheels, including strollers. Leashed dogs, bicyclists, roller bladers / skaters, runners, walkers all welcomed and to be found here

Delaware Park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted provides a stunning public space open for all to enjoy many activities: walking, running, golf, basketball, biking, soccer, roller blading, skate boarding, baseball, basketball, rugby, picnics, people nature watching, and a wonderful Zoo taking a walk on the wild side!🦬❤️🦬

Took my 16 and 21 yr old for a ride on the flamingo boats. Beautiful day. 1/2 hour is enough in the heat, but a cooler day I'd do an hour.

A very large park, designed by Olmsted back in the day when that was the thing to do. Its very beautiful and is adjacent to a couple of buffalo's finest museums. If you haven't gone to Shakespeare in the park here, you someday should, but also good for a stroll, golf, tennis, or many other recreational activities. You can even rent a paddle boat!

One of the masterpieces designed by Frederick Law Mother F'ing Olmsted. There's a reason he's one of the most revered city planners in American history and it's because he has a vision for tranquility and humanity, even when others want to crush the human spirit with bleak gray buildings and limited greenery. Large open spaces, beautiful trees, soft paths, and areas for sports are sorely needed in the country, and it's a shame more places aren't like here.

Beautiful, big, and lots to do. Needs better sanitation. Lots of people leave garbage everywhere and you do fine the occasional used drug paraphernalia. A few garbage cans would go a long way.
