This past weekend we tried to check in early for our arrival but was told the hotel was busy so there was no early check in. Knowing this we checked in online and arrived at the hotel at 4pm. When we went to the check in desk we were told that they didn't have any beds available and there were 4 ahead of so we would need to wait until they had room. We had lots of luggage and we luckily were able to get a cart but there was only one place to sit with the cart (right by the door with all the smokers.) 90 minutes later we finally were told our room was ready. I asked why we were penalized for showing up at 4 because we were aware that they didn't have an early check in but were put at the back of the line. No answer was given. When we arrived to our room -it was very outdated and dirty, not enough towels for the occupancy, and 84 degrees. The hotel doesn't have heating or cooling per room it is per the season that they are able to heat or cool. We were told to call engineering and they came and opened our windows. We turned off the heat but needed to leave our windows open all night long and heard yelling and screaming outside until 3am, trains, planes and fire and ambulances. The breakfast is $25 per person so we went to Starbucks in the lobby where the Starbucks app and rewards don't work and then were treated rudely by the employees. Overall, the staff was rude, unaccomodating for a 90 minute wait with no seating (there was no perks given for the wait). the restaurant in the open lobby wouldn't allow us to sit on the other side (even though there were no patrons), the sheets must be cleaned with the harshest chemicals that hurt the skin, and the room was too hot to stay in without the windows open which made us feel like we were sitting on the city street. And FYI it says there is a pool which my family was excited about but no acknowledgement from staff where it was and when we discovered it -it is closed until further notice. Overall, buyer beware. This is not a hotel I would ever stay at again.

The worse vacation I ever had. Stay away from this hotel. The front desk agents & manager have no idea what customer service is. Our room was dirty when we arrived. There were cannabis leaves on the carpet & desk counter. We had requested our room to be cleaned to the front desk many times with no help. We had to beg the housekeeping attendant to clean our room. I asked several times to the front desk to speak to the GM. I guess they don't exist or hide in their office. The rooms our outdated. Their are problems with the toilets & flushing. The breakfast buffet the food is so horrible. The front desk manager Danielle displays the worse management skills & no follow up skills. Everyone in that hotel failed many times. Anyone who has stayed at the hotel write a review so the public can see how horrible the hotel is & the GM doesn't even care. Yes I called the corporate office to address this issue & an email was sent to all management of the hotel. None of your management team cares. We have to let the public know how awful the hotel, service & staff since management doesn't care.

Started off with a poor attitude from the man at the front desk. The signage on where to self park was not clear so I parked in the Hyatt marked garage and took a ticket When I got in the hotel I asked if I was parked in the right place. The man was sassy and said I should have come to him first for a ticket. I asked where do you pull the car while you are getting the ticket inside and still never got a clear answer. He rushed me away even though no one else was in line. Need a better system and a bit of patience with people coming to unfamiliar territory. The room was a bit gross. Stains on the carpets and a weird odor on all of the towels. The curtain was broken so I was never able to fully pull it shut. No shampoo or conditioner and when I asked the same man at the front desk I again got attitude as if he was bothered by me asking for it. I give 5 stars to the lady who was working in the breakfast area. She said it was her first day on the job but she should be running the front desk, she was sweet and patient.

Had a 3 night stay. Dated rooms, windows look like they haven't been cleaned in a year. Broken plumbing bath and shower spigot both on. Could not change it. Inconsiderate valet stand. Did not help anyone with bags, doors on cars, or even make eye contact until you approach them. Bar is way overpriced with weak drinks. Do not recommend staying here.

I’m surprised this has 4.2 ratings. This looks like a old super 8/ holiday inn renovated. This is the city you get to do a lot of stuff. That doesn’t mean this is the best. I have never had such an experience with Hyatt, first time, it was horrible. Starting from valet service to front desk to room. Terrible, one after another. There was no valet parking, I was told to self park at a parking garage which doesn’t exists or Hyatt isn’t part of it. Thank goodness, it was cheaper than what Hyatt would charge. My suggestion is find the best parking elsewhere and pay less, every penny is worth it. From desk, they don’t have good customer service skills at all. I felt like, I’m staying here for free and they are paying for it. Come on, guys we spend thousands of dollars to have few nights comfortably. Arrogant and rude. I don’t have to beg you guys to stay here or check in, that’s my right cause I have paid for it. Rooms doesn’t come with microwave or fridge. Are you serious ? This is caught me off guard. Even a small motel would have fridge and microwave. Just having a fancy name or being a recognized one doesn’t give you to ruin someone’s trip.

I recently stayed for the Buffalo Marathon weekend and was incredibly pleased with my stay. The staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly and the room was perfect. I was very appreciative of the table with water and fruit for the runners after the race. Thank you for that! This was a great place to stay and the friendly staff made it even better. Not one complaint about my stay.

Room smelled like it was a smoking room not too long ago. Shower fixtures were not installed correctly and hotel will have mold in the walls very soon if not already. Elevators were not working several times during my stay and I had to walk up/down 9 stories. Many services are still not restored from COVID. Bar area was nice and Starbucks was fast and efficient every morning. Easy access to the convention center and you don't have to go outside of the weather is not good.

We got married in Buffalo and stayed here as it offered the best price and was relatively close to our venue. We booked a Jr suite so all of the girls could get hair and makeup done right in the room. Although the price was very fair, the suite was a little on the smaller side. There were 5 girls getting hair and makeup done (7 people total in the room, including the makeup and hair stylist) and it was slightly cramped quarters. The room itself was nice, bed was comfy but walls are pretty thin. The TV by the bed also seems too big for the room. My biggest complaint is that I was never informed of all the construction taking place so trying to unload the car was a nightmare. The Starbucks in the lobby had weird hours and the restaurant there was closed as well. This threw a wrench in our plans since we planned on getting lunch from the restaurant. Our AC also didn't work very well. We had it turned as low as it could go but it still got warm in the room. I was hoping once everyone left it would cool down and be comfortable to sleep in, but even at night with only 2 of us in the room it was still too warm for us.

I picked here thinking it would be easier to get to the Buffalo Convention Center. Nope by the time you got to the end of the walkway it was blocked off. I wasn't the only one that thought that way too especially being an air quality alert in effect. Very long line to check in even though multiple staff behind front desk. Was told my reservation would get straightened out for cost looks like I was just being told what I wanted to hear. Do not go here if you are not willing to pay a high price for parking. It says you have to pay for parking online, but no prices stated. Elevators are a mess and I feel completely unsafe. Just did an over night, and twice I know of one of the elevators got stuck with people on it and fire department called. It really effected my children seeing that not once, but twice they didn't feel very safe.

There was a time in history this hotel must have been exciting and pleasant, however currently all the allure ends past the lobby. The staff here are wonderful and friendly but the hotel is very miserable. Rooms and halls have a slight funk to them and the decor is extremely uninspired. Walls are paper thin and expect to be awoken by your neighbours opening and closing doors or their children running around. Rooms don't get cleaned unless you stay 4 days or more - the response to this is that it's done for our "convenience". Vending machines on several floors need to be refilled, parts of ceilings in rooms are water-stained and the gym is dilapidated. The lobby is dope though and has a swanky bar and Starbucks. Apart from that it's just a sad and depressing experience.

The Hotel itself was outstanding! So very clean, great employees and wonderful service. The only thing that wasn't great was the powdered eggs and rest of the ABSOLUTELY GROSS breakfast was NOT WORTH $21.00 PLUS ADDED 18% TIP that we had to get ourselves. Otherwise it was a great stay and we will be back.

Great downtown location, near plenty of restaurants and watering holes. The hotel lobby is beautiful. The bed in our room was comfortable, so it was not a big issue that the room and bathroom itself could use some updating. Staff were friendly and helpful. Patrick in valet pointed us in the direction of a cool local bar/restaurant for us to go to because we arrived early and our room wasn't ready. Would definitely come here for a stay when we plan to come to Buffalo again.

Not worth the money. They charge for a luxury experience and give a nice look in the lobby but the rooms are old. Mine had a wall socket cover that was falling off. They also rip you off with breakfast. No one mentioned anything about breakfast to us when checking in and when we went to the lobby the buffet was set up and looks like every continental breakfast I've had at any other hotel. So we sit down to eat your standard hotel breakfast food that is pretty mediocre only to find out afterwords they charge $30 a person. I'm sure I could've read that somewhere but would've been nice to be given any kind of verbal heads up at all, no one mentioned it at check-in or said anything when we started eating, only when we got up to leave. A pricey big hotel and they can't even include a continental breakfast? Just way overpriced for a mediocre experience. I do not recommend.

They sent me a bill as if I stayed there 3 weeks before I went. Can't imagine how this could have happened. Spoke to one of the managers who did not call me back. After many phone calls not returned, a nice front desk associate gave me a refund. You would think the managers would try to make things good. But, they did not. I will say, the staff was awesome. Loved the bartenders. Location is great. Rooms were not bad, a little dated

I was in town from New York attending a memorial for my late Mentor it was a toss between Hilton up the street and Hyatt. I decided on Hyatt because of the price. The room was big with spectator views of Downtown Buffalo. The service of Front Desk was amazing they were very accommodating with my questions and wants. This location has in restaurant inside with a Starbucks and 24 Hr access to the Gym. Everytime when I come up to Buffalo I will be staying here can’t go wrong.

I enjoyed my stay here with my family. The rooms were nice. Getting an elevator for check out was a nightmare as one of the three elevators was down. It would be nice if the pool was up and running. I have fond memories of swimming in there when I was a kid.

Visited for a wedding over the weekend, very lovely experience. But the way the bar was planned and set up before dinner was terrible. It caused the entire hallway to become packed and very little direction given towards the cheese trays. Putting the bar in the same room as the snack would have opened up way more room. The other negative was at last call while waiting patiently we were cut off from getting served, I understand timing but we saw a gentleman walk away with an entire tray of drinks. The line was not growing, I feel as tho we waited our time they could at least finished serving those in line at the start of last call. Food was excellent and the service staff was polite and on top of their game. Decor was lovely. Overall was a good time, but planning bar placement could have been better for overall flow of traffic from a wedding party.

The lobby is very nice and the hotel is in a great location for driving and walking. The rooms are outdated, small, and simple. The buffet breakfast is a trap - there are no signs and nobody there to advise that it’s not included, until they run out of the kitchen area with a $21/person bill. However the staff was very professional and accommodating to our needs. This is a great place to stay for the location but it will not be the most comfortable or luxurious stay.

I’ve never left a review on anything before, but I thought people should know what their getting. My husband and I stayed at the Buffalo Hyatt last week for 4 nights while attending a work conference. The room smelled awful, I checked with everyone else in our group and they all agreed that their rooms smelled bad too. When I stopped by the front desk to check when our room would be cleaned and fresh towels they said on the day we check out. Really? The second day I asked for clean towels, wash clothes and we really needed toilet paper, he handed everything to me right at the desk. I asked if that’s something the would be brought to the room and the response was it was more efficient this way. So I went up to the 9th floor with 4 towels, 4 wash clothes and 2 rolls of toilet paper. Our room was cleaned after the 3rd night. If there would have been an elderly person staying I our room there was no way they would have been able to turn on the shower. I had to pull on the knob while pushing against the wall with my other hand to get the water on. The good stuff was the Starbucks in the hotel and the valets at the front were amazing and super helpful.

Good location and price but there are caveats. Upon check in, I was prompted by the payment system (Square) to tip the front desk attendant. I’ve stayed at hotels all over the world and have never been asked to provide a 15% tip on my bill for 5 minutes of checking me in and handing me a key card. It was awkward to decline that right in front of the employee. The restaurant breakfast menu was limited and when I tried to split the bill with another person, they charged my card for both meals and struggled to correct that. It required the waitress to get an override from the hotel manager — again, awkward and I wish we had just paid cash to avoid the trouble. Housekeeping kept coming to my room because they were told it was vacant. Even after speaking with me and seeing me in the room a few hours earlier, they returned and said it was listed as vacant. As others noted, the rooms are dated. I didn’t find mine to be dirty but the design was weird. Like there is an enormous TV that sits on a dresser completely obscuring the mirror. For the price I paid ($78/night) I felt the experience was ok but I wouldn’t pay more and I recommend avoiding any purchases in the hotel that involve a credit card. There are lots of restaurants nearby with good options.

This hotels main areas, service and location are all top notch. Unfortunately the rooms themselves leave much to be desired. Was in town for a conference at the hotel and everything ran like a Swiss watch. Gorgeous main lobby with staff that is super friendly and attentive. There were 3 of us and our individual rooms contained the following: Room 1: Carpet was like Applebee's carpet, sticky and stained, occupant had to wear shoes at all times. Room 2: Sink had hole all the way through it, didn't leak onto the floor as it had duct tape covering the hole on both sides. Beds were only about 2 feet off the ground (disabled beds maybe?) Thermostat set at 59 upon entering the room, took 2 days to get the room to a temperature that wasn't reminiscent of a meat locker. Room 3: You could have all the water you wanted, as long as you wanted hot water. Although the cold water handle allowed water to flow, it was hot water. Also, no soap of any kind in bathroom upon check in. Bonus room (from another person attending our conference, but not in our party): Room with NO BED. Room was empty outside of a pull out couch. Occupant was told that there were no other rooms available and could either take that room or find somewhere else. That was literally their solution with hundreds of business travelers on site that were single occupants to hundreds of rooms with double beds.......yeah. So, would I stay here again? Not until they get the rooms up to snuff with the rest of the establishment. Even if your conference is here (again, it's a great venue for a conference, gorgeous space and attentive staff), there's plenty of hotels within walking distance to stay at while the Regency takes the needed time to update its actual living spaces.

Stayed for three nights while attending the lions club state convention. First off , armchair with only one arm rest . Ridiculous. Toilet would not flush, tried to call down but the phone didn’t work . Two trips to the front desk did not resolve the issues , but now the toilet ran constantly. Should have been a very easy fix , replace fill valve . Tried to iron on day three but iron would not heat up . We were advised at check in housekeeping only took care of room every four days , great way to save salaries for the hotel but I don’t enjoy having to make the bed, dump trash , etc . This has nothing to do with covid at this point . Another trip to the front desk to request towels , toilet paper , empty trash . Left a tip for whoever takes care of this . Returned to see they only left toilet paper but did take the tip ! Another trip to the front desk ! I was not impressed but will say servers at breakfast and lunch were great , along with the bar staff. I would only stay here again for any Lions functions where I really don’t have a choice . A reply to my review of this hotel stated they were sorry there amenities did not live up to my standards ? My standards were a toilet that flushed , a phone that worked , a chair with two arm rests , Clean towels and toilet paper , someone to dump trash and make the bed , wow , guess I was really out of line ! I did not receive a do it yourself discount. As a retired Marriott engineer I guess I was trained to provide a “ make it brilliant “ experience for our guests . Your room and response were way below acceptable standards .

I’ve stayed here a few times, most recently in summer 2023. Location is very good, central to downtown Buffalo - for what it’s worth. Hotel itself is super dated, small old bathrooms and basic bed. It was comfortable enough for a short stay but if I weren’t so loyal to Hyatt I’d probably pick a newer property in town.

The room is definitely OLD. The mattress is terrible based on Hyatt standard. No boiling water pot, very disappointing. A bit noisy street as a lot of loud parties going on nearby. Parking was a bit of struggle to find. People working there are very nice though. Overall this ranks pretty much at bottom among all Hyatt hotels I have ever stayed at. No breakfast included for 250$ room???

JILL is a rock star. Checking in for NYE, was breeze. We came in earlier than expected and without hesitation she was able to accommodate us, upgraded us to a room with a view for an additional fee. Took me outside to check with Valet which parking was open. She even waited for us to come back to let us know the view wasnt 100%, which the view we have is 90%. Jill is amazing, thank you.

I was having a booking issue since I booked through a third party and Oh my God, the way Coretta handled was just amazing. I gave up on the reservation and third party department and Coretta resolved it.. She has such a kind heart and handled the issue going out of her way. Very professional.

    - I never had to shower with shampoo until I stayed at this hotel! The room had nothing but body lotion, called housekeeping to get shower gel, they sent more body lotion and shampoo, called them 2 more times and they sent NOTHING! - Service here is the worst! Reception didn't even take the time to tell us where their parking is other than "across the street" which made us end up in the wrong parking. - In the morning, we were still getting ready to leave and housekeeping just opened the room door on us without knocking, if we didn't have the manual lock on, they would've enetered the room on us unannounced!!! - Noisy hallways at night, policemen on our floor around 2 am, not sure what fight broke out. Overall felt like we were in a 1 star hotel.

The rooms need significant updating, there is no vent in the shower so your entire room will always be muggy. Room had hair all in it. The AC is meh, and the TVs have no ability to screen project or use any streaming service.

We stayed at Hyatt Regency in downtown Buffalo for few days this week and we were impressed. The rooms were not only nice but impeccably clean, with daily housekeeping service that is a refreshing change of pace in these times when many hotels have reduced cleaning services due to COVID. The staff at the front desk were the epitome of hospitality, always friendly and willing to help with any request. The commitment of the Hyatt Regency team to maintain such high standards of cleanliness and guest service truly made my stay in Buffalo a delightful experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for peace of mind and a comfortable stay in the city.

Very nice place to stay while in the city. They offer valet parking during your stay. The rooms were very clean. The view was nice at night, but the windows definitely could use a good cleaning. The entire hotel was very beautiful, updated and modern. It was located close to the Rec Room, which was the reason we were in town. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a convenient place in town.

Good location, parking is garage parking that they offer valet or self parking across the street. We did self parking and somehow we paid more through the hotel (50$) than if we would have just paid the ticket machine on the way out (18$) for two days. We didn’t go back in to argue that but wish I would have known this before paying the hotel first for parking. Hotel room we had was big and spacious. Some stains on the floor. Customer service was great. Starbucks and bar downstairs. Overall, good bang for your buck. Added plenty of pictures so hope it helps.

Had some laundry done and the people damaged one of my shirts. I rold them and they said we'll talk to the people who cleaned your shirt. Rooms looked very worn and used. Left over used shampoo and soap was left in the shower. People were super nice though, but expected more for the price paid. However, beds were super comfortable and the lobby was beautiful.

After a very long day of traveling from California, last thing you want hear is that your hotel “overbooked, because the Bronco’s are here”. As if I’m supposed to care that your hotel is hosting a football team and staff. I booked over three weeks ago and expected my room on arrival, or at least a courtesy call. I arrived close to 1am, tired and with all my luggage in-hand. Desk attendant told me it was due to overbooking of VIPs, apparently regular people aren’t important enough. Manager then said it was due to flooding that some rooms were unavailable. So someone is lying. Was sent to a Hampton Inn Suited and told to come back tomorrow for a “nice room”. No offer to make it up in any way.

This is a really great place to stay. The rooms are nice and the views are really cool. It’s the staff that makes the experience even better. Everyone seems to be in such great moods and they’re always super ready to help if you need it. I actually dropped my keys down the elevator shaft and Percy got right into action and saved the day. I will definitely stay here again for my next trip to Buffalo.

Nice hotel with great downtown location. Rooms clean but a little dated. Staff was exceptional. Very attentive and helpful. This is always important to me. A little disappointed in the meal we had which was part of a large reception. The steak and chicken overdone and dry and the meal was luke warm. But the wait staff and bar tenders were again excellent.

The hotel was in a good location, staff was friendly and the bed was extremely comfortable. Just don't get the hotels breakfast in the morning. It was extremely overpriced and the food was practically inedible. All in all we paid $40 to make our own slice of toast.

Our band was here for the big birthday bash, and stayed at this hotel for a couple of days. The staff were beyond helpful! From Diamond at the front desk, to Shaquille and Nat at the bar/restaurant, to Charles and the gang at the valet service, it was over the top! The room was clean, and the king bed was super comfortable. The TV was a good size as well. My room had a fridge, but no microwave, but that wasn't an issue for me. The breakfast was good, but options are limited, and it was quite expensive.

We were there for 3 days for March Madness. The only positives about our stay were the very helpful and courteous staff. Rooms are only cleaned every 4 days; Covid is no excuse for this. We had to find housekeeping staff who would give us clean towels. The very nice manager at the desk emptied our overflowing trash himself, when we inquired about where to take it. The in-room coffee setup included just 2 servings of coffee for 4 days. Food was limited to a mediocre and overpriced breakfast buffet, a Starbucks, a bar for drinks only, and a small area to purchase junk food. Rooms are dated. We have stayed here several times but won't stay here again. There are now far better hotels in Buffalo.

My stay this past Easter weekend was not the best experience. The location was great and the price was great but the room was like I was stuck in a time warp of 80s decor. The rug had white stains throughout the room. The room had a almost a musty odor. The bedding was two sheets wrapped around an old blanket that had spots. The bed was old and uncomfortable. The had old technology such as an iPod docking station for the early 2000s. There were also black spiders hovering around the windows. The main elevators were out of order and we were forced to take the freight elevators which there was no explanation because the hotel employee said she was eating a snack. Due to time constraints for a family event I couldn’t address these concerns. I checked out this morning and told the front desk about my experience she said sorry and offered my wife and I water or Gatorade 🤔. I have stayed at plenty Hyatt hotels and my experience has always been top notch but the location needs a MAJOR UPGRADE!!!

Good customer service ! Okish clean room! Nice window view tho which is the best part of this hotel ! . But the only thing is why so pricey for the rooms when the pool is shut down , rooms not updated or clean properly andddd gotta pay for breakfast that's pricey... and the bar prices are nuts and the store in the lobby is to... But other then those things I had a lovely stay here ! Definitely you guys should find better caring housekeepers ! , update everything in the rooms besides the TV... updated the gym room a little and open the pool !!! Have people go at different time's from there rooms... open the spa too ! Just saying if the prices are that much then have that pool open and free breakfast!

Not one elevator worked so walking up and down 8 flights of stairs to our room numerous times was fun with no warning. If anything, that's just me whining about an additional inconvenience and I can inevitably suck that up. Our room has dirty mirrors, stains on the floor, of which, one near the bed may have been blood, there were wash cloths left on the floor from previous guests and the shower had not been cleaned, nor did it drain so I had to shower in a bath with rising water. Will not be coming back.

  • 2/5 Robert D. 1 year ago on Google
When we got there, there was a 15 minute wait to get to our room, which was unprepared. Once we got into the room there was a huge stain on the ground and the room was next to the elevators. We moved over to another one but it was still outdated and dirty in some locations, like the window for example. The main lobby and public areas are beautiful and fancy, but it is not replicated on any floors above. The pool was closed because it was not easily accessible to disabled individuals. I understand why it should be made accessible but it should have been accessible a long time ago. Although the people are nice and the location in the city is perfect, some necessary things must be fixed before it is the ideal hotel it is aiming to be.

June 2022 personal trip; Nice room and view. No complaints except carpet needs replacing in rooms. Bed was ok. Bathroom clean. Lobby area clean. Restaurant breakfast was good. Valet staff was very nice and helpful. Great location.

My over night stay was decent. The hotel lobby has a nice ambience. The bed was not comfortable though it served its purpose. The most disappointing thing was that the pool was shut down. I wish I had known that before booking. I told my girls to pack their swimsuits, but it was all for nothing. No pool or continental breakfast 👎🏽. Not for this price. Thanks but no thanks. I'll stay at another location.

When we first checked in we noticed that only 1 of the 3 elevators were working. When we checked into the room the toilet was running nonstop. We called the front desk and someone came up and fixed it-----temporarily. When we got back to the room that night the toilet was running again and continued on through the night. The following morning we were greeted by nobody for breakfast and noticed that about 10 other tables were sitting waiting for service. I found an employee and asked about breakfast and was greeted with "go sit", which I did for about 15 minutes. At that point my wife and I realized we were getting nowhere and walked down the street to get something to eat. Upon arriving back at the hotel one of the employees led me to the service elevator just to get back to our floor. When I explained this in a survey to the hotel manager I was offered a room at a discounted price which was a very nice gesture. The week we were supposed to take advantage of this offer I had tested positive for covid and was forced to cancel. When I reached out to the manager for a raincheck I have been ignored several times. With all the nice hotels available in the Buffalo I find it hard to believe that so little effort has been made to get business and improve the market share. I'm sure this is not the way Hyatt wants to conduct business.

The carpets throughout the hotel were so dirty they looked to be a gray/green instead of a white/gray. Not to mention all the stains on the carpets and walls. The ceiling of the bathroom had multiple areas of old water that was a dark orange with mold, which takes weeks to grow to that extent and took me 10 seconds to wipe off. The edges of the floor all along all rooms and hallways had a large buildup of crumbs and dust. It was simply filthy and I nearly cancelled on day one and went to another hotel but couldn't due to my budget and short notice on other bookings. I have stayed at Hyatt hotels before as well as other brands and this is by far the worst hotel I have even had the displeasure of being in. The pool was closed, with no notice online, by staff, or on the pool door. The door to said pool opened right up and the stairs up to the pool had old and dried vomit all over them. The pool was empty, which posed a massive fall risk to anyone who might wonder inside. Staff were uncaring about any of it. I received a very minor discount on my stay after voicing these complaints upon checkout which further proves my long standing point that no hotel actually cares about your stay or experience. I will NEVER come back. Also, the AC is locked down so that you can only use the heat in the summer and cold in the winter.

Take it or leave it 👍🏿👎🏿! Was a bit on the pricier side for what it was. Definitely hard to get a room that weekend which may be why the price was inflated. Toilet was oddly low and there was no bathroom fan. Nice sized room and I enjoyed the gym which was never busy. Pool was closed at the time of my stay.

Lovely hotel with wonderful accommodating staff. Very comfortable and quiet rooms. Hot and cold breakfast with many choices. They have a nice patio with high quality furniture. We stayed here as we attended a wedding in the area. We’d definitely stay again.

Stayed overnight with family and friend for World’s Largest Disco. Comfy and clean room. The lobby area is very pretty and it’s nice to have a Starbucks there too! Highly recommend. Valet parking available - very friendly staff. Great location in the heart of downtown Buffalo.

The people make the difference! We could only get a standard 2 Double room because the Miami Dolphins were there as well. We were there for a hockey tournament. Kids were given a space to play in, parents watched football and World cup in the lobby. The Staff get it. They were helpful, from the Valet ( That I didn't use) to management right through the bar staff. The location is great with lots of restaurants in walking distance. I will try and book here first next time in Buffalo!

The property is undergoing some renovations so there is a little construction but it is a beautiful property. The staff was very friendly. Nice breakfast buffet- well worth the money. Spacious rooms. Could use a few more outlets.

My family and I weren’t able to travel back to grand island during the blizzard so we had to book a few nights here while my mom was in Roswell . We were so impressed with how the very limited team handled everything. I’m sure it wasn’t easy given they were all forced to stay and work during the holidays but they handled everything so well. They made sure all guests were fed and taken care of despite horrible conditions outside and did so with smiles on their faces. Joey in particular and the gentleman doing Valet were exceptional.

I am a Hyatt Globalist and stayed here on points with my wife and two children. My Hyatt status was appropriately recognized. Every employee we came in contact was incredibly friendly. I would describe the room as very average for a Hyatt Regency. My only real complaint for the room was that the flush mechanism on the toilet was broken (room 1202) and required opening the back of the toilet to fix it after each flush. The food situation is where this property really fell short. The breakfast buffet was what I would expect at a Hyatt Place, not a Hyatt Regency (and would have cost me almost $90 for my family of 4 if it weren’t for my Globalist status!). There was literally no on site restaurant for lunch. Although I did not have dinner here, the menu did not seem any more promising than breakfast. So, bottom line, I would describe this property as totally adequate (but nothing amazing) as long as you plan to dine elsewhere.

We stayed because this hotel was the host hotel for a convention we were attending at the convention center for convenience. But after visiting and seeing the many options in the vicinity of the convention center, we would not recommend this hotel. After check-in, we went up to our floor and there was a dog barking excessively ( I highly recommend designating specific pet friendly floors and informing other guests that this is where their room is located). I immediately went down to the front desk to ask for a different floor. The employee at the front desk initially said "it was going to be difficult because they were sold out" but with hesitation he switched our room. We reserved a King room and ended up with a smaller 1-Queen bed room on the corner of the building, so it appeared to be cut on an angle, making the space extremely limited. The room was very warm and no air conditioning was available. There was a note that said during the year, no air conditioning is provided and to shut the system off to cool the room down if you desired. Even with that option, the room remained above our preferred temperature. The room was dark and outdated. The tv entirely too big for the room and set to the side of the bed so the only way to watch it was lying on your side. We then discovered that the tub had hardly any ability to drain. Our first shower left us standing in four inches of water. When mentioned, maintenance did come up to address the problem while we were out for the day. When we returned it was slightly better but a dirty washcloth was left in the tub with dirt and grim from what I can only assume was part of them working on the drain. Housekeeping services weren't offered, we did have to manually ask for more towels and washcloths. The Starbucks in the lobby did their best to accommodate the convention crowd, but unfortunately was always overwhelmingly busy and not open past 4. The breakfast buffet was overpriced. Restaurant was not open for lunch. Also, when visiting this area on the weekends, it should be known that there are very little options for breakfast or lunch. We had hoped the hotel would be able to make up for this and unfortunately fell short. I don't think we will be staying here again and if we come back to the convention center for any reason, will plan on staying on a property that offers breakfast at the very least and has a microwave/fridge in the room to supplement for the lack of day options for food.

Would book directly next time due to initial checking in problems as booked via third party. Was sorted after about half hour. Hotel room large and comfy. Any requests promptly dealt with. Beautiful lobby, all air conditioned, which is lovely after a day walking in the heat. Large tv screens and sofas. Bar/restaurant and coffee shop. Beautiful lights strung around. All in all, very pleasant.

Like lipstick on a pig. Yes, it's an old hotel that been renovated many times. I've never, in all my years, seen a hotel not offer housekeeping service unless you stay a min of 4 nights. How is a tiny bottle of shampoo and body wash the size of a lip balm going to last multiple days? Location is good but that's about it.

My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency for the Buffalo Marathon. The hotel is conveniently located at the starting line, which was a huge plus. Our entire experience was positive. The staff was friendly and eager to assist. The rooms are a bit dated but spotless. The lobby is beautiful and spacious. There is a bar, a restaurant, and a Starbucks. There are a variety of restaurants within walking distance. If you are looking for a place to stay in downtown Buffalo, I highly recommend the Hyatt Regency.
