I
know
Roswell
Park
has
an
excellent
reputation
and
I
am
sure
it
is
deserved
in
some
cases.
However,
I
am
not
pleased
with
what
happened
during
my
breast
cancer
surgery
at
Roswell.
First
the
good
things.
My
breast
surgeon,
Dr.
poss,
was
excellent.
However,
the
plastic
surgeon
recommended
by
roswell
that
was
assigned
to
me
gave
me
unsatisfactory
care.
Dr.
Ozturk
would
be
fine
for
someone
who
has
no
other
medical
conditions.
However,
she
is
a
very
poor
choice.
If
you
are
a
Type
1
diabetic
like
I
am,
or
have
any
other
chronic
conditions.
Dr.
Ozturk
is
completely
clueless
about
diabetes.
She
was
obsessed
with
infection
risk
for
me
because
on
the
day
of
surgery
the
anxiety
and
stress
made
my
sugar
go
to
300.
Although
this
is
a
high
sugar,
my
A1Cs
run
between
6.5
and
7,
which
is
very
good.
Control.
Infections
do
not
happen
because
of
one
day
of
high
sugar,
especially
if
there
is
a
reason
for
it.
They
happen
from
having
prolonged
high
sugars
and
pour
a1c
control.
On
the
day
of
my
mastectomy,
she
refused
to
start
my
reconstruction
process
during
the
operation.
Although
I
told
her
I
wanted
her
to
continue
with
the
reconstruction
part
of
the
surgery,
when
I
woke
up,
it
had
not
been
done.
This
means
that
I
am
now
facing
an
additional
surgery,
which
is
of
course
more
risky
than
one
day
of
high
blood
sugar.
Addition,
I
have
chosen
another
institute.
To
handle
my
next
surgery.
They
told
me
if
I
had
come
to
them
first
I
could
have
done
a
lot
more
with
that
first
surgery.
I
would
have
only
needed
some
touch-up
work
afterwards.
Now
I
have
another
whole
surgery
to
do.
In
addition,
they
offer
much
more
experience
with
flap
reconstruction.
They
are
telling
me
that
this
procedure
with
their
team
can
be
done
in
4
hours.
Very
safely,
well
at
Roswell.
It
would
be
a
12-hour
procedure,
and
very
risky.
I
feel
that
ECMC
cancer
team
is
much
more
advanced
than
Roswell
is
when
it
comes
to
breast
cancer
and
reconstruction,
especially
when
dealing
with
patients
with
other
chronic
conditions.
If
you
are
a
type
one
diabetic
with
breast
cancer,
please
go
to
ECMC
cancer
institute.
They
have
much
more
experience
with
working
with
patients
who
are
not
your
typical
cases.
