The temple is very popular among the residents in BM. It's a tourist attraction not to miss if you are in BM. The old corner food stalls beside this Tua Pek Kong temple had been refurbished into a modern hawker center selling varieties of food.

Well organised after renovation work done. Cleanliness and air circulation better than before. More stalls but few of the famous stalls decided not return here. Food price reasonable with the foods meet the standard. Limited tables and seats caused visitors hard to find a seat. Parking also hard to find especially near to Pek Kong Cheng. If you lucky, you might found a car park nearby. There also private car park cost your RM3 per entry.

During the seventh month of Chinese Lunar calendar, which is also the "ghost month" for the year, there will be a giant statue, the king of the ghost, made of colorful paper sitting beside the temple. It's to be burnt later by the worshipers for the hope to bring fortunes and prosperities for the following years to come.

Environment is good but very disappointed with the food..ordered rojak, kuey chap, curry mee, Pasembur, 鱿鱼Eng Cai , Char Kuey Kap.. only curry mee and Char Kuey Kap can make it ..Rojak and 鱿鱼Engcai are the worst..feel embarrassed when friend from Pahang told me thier Rojak is way better than this

Newly renovated and repaired after a fire, the temple and grounds around it has been renovated with the adjacent shiphouses rebuilt. The shophouses are understood to be opened in April and existing and new hawkers and stalls and shops moving in selling various food and sundry items. The old town of BM is slowly but surely undetgoing a rejuvenation to bring back life and a hive of activities both social, cultural and commetcial activities. The temple itself has a ling history. Tourists and visitors as well as locals can also take a stroll along the pedestrian walk some 200m away. Visitors interested in old two storey pre-war shophouses can marvel at the many rows of these old buildings albeit run down and with trees and plants growing from the buildings still retaining the original styles.

It's great to hear that the Tua Pek Kong Temple, aka Pek Kong Cheng (伯公埕) has been well refurbished and that so amazed by the renovation work done. It's always wonderful to see cultural and historical sites being preserved and maintained for future generations to appreciate and learn from. It's a good Sunday vibe to see a group of artists gathering around to draw Tua Pek Kong temple (Pek Kong Cheng (伯公埕). Smile at all the good things that you are enjoying. I love to take photos, so I'm happy I can take them behind the scenes. Kudos to all of them today. 📍Pek Kong Cheng 伯公埕

Newly reopened food space with air ventilators and nice dining environment. Heard that some of the legendary food is reopened, some are newly opened. I heard from my elder in-law who grew up there, Laksa & Po pia are still the old store, Char Koay Kak is from Kg Besar and Curry Mee is from 南美园. I chose Char Koay Kak, pricy not very large, but taste good.

A lot of people, but there is enough seats. I just walk in and seek for a nice spot. Some famous dish may take you more than 30mins. You have to queue and wait for it. No table service except their beverage store have this service.

Been going to this place since I was a kid to pray, enjoying the local delicacies that is available from morning till late night. A place totally full of memories for me. The newly renovated premise and temple is absolutely beautiful, clean, brightly lit, spacious and well ventilated. Some of the long time food vendors have moved out to neighbouring shops thou (within walking distance). An absolute must visit place for food and just soaking in the environment!

Very popular during the Chinese 7th month. Largest celebration in Penang. They renovated post the fire and now have great food options. Hopefully they revive more of the old town to bring back it's charm.

Pek Kong Cheng 伯公坛, after the fire incident, re renovated, the whole building built up with old and new design. It becomes more clean and bright. Beside the temple there is a big area selling food with many food stalls. Quite a jam during morning and night time and especially during weekends and holidays.

If you are coming to pray, is clean and comfortable environment. Recent renovated temple and you can find a few instagramable spot. Next to each side can find numerous food stalls that serve meals all day. I like char keow tiau and if fried it a bit dry will be perfect for me. Other dishes also good Recommended to try.

Well known temple, especially lunar July celebration. Food court beside the temple is a must to visit. Good local food and drinks. Some stalls open after late afternoon. Some repeat food stall, taste differently. Good budget eat here 👍

A nice temple in the middle of a newly renovated food court. Quite a selection of food choices. The food court houses the famous BM white curry noodle. I did not try the food there, except for the China-style chicken skewers.

This is a piece of history in Penang! You should visit the temple which is more than 100 year old. Due to the fire that burnt down the whole temple couple of years ago, it was given a new facelift on the hawkers ground. Food was somehow good but it comes with a premium price. I will not recommend those foods but instead just walk the compound.

This is a newly renovated temple, the previous 133 years old temple was burnt down. I'm proud of this newly built temple. It looks good with all the fine details of a Chinese temple. Well done.

This hundred year old Tua Pek Kong Temple has been well refurbished, i am amazed by the renovation work done. It is worth your visit if you are around this area, go in and pray for the best of everything. You will be blessed irrespective of your religion. By the way, the morning you char kuah (油条) beside the temple is super good, it is so crisp that you won't stop eating. Of course the local will know how to enjoy it with the local brewed coffee-o. It is the World Best Breakfast if you know what I mean.

Well maintained. Understanbly small temple as it is situated smack right in town. Do spend time appreciating the 'artwork and designs' of the walls, floors, pillars and roof. The foodstalls at the foodcourt beside it serves nice food.

Everything was worth trying especially Lor Mee. But Do Not order the Koay Teow Tng. Super expensive, not worth the portion, the taste was like water on koay teow. I ordered once, will never return again for the koay teow tng

Historical temple refurbished after fire a few years ago. It retains some traditional old charm especially a few old stalls along the main road. A memorable place and center of Bukit Mertajam. Hope it’s not too tacky in drawing tourism.
