Great Muay Thai / Boxing gym in Holland Village. Always a blast with the coaches and students, especially when I'm getting punched in the face. Even though I just train for the fun of it, the coaches treat me and everyone else like their star athletes, never failing to help me improve my techniques week in and week out by giving personalised feedback. The coaches play close attention to detail, ensuring that my fundamentals are solid and also each new move I learn is executed correctly. I’ve been attending boxing classes for about 8 months now and recently started regularly going for their Muay Thai classes too, and have enjoyed both classes very much. Each class works on both technical drills, pad work or mitt work and ends off with some form of conditioning. I like that there’s a balance of both technique and cardio. Each session is different and challenging, thus suited for a wide range of skill levels from beginner to advanced. The community at Rebel is also very friendly. There are quite a few experienced members that will help the newer guys out too, making me feel very welcomed especially when I first joined as a complete beginner. The gym is very clean and well maintained, equipment is in good condition and are wiped after each session. Nothing could get me to wake up before 9 on a weekend and yet I do every week JUST FOR REBEL. Long Live Rebel!!!

I started training here for a few months and I think it is quite a good place to learn boxing and Muay Thai. The coaches are friendly and welcoming and the people who train here are also very nice. I feel that my boxing and Muay Thai has improved much more as compared to when I trained at another gym. They teach different techniques every class which makes always it interesting. Their warmups and conditioning also work on many parts of your bodies which is good. They work on many areas so you are more well-rounded. Overall, it is a great gym to train at if you want to learn boxing/Muay Thai.

I trained at Rebel for about 2 months, and I had an enjoyable experience so far. The small class sizes, dedicated coaches who bring a wealth of experience to the sessions, and supportive peers create a conducive environment to train and improve my Muay Thai and boxing skills. Additionally, the facility boasts a well-equipped and padded training area with ample space to train safely and effectively. The Muay Thai classes are intense and dynamic, focusing on techniques, conditioning, and sparring. The coaches keep track of our individual progress and will modify our pad work training with them according to our skill levels and endurance, hence making every session productive. Furthermore, Coach Mel provided detailed guidance when it came to footwork, form, and techniques by providing prompt and concise feedback for areas of improvement. Similarly, in the boxing classes, the coaches pay close attention to each participant, offering personalised feedback to improve our techniques. Both the Muay Thai and boxing classes cater to various fitness levels, making it an inclusive space for everyone. The gym's commitment to fostering a sense of community is evident, creating a welcoming space for anyone looking to enhance their skills, fitness, or overall well-being. Overall, the gym offers a well-rounded experience, and I highly recommend training here.

I casually tried out personal training in Muay Thai and boxing at Rebel Gym before joining group class. In the last six months, I have attended group class more regularly, with a preference for Muay Thai. I have renewed multiple monthly packages so far and I am happy to see that this is proving the longest I have ever stuck with a gym. My original goal was just fitness and a weight target through something more interesting than treadmill and machine equipment. The weight melted quickly in the first couple of months. After hitting this target, I realized that Rebel Gym is able to support any individual training or fitness goal. Being a little older, slower and less agile, unfortunately I would never be the Head Coach’s star athlete or fighter. Still, from being completely breathless and sore to slowly building enough endurance to complete an intense 1-hour Muay Thai class, to then increasing this to double sessions, and to then ramping it up to 3 to 4 sessions per week - seeing myself progress through these milestones at Rebel Gym has been very satisfying. A special feature of the gym is the sparring class. I had never thought I would join, but I have recently completed 2-3 sessions and hope to keep it up. I have received more kicks and punches than I have delivered, but I hope to eventually develop enough skill to even the score. Importantly, everything is done safely and in good spirit under the Coaches’ supervision. Another unique feature of Rebel Gym is that it is a Fight Club at heart. It has a strong record of training students who join and win competitions. All the medals and trophies lining the staircase speak for the passion. As such, the gym is no-frills and non-commercialized, yet it successfully attracts many loyal members. As I gain more experience, I have occasionally taken the opportunity to sign up for training at popular Muay Thai gyms in Thailand, the birthplace of Muay Thai. My beginner fundamentals are always deemed solid and above social tourist average, which gives me confidence in the legitimate training I receive at Rebel Gym. The gym has a strong community spirit, with skilled senior students often mingling with the beginners in group class. While this may initially be intimidating, it is a positive attribute of the gym. All senior students are friendly, humble, and always willing to help the beginners. I have personally supplemented a lot of my knowledge by asking, practicing, and interacting with the advanced learners. The classes are kept reasonably small and there are always at least 2 coaches available for each class. The Head Coach (Mel) is almost always present, involved, and ready to dish out some tough love, and so is the second Coach (Yijun) who is always considerate, helpful and approachable. The gym location is easily accessible and close to the Holland Village MRT station and bus stops. The student demographics are mixed and balanced, ranging from children (in private classes) to older learners. The male to female ratio in group classes seems about equal, which facilitates setting up the class drills. The crowd has both a local and international flavor. The evening and weekend classes are popular with working professionals. The gym also attracts a significant volume of younger followers due to its ties with the NUS and NTU Muay Thai Clubs and Fight Teams. While Rebel Gym is competitively priced for everyone, it offers particularly friendly packages for students. In this regard, I believe Rebel Gym plays an important community role by helping and motivating younger people to channel their time and energy into building useful life skills such as endurance, patience, discipline, humility, perseverance, consistency, and overcoming obstacles. Besides Muay Thai and boxing, Rebel Gym offers small-size Strength & Conditioning classes/HIIT for those who wish to add to their martial arts training or even those interested only in non-martial arts fitness. For anyone serious about a training or fitness goal in a supportive environment, this gym can easily help you achieve it.

I’ve practiced Muay Thai for about 6years in Singapore and Japan. Rebel is my 3rd Muay Thai gym and absolutely the best gym I’ve ever been!!! I learn something new in every class and my skills are significantly improved! 1) Great quality of training I really like how coaches organize training! Every class has different focus area of the day, and coach demonstrates and explains how to use the combination in actual fights. This helps me to learn new techniques and combinations. I enjoy strength and conditioning class as well. Beginner will be paired with experienced one and the coaches/partner will help to check your form. I found my cardiorespiratory endurance and power significantly improved for Muay Thai! On top of that, there is a sense of accomplishment whenever I was able to use heavier weights or do more reps! I started taking boxing classes in Rebel. It was an eye opening as I didn’t know Muay Thai and boxing could be so different! I’m still a beginner but enjoy leaning footwork and combinations for boxing. 2) Very organized and clean Facility is very clean and all equipment is well organized and maintained. It meets Japanese expectation! 3) Amazing coaches and peers Coaches observe student very carefully and give very sharp advices which are the significant enabler for better form, agility and power! I learn a lot during pad works with coaches. Not only coaches but also experienced peers give you advice to improve. Everyone in the gym helps me to push my boundaries for further improvement! I can see my growth because of folks here. Last but not least, it’s sooo much fun to train in Rebel! Rebel has super friendly and inclusive atmosphere to welcome everyone :) 10000% recommend to all levels, nationalities, and genders!!!!

I’ve trained at Muay Thai and Boxing at Rebel for about 4 months and enjoyed my time at the gym. The coaches were extremely friendly and emphasised a lot on the techniques which helped me grow and improve. I enjoyed the hard sparring session with Rebel as I got the opportunity to experiment with what I’ve learned and test my progress against other students at a higher speed and intensity. The Muay Thai and Boxing sessions are comprised of drills, padwork/ mittwork, and sometimes even conditioning with different combinations and different focus each session, so no session is ever the same. The sparring sessions include drills and flow spar which allows us to experiment and apply what we’ve learnt in a controlled and safe environment as the coaches will be looking out for our safety. The coaches always give feedback, both in terms of technique during Muay Thai and Boxing sessions, as well as improving my fight IQ during the sparring sessions. I even signed up for occasional boxing sessions, as Coach Mel suggested, to improve on Muay Thai, and I’m glad to see that it has helped my progress in Muay Thai. Overall, Rebel is an amazing place to train with amazing coaches and friendly peers that has helped me improve and made many new friends.

I've only trained here for a short and told the coaches at the start that I would only be training here for around a month as I would be leaving to continue pursuing my education overseas. Despite this, they were highly attentive to me and were always encouraging me to do my best. Through this, I was able to pick up new skills relatively quickly despite having no prior experience in muay thai or boxing. I was worried at the start that I would be left behind in class as I had no experience but was proved wrong by how the coaches really worked with me on my basics while everyone was practising their combos. Thus, the coaches are able to tailor their classes to meet everyone's level of experience while making it fun and engaging. The coaches were also highly attuned to what might be deemed as 'small things' such as my foot not being pivoted out enough and would correct me when they noticed, resulting in a large difference in the move. Even though I lack hand eye coordination and would consistently repeat the same mistake while being confused, the coaches were always encouraging me, asking me to repeat the move while making the corrections required. Moreover, the small class size allows one to get more attention from the coaches. There is also a very friendly culture in Rebel where people of higher calibre were always willing to help you hone your basics and would offer corrections when they saw fit. During breaks, people would joke around but when the moves were practiced, everyone was serious. Since many people come multiple times a week, one will definitely see some familiar faces if they do so too. The people in the classes also range from kids to much senior folks. Hence, no matter what age you are, it is never too late to join Rebel. My experience at Rebel is highly positive and would definitely recommend this gym! I would definitely return once I have completed my education overseas!

Been training Muay Thai and Boxing at Rebel for some months now and have been enjoying it. I love how the gym is able to train folks from all skills levels and the coaches are also very focused in ensuring that each one improves in their performance. I really like training there since the community is very friendly and everyone helps each other. You surely won't feel left out and will enjoy and feel satisfied after each session. I would also highly recommend getting a personal training session if you want to improve your skills very quickly! Thanks to the coaches in Rebel for always pushing me and bringing out the best in me.
