The branch I went was a bit ulu. Ambient was nice. The nice food amongst what I ordered rendang beef and sayur lodeh is nice. They will give u a printed photo if you are celebrating your birthday there.

Our family celebrated our mum’s birthday and was pleasantly surprised by Violet Oon Bukit Timah staff’s attention to details. Food’s quality is great and some may find pricey but do take into consideration the level of service which justifies the price. For example, crockery is always aligned straight up to position the Violet Oon logo upright, tea is poured into cup prior to serving with the pot and the entire set of cutlery, placemat and crockery is changed prior to serving the dessert We highly recommend celebrating elders’ birthdays here. The staff, especially Mark, went out of their way to ensure our mum was treated like the queen. From customizing her dessert and placing a candle on it, to offering to take a group photo to commemorate our mum’s birthday then printing it out quickly for her, to surprising us by serving desserts on the house. All these were done sincerely and without prompting. We will definitely find more opportunities to return.

A fine dine experience! The food are served in average portion (big eater will find it small), love the pork stew and the ngoh hiang! Definitely can come back again to try.

Food was excellent, service was pretty speedy. While we were disappointed the restaurant is unable to do a unspicy/spiced special order for a young child we had with us anymore, her day was made when the server in charge of making the lace pancakes allowed her to assist him to making of her pancakes. Will really like to commend him/ thank him very much for that. Personal favorite was coronation chicken & tapioca cake. The sole letdown was probably the ketsuri pie as the crust was dense and too thick for our liking.

The place to be if you are looking for awesome nyonya cuisine. The classy interior and high quality ingredients justify the high prices on the menu, which has a mix of some classics and some slightly modern items. Must haves include the kaya toast on weekends, the beef cheeks, and the dry laksa. For dessert the kueh benka is absolutely incredible!

Buah Keluak spaghetti is nyonya style pesto. The big nyonya breakfast was just average too. There was a mistake in our drinks order. I don't think I will done here again as we get better food in Malaysia. Beautiful ambience, average food.

Placed a last minute order to Violet Oon the night before Mother's day. Though delivery was slightly late by 10 minutes and there was 6 sticks of missing satay, the food was warm and nice, and my mum enjoyed the taste thoroughly. Shared a feedback on the missing satay to Violet Oon's contact person, and he apologised for this miss and sent a complete meal of Satays, Chap Chye and Rice the next day. Did not expect this but i was super impressed on the high standards they uphold for their service and the food. Will definitely order more in future!! :)

This is Peranakan food served upper class, on monogrammed crockery. The menu is short, the waiters' aprons are long, the wood paneling is dark and the tiles, the oh so beautiful times are just, beautiful. . Perhaps the genteel environment demanded a more gentle hint of flavours. The food takes a more understated approach. It is as if you steel yourself to meet with a loud bibik/aunty, but you meet the demure sister instead. The dishes here do not explode with spices and tastes: instead you get a pleasant experience - a gentle tickle, a pleasant meal. However don't expect a quiet tete-a-tete here: the many tiles and the makes it a more boisterous environment!
