Cakes weren’t anything special. Especially not world class level. Wouldn’t come again

The ice cream is okay. Some flavours are quite good while others (i.e banana) are not so good; it’s a gamble at times. One thing that’s really unhygienic is that they will take the waffle cone with their bare hands and then handle money also with their hands-repeat for every customer. No other ice cream place does this, other places always use a tissue to pick up the waffle cone

I have buied an "artisan Italian panettone" for sharing it with my family...a totally disaster! Call it "Italian" is a direct offence to the Italian pastiterie. It is dry and not well leavened, the candied orange are cheap, the quantity of eggs is too low... I will invite the "world champion owner" to come to Italy and try the real artigianal panettone...the only thing compareble to them is the price... A fraud

It is a chocolatier shop and cafe. You can buy many sweets, chocolates, pralines and so on. Prices are as they usually are for good chocolate products. They serve breakfast, cakes and some seasonal specials (like onion pie and young wine in autumn), there is also variety of warm drinks.

We entered the cafe and approached the cake counter to have something taken away. We were greeted by one of the staffs. A lady in her 50s or 60s, short blonde hair with glasses. My husband told her that we do not speak German and her reaction was obnoxious. She looked down shake her head with the look of disapproval and this is only because we do not speak German. This is not how you treat a customer. This is not how you treat another human being!

There are plenty of cafés in Michelstadt, where the athmosphere & coffee is way better. The cakes & ice cream are really great. So if you want to try them, get them to take-away. If you sit there you will get the worst coffee in the region. It is really horrible & tastes like powder coffee. On top of that they only serve large cups on sundays, on holidays & if you are sitting outside in the summer. They are charging a whopping 4.90 for a large cup of coffee, which tastes like water with brown color (e.g. small coffee stretched with water). I used to be a regular customer, but because of the "large-coffee-scam" it will be the last time.

During a (July 2023) day trip to Michelstadt from Frankfurt, we ended up in this cafe as one we had intended to visit was on a summer break. This is a typical small-town cafe/Konditorei (confectioner/cake & petit-fours bakery). We were there for Kaffee und Kuchen (afternoon coffee & cake) and the cakes were indeed very nice. The young woman who served us was friendly & adapted easily to a couple of coffee order changes from our group (we were all German speakers; I was the only non-native.)

The place looks quite welcoming from the outside but is rather tasteless from the inside. I had a Apfelstrudel with ice cream, it looked pretty good but tasted stale like old cake. The cappuccino was legit the worst one I ever had. I guess they just mixed filter coffee with milk and added foam on the top. Very disappointed.
