This

could
easily
have
been
a
5.
I
visited
Castaway
for
an
anniversary
dinner.
Castaway
has
amazing
views
of
the
valley,
which
added
to
its
appeal.
The
entrance
is
very
nicely
landscaped
with
beautiful
flowers
and
ponds.
Upon
entering
the
restaurant,
I
was
greeted
by
a
very
nice
receptionist
who
welcomed
me
and
wished
us
a
happy
anniversary.
Nice
touch.
She
first
asked
me
to
wait
for
my
reservation
time,
then
kindly
directed
me
to
my
table
when
it
was
ready.
The
ambiance
was
casual
but
maintains
an
upscale
vibe.
The
restaurant
had
a
great
bar
where
you
could
enjoy
a
variety
of
beverages.
The
bartenders
were
skilled
and
created
some
tasty
craft
cocktails.
It's
definitely
a
good
spot
to
unwind
and
have
a
drink
with
friends.
The
food
was
delicious.
The
menu
offered
a
variety
of
dishes,
and
each
one
I
tried
had
good
flavor.
We
ordered
the
calamari
appetizer,
and
for
our
main
dishes
the
miso-marinated
Butterfish
and
the
Zinfandel
braised
short
rib.
The
ingredients
were
fresh,
and
the
presentation
was
“OK”,
but
it
didn't
have
that
"wow"
factor.
It
was
placed
poorly
on
a
plate,
and
it
was
good.
Meh.
I
supposed
for
the
price
you
pay,
you
semi-expect
a
little
more
effort.
Nonetheless,
if
you're
looking
for
tasty
food,
this
place
won't
disappoint.
Unfortunately,
the
service
was
pretty
standard.
Our
waiter,
Alexis,
did
his
job
adequately,
but
there
was
nothing
remarkable
about
it.
He
took
our
order,
brought
the
food
in
a
timely
manner,
and
refilled
our
drinks
when
needed.
Standard.
I
suppose
I
expected
a
bit
more
attentiveness
and
friendliness.
Another
reviewer
stated
that,
because
of
their
server’s
attentiveness
they
decided
to
order
desert.
In
our
case,
we
weren’t
offered
desert
nor
was
I
made
to
feel
like
we
should
stay
longer
and
enjoy
more
time,
be
it
desert
or
another
glass
of
wine.
I
even
made
the
comment,
“I
would’ve
stayed
longer,
but
I
wasn’t
even
offered
another
glass
of
wine.”
We
also
had
a
“skunk
incident”
where
a
pair
of
skunks
managed
to
make
their
way
under
the
terrace’s
wire
fence
and
onto
the
property
where
patrons
were
eating.
This
happened
three
times.
On
the
last
occasion
that
made
me
stand
up,
I
made
a
comment
to
the
table
next
to
us
that
there
was
a
skunk
behind
my
seat.
The
server
overheard
and
remarked,
“Oh,
he’s
back.”
Okay
(?)
The
valet
service
was
efficient
and
prompt.
The
attendants
were
polite
and
took
good
care
of
my
vehicle,
making
the
parking
experience
hassle-free.
All
in
all,
while
the
restaurant
offered
delicious
food
and
had
beautiful
views
of
the
San
Fernando
Valley,
it
fell
short
in
terms
of
exceptional
service.
The
staff
provided
service
that
was
a
bit
inconsistent,
varying
from
great
to
standard,
which
didn't
leave
a
lasting
impression.
Nevertheless,
if
you're
looking
for
a
place
with
great
food,
a
nice
bar,
phenomenal
views
and
convenient
valet
service,
this
restaurant
is
worth
a
visit.
