Nice place to sit in the shade for breakfast. The tomato salsa was fresh, also the orange juice. The Colombian style empanadas are pleasantly spicy. Friendly staff.

Terrible service and a waste of time. My family and I went there to have something for breakfast. My sister joined the queue at the balcony to order something. A waitress (very impolitely) told her to sit in a table if she wanted to eat in. We did. Then we waited for 20 min and no one came to take our order. We've talked with other waiters and they also ignored us. We just wanted 2 coffees, water and some pastry. Apparently this would be a huge imposition in this place. Very disappointing. We left without eating.

The food was ok, I found the service to be somewhat lacking. Although the place seemed not to be short on staff and not too busy, they just ignored my presence for quite a long while. Even after, the staff seemed a bit rude and reluctant. I had the breakfast deal, of coffee + a toast with tomatoes sauce and olive oil, and an extra coffee and a pastry (which was tasty). Pity - I thought it had a nice vibe…

Bertiz panaderia is a very good place to have coffee any time of the day. You'll find both locals and visitors frequently visiting the place (a good sign!). The location is very convenient to several hotels in the area; and is also about 10 minutes walk to Plaza Mayor. Whilst visiting Burgos, we come over every morning for our desayunos (breakfast) and order the bread-coffee combination which is very economical. You'll also see the morning hustle&bustle by the locals to have their "heart starters". Typically, morning is very busy and tables are taken; however you can have breakfast standing at the bar (which is what the locals do anyway). Staff are very efficient and waiting time is minimal. Highly recommended.

Nice cafe with great pastries & good coffees (excellent latte art!). Really nice chap serving too. My only complaint is why they don't let dogs inside?
