Love this place. They have really great pastries, a variety of drinks and lots of seating!!! I recommend the frosted cinnamon roll and an americano (all sizes are the same price)! Check this coffee and bakery shop out next time you’re in Burien, you won’t regret it!

Not exaggerating when I say the turkey sandwich tastes like a homemade sandwich from childhood. The apricot pastry was delicious. Love this place!

This cute little bakery has plenty to offer. Their coffee is delicious, and their food offerings are perfectly balanced. Their ham croissant is exquisitely paired with their tomato bisque. There’s plenty of seating and staff was extremely courteous. I’d return.

Overall, Grand Central Bakery was a success! The line moved quickly and our food was done quickly as well. The staff was friendly, even during a rush. We tried a blueberry muffin, sausage and egg biscuit, and a ham and cheese baguette. Everything was great quality! We plan to go back again in the future.

Awesome cappuccino and chocolate croissant! Even though they were really busy they got my order out quickly, and the folks behind the counter were super friendly.

Their biscuits are so good and I love to add cheese to their Sausage and Egg biscuit. My wife had the almond croissant. They have dining inside open again, so this was such a treat to be back inside.

This is my 2nd review. The first one didn't post. I find that interesting since it was negative. I love the sourdough bread. The ginger molasses cookies are heavenly. I have only been there three times. Two times were great. One was terrible. Rudest employee I have ever encountered. I spoke with the manager, but was disappointed with her response. However, I won't let one rude, inexperienced and out of touch employee stop me from enjoying their treats. However, if it happens again, we will have another discussion.

Friendly staff, took longer than normal to make our drinks and sadly the coffee tasted very watered down and nothing like what was ordered. The atmosphere inside is nice to study and work. Tried their pastries and wasn’t a huge fan. Hope to go again to see if it was just a bad first impression since they have such great reviews.

Want to buy expensive food, bus your own table, and be asked to tip? Maybe guess if the utensils are clean? We got two homemade potato leek soups with tough bread, a BLT, a quiche, iced tea, and coffee for @$42. and a tip. We had to get our own flatware, napkins, butter, salt and pepper. They give refills on these drinks. The food and drinks were good. The bathroom was clean and had a hook for the purse. I wish the staff was more welcoming. Greet folks who come in the door with a smile and hello! There should be better, clearer signs around the area where they have supplies for people to get themselves silverware. It's right next to the bins to put the dirty dishes. I wondered if they got mixed up. It would have been great to have a trash bin somewhere. I had to look hard for a clean spoon and even then I wiped it off. The place has potential, has a cute look. However, when the staff cleaned tables and noisily dragged the chairs around instead of picking them up quietly and considering the experience and sound pollution for the patrons, it's not so quaint. Why are the patrons asked to tip when no one is being served at the table? The food was good, but I'd try to make it more friendly.

Nice atmosphere where you can usually find a spot to have a nice cup of coffee. this time, I had a wonderful chai latte. The ham & cheese croissant was nothing special and a bit dry. Since I chose it from the pastry case, they wouldn't warm it for me so I ended up tossing most of it. I'll order off the menu next time and update my review if needed.

Came here for a great breakfast this morning. I really enjoyed their latte and sausage, cheese biscuit sandwich. Extremely filling. We finished with an apple turnover (though we were totally full, I just wanted something sweet, too). They have a good amount of seating inside, especially if you get there on the early side. They have a small parking lot and then there is street parking all around. Prices are reasonable and service was really friendly. Can't wait to come back and try lunch items (which you can also order at breakfast I believe).

I was pleased with my visit here. There was plenty of seating and the environment was clean, open and welcoming. The staff provide great customer service, so kudos to management for properly training the staff. The food was fresh and delicious. I had the veggie grinder, which had delicious ingredients, but it has the toughest bread. Eating this sandwich felt like a muscular endurance workout for my jaw, but I think it's because of how the bread is made. The taste of the bread was great. Now, my only drawbacks is that because of the good vibes, this place is busy, and when it gets busy, the restaurant is loud. Like "use your outside voice" to talk to a friend loud. Another one is that I couldn't find the trash can and felt weird putting my trash in the bus bin. Overall, great sandwich, great vibes, delicious cookies, clean restrooms and I would come back if I were in the area and was in the mood for a sandwich.

It's a nice place to be. The bread is fresh, the coffee is good, and the staff are friendly. I wish their portion sizes were a bit higher given the prices, but I've also never gotten sick here so there is an argument for quality. The parking is rough, but better than most street parking in the area. I think if they were to draw arrows showing the flow of traffic through the lot this problem could be easily remedied.

The pastries looked and tasted awesomely, Ordered two sandwiches: turkey, bacon tomato lettuce on sourdough. $16.35 each. For this I would expect more than a slice of turkey- pretty skimpy on both.

I have been to this place many times. The service is good and they have decent sandwiches but the portions are too small for the price. This is my turkey sandwich from few days back.

First time visiting a Grand Central Bakery. I won’t make this location a regular stop. Inside was nice enough and had ample seating, mocha was good, and sandwich pretty good for a different time of day…however, customer service was disappointing, which for me is the ringer. Went in at 930am, ordered a ham & cheese croissant which I could see in the case. Served cold and when I asked nicely for it to be warmed was told there was no way to warm it, which seems unusual for a bakery/pastry place. Then upon taking a bite, it was immediately clear that this was a lunch sandwich with Dijon mustard, full seeds, as a primary flavor. Good, but not for 930am. I was raised by a food industry professional who taught me the motto of “give me the chance to make it right” - so I don’t hesitate to nicely ask for accommodation if there’s an issue - plus, the sandwich was $9+ which is a breakfast splurge for me. I took a few more bites and wrestled with whether to ask for something different, finally deciding to confess the disappointment at the register, asking if I might be able to get something different. I was told without hesitation that I could buy something else but they couldn’t give me anything else. Who knows whether that was a self-preservation decision by staff or a company policy of self-preservation, but that, added to a complete lack of empathy for the situation and the sense I had that I was an imposition or annoyance to staff, and I’ll be happy to go somewhere the customer experience is of higher value.

Great menu, I almost couldn't make up my mind! The danish I got is not your standard Danish, it's decadent. The sandwich is amazing. They also know how to work with their coffee and the foam on my latte is great quality. 10/10

My girlfriend recommended I try this bakery she loves in Burien. The food was good, but the service was awful! The gal at the counter taking our order was practically rolling her eyes as we ordered 3 sandwiches and 2 drinks. Her body language and responses to our requests when our order wasn't right were uncalled for. One of our drinks wasn't made right but we just ordered a new one instead of choosing to deal with her again. She said "we were confusing" when we ordered, so blaming the customer!? I've worked in customer service for 20 years, and This, ladies and gentlemen, was bad service and ruined our visit this afternoon, and ruined my first experience. We spent almost $100 with a generous tip, and had a terrible experience. Her name is Riley. I don't know if you had a bad day Miss, or if we were so confusing it caused you to forget your customer service skills, but I hope it was a one-off deal! I hope if I ever come back I get better service from the employees. Thank you!

Everything is so delicious the main issue is it takes a long time to get anything besides a pastry and drip coffee. I tried to do an online pickup to save some time. They website says to please observe your pickup time like it’s very strict. I had a pickup time of 12:50, came at 1pm and when I got here they hadn’t even started on my order yet, so it’s the same as ordering in store. I spoke to them and they said that when it’s busy they take longer but will not update the website or send you a notification, so my sandwich took 50 minutes and no apology or anything. Will not be returning. Do not recommend.

A quiet Sunday morning outing with the Wifey, decided to try out Grand Central Bakery. To all the hype-up of this Bakery-Cafe, it really deserves more. My wife and I came in to get coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The croissant sandwich was delicious and the mocha I had was incredibly flavorful. My compliments to all involved with making this an absolutely awesome experience. Picture by my Wifey (Willow)

The bread and pastries deserve 5 stars but the staff deserves zero. The gal today was so worried about getting the old lady in front of me to give a tip that she got my order wrong. When I told her so she got rude with me and started slinging bread around. I couldn't leave fast enough. She absolutely ruined my experience.

Always an incredible place to steal away when you want a great sandwich, pastry, and coffee. The tuna melt makes me lose sleep. The perfect blend of albacore, crunchy veggies, mayo, the best sourdough and the melted Beechers with the capers that set it above all other tunamelts. I can't say enough good things about the atmosphere and vibe.

This bakery has a small selection of tasty pastries, fresh bread and some good sandwiches. The only problem is the parking, but it's well worth parking in back for a fresh quiche or scone.

Delicious pastries and sandwiches. Excellent, friendly customer service. Just came in for coffee and a tart, so good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✖️ 🙃 A solid choice The food/bake goods here are very good. However, it was going to be a 25 minute wait for a breakfast sandwich. Probably not the best spot if you’re in a hurry.

Always come here on Sunday mornings to have a coffee with my family. We got the vegan sandwich and a shot in the dark today, it’s amazing as usual. Love all the options, love how it’s filled with families and friends, atmosphere is the perfect cafe experience and in the summer eating outside on the benches is also lots of fun. Highly recommend their coffees, chai lattes are amazing, hot chocolates are too and their coffee cake is wonderful.

Good basic bakery. Very glad to have Grand Central in the neighborhood. We buy most of our bread from Grand Central and enjoy a cup of coffee there once in a while. Taking off 1/2 star for not changing up the bread menu every so often and 1/2 a star for not having more healthy options. Prices of the pie dough, granola and small baked goods is excessive. A chocolate croissant should not cost more than a quality loaf of bread. Would also like to see quality bagels with poppy and sesame seeds + fresh, homemade and affordable cream cheese to go with them.

This is an absolutely fabulous place to pick up a croissant, loaf of bread, or a breakfast sandwich that is out of this world. They also make superb non breakfast sandwiches and have take home items to bake or enjoy. The shop is filled with light and rotating original art and is a lovely place to meet up with people in a large group or by yourself. There can be a line and they close at 3 PM so mind the clock. They do offer online ordering if you’re just looking to be in and out. Their special sandwiches are great.
