The place have it's own charm .Being from the same localities I have a heart to heart connection to this place from childhood. view from the power plant towards the river side is really beautiful in winters as if you are watching to a beautiful landscape . The temple is known for maa ghanteswari and is full of small ghanta (bells). Each bell have its own story relating to an individual. They say if u have to wish for something you can tie a bell with a pure and good heart and wish for it and that will be fulfilled by maa ghanteswari.

Ghanteswari is a famous Hindu temple of western Odisha. It is famous for the Goddess Maa Ghanteswari. As the name indicates, the temples surrounded by lots of bell (Ghanti). There are thousands of bells of different size and shapes hanging here and there which are producing tinkling sound due to the wind heard from a distance. Bells are the Specialty of this temple.People offer bell to Maa after fulfillment of their wishes. It is around 30 km from Sambalpur..The nearest bus stand is the Chipilima Bus stand. It is well connected by the City Bus. The nearest railway station is Hirakud Railway Station..The Combination of Power Channel, Hill and river enhances the beauty of this place.. It looks awesome in the rainy season as the rain water passes through the power Channel the bridge into the river. So it is a must visit place..

This is a must visit place in western part of Odisha. The road and the drive from Sambalpur is enjoyable. The unique experience of the template and dam is surreal.

Maa Ghanteshwari.... The Goddess of Bells. It is said that, those who tie a bell in her shrine, she fulfills all their wishes. Best Time to Visit- During the Rain and Winter. An easy navigation from Chipilima. If you can't walk much, you can request them to allow your vehicle upto the bridge. No need to carry Anything. Diya, Prasad, Ghanti(🔔),chocolates, cakes, cold drinks all available inside. Be careful of monkeys there. They are Pro in snatching Prasad and food items from hand. 😂

It is temple with a special tradition of offering small bells during prayer, hence the name is ghanteswari temple. At the main temple compound photography is prohibited so I am not able to provide any pictures of huge amount of little bells that were offered by visitors over the time. The temple can be accessed by road, BUT if you truly love ADVENTURE then you should visit it from the power house side and walk on the dam. I am providing a picture......you will get the rest.

This is one of the best places you can visit if you're in sambalpur. The temple is full of calmness. The goddess is called ghanteswari( the goddess of bells). According to popular beliefs if you offers bells to the goddess as prayer then whatever your wish will come true. The road to this place is so beautiful, you'll have to travel inside the forest area. There is a hydro power project nearby which is also a great place to spend some time. You can see the view of the majestic Mahanadi river from here.

This Place will always have a special place in my Heart. Awesome place, too religious, and very Beautiful. The devotion with which people have hung their Bells for the Goddess to listen to their Prayers, is Breadth Taking. Overall, Lovely Place

A most beautiful & sacred place in sambalpur & also well maintained. You can feel the real beauty of that place after a small drizzle. The main attractive vibe is a walk in that corridor. But during heavy rain , water over flew through it. & Beware of monkeys; they always made jam the corridor.& As the temple name is 'ghanteswari', you can see a thousand of bells hanging on the wall of temples for their wish. A lot of shop including Puja items, drink, tiffin etc., You can see their.

Nice place. Can't express the experience about this place. Must visit. If senior citizens or kids are with you please take care of them while visiting this place. They might need your help. The usual thing about temples....be careful of monkeys in temple complexes.

Really nice and charming place with bells ringing everywhere around the temple. But the path is not easy as it looks. You have to pass through a narrow foot bridge with water reservoir on one side and around 150 feet deep pit on the other (figure attached). That is nothing but hydro electric project of chipilima. So the journey is adventurous as well as challenging.

Very beautiful temple situated on the bank of Mahanadi River. Mesmerizing scenery, Don't forget to visit the Chimpli Powerplant from the temple. There is scenic route between the temple and the powerplant.

Amazing place to visit. Nature's nice gift to the visitors. The place is located at the bank of Mahanadi. Very close to Chipilima Dam. Don't enter the river here. Tie bell with a wish, it becomes true according to the beliefs.

Bells are tied to demand vows in Maa Ghanteswari temple. There are two ways to reach Maa Ghanteswari Temple. One way leads from Gaushala side. And the other way goes through chaurpur bridge side. Many shops were set up outside Maa Ghanteswari Temple. Worship items are available in those shops such as coconut ,flower, lamp, incense sticks.Other stores Food Snack Ice Cream Chips .

This Ghanteshwari Mandir is known as "Wish Completing" Mandir. People are coming to ask - wish something from Maa Ganteshwari or to complete the process - Tie the Ghanta in this Mandir after completing or receiving what they asked. One can reach this location from Dam road which needs almost 1 km walk on walkway build on Dams' backwater? There is other way too, vehicle can reach very close to Mandir. This 2nd option I liked because it's is fully surrounded by rice farms - it was a pleasant journey. I found very little food options at the location. I visited here in last week of October 2023.

A very nice place on the bank of the River Mahanadi. Temple campus was also clean and darshan to the goddess was in a disciplined way.
