Also, check out my videos of sunset taken by the bogs on 01/04/2022. Check out more pictures I took in end of October 2021. 09/23/2020: If you come here for a village tour, the markets are open from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays. But if you want to tour or hike around the lakes, you can either park at the visitor parking lot in front of the village, or drive directly to some spots by the lakes, or in the pine land. Today I walked around the lakes for about 6 miles in 3 hours to enjoy the breathtaking lake views in this pleasant early fall season. Be aware that the roads around the lakes and pine land is pretty sandy, so wearing shoes good for hiking on sandy roads would make walking easier. Check out my pictures for the beautiful lakes and the cranberry bogs. It’s the first time I realized that cranberry plants are just like crops grown in the fields instead of treelike plants. 😂 And cranberries so light that they float on water. And that’s why when farmers harvest cranberries, they just fill the bogs with water and then let the berries float together to easily collect them. At harvest season, it would make another amazing view for outdoor lovers. Let’s go check it out some time later. Probably around mid-October? PS: check out the following reply from the owner: the harvest season in this part of the farm only lasts one or two weeks in late September. Check out their website or Facebook for further information.

A group (SJODC) hike to spot Tundra Swans! So beautiful. So cold! Lovely. Able to find 2 couples (4 mated swans) floating in cold, cold water. Too far out to capture on photos (my 6s plus phone freezing up due to the cold). Worth the hike to see them. They fly south to winter either along the Atlantic or over to California. Whitesbog is a great place to explore!

The best of what NJ has to offer. I'm biased because I used to be a cranberry farmer. Hope you drink Oceanspray.

Excellent place to take a walk, within the multiple lakes for cranberry growing all placed within a grid of sandy roads snaking in and out of pine forests. Wonderful for wildlife observation and just a peaceful environ enveloping you within a natural and peaceful wrapping. As a musician I also appreciate the many events that Whitesbog puts on, the Blueberry Festival as well as monthly ad hoc music circle jamming "Blueberry Jam" where I have met many wonderful friends and colleagues. Whitesbog is run by ethical and dedicated staff - worthy of your time and attention.

There's a small parking lot, maybe around 20 cars. The historic village itself consisted of quite a few small buildings. We went mostly to pick blueberries at the blueberry field though which was free.

Such a cool spot to check out the history of blueberries. Cool story and tasty fruit. The festival is worth attending for a little education and fun. Get the ice cream and the cookies.

Absolutely stunning place to hike and explore! Clean, well maintained trails, lots to see, very clean composting toilet available. Walking along the bogs is amazing, be sure to keep an eye out for the beautiful Tundra Swans! We were lucky enough to see several (unfortunately too far out to get pictures of.)

Definitely a place I would recommend everybody should go to. There’s a lot of historical information and peaceful places to sit along the boardwalks in the woods. He drops out in to a wasteland kind of looking field. If you want to walk this field you must bring rain boots for shoes you really don’t care about and make your feet protected from water. The museum store looked really nice and said it was open but the doors were locked so that’s why I’m giving it three stars.

Have gone here a few times now. It's a lovely place to walk and relax. It's not too busy so it's pretty quiet too if you like listening to nature instead of people/music while you take in your outdoor adventures. You can check out the historical village, the blueberries bushes from decades ago, cranberry bogs and such. It's lovely.

One of the best hiking experiences in Pine Barrens if you like a combination of blueberry/cranberry bogs and pine woods. Franklin Parker preserve is quite similar but reverts to more wild state with time since bogs there are not maintained.

Visited with 11-yr-old grandson who was fascinated by the history and very happy to go home with a book about ghosts and other quirky things in the New Jersey Pine Barrens.

Awesome little village to explore with ample hiking trails and dirt roads to drive along the old bogs. Walking tours offered or you may take a self-driving tour.

I found Whitesbog very quaint peaceful and interesting. The mini tour was informative learning about the cranberry bogs which were almost ready to harvest The General store brought several childhood memories back and all volunteers were happy friendly and gave excellent history of the Village.

I take my pitbull out there all the time to get her exercise in and usually everyone is very friendly and happy when they're out there. It's just a great vibe. Trails are amazing and there's always something fun going on. Today unfortunately we encountered a snobby woman with a little white dog off leash (my good girl was on leash and carefully inspecting a dragonfly on a leaf when the woman made a big deal saying she's "not too crazy about THOSE DOGS" and put her little trouble maker on a leash. Then she made a comment about how I should keep my dog at home. Unbelievable. First time I had that experience. Not the folks fault of the grounds everyone else is always amazing! Don't forget to check out the garden trail. It's gorgeous!

Great place and area to walk and learn a bit about local history. The old school general store is a cool window into how and what things use to be. They offer snacks, books, treats and memorabilia of times past. The store does not have set hours but you can count on them being open on Saturdays. Besides the general store and the historic village, they offer a wide range of events through out the spring, summer, and fall. I highly recommend visiting.

Was a beautiful day full of fall activities. The band was a great touch to it surroundings. We got to enjoy great food and entertainment. Then go look at the many booth's. There was mix of history among the attractions we got to explore as well. It was a great fall family outing to remember.
