5.14.22 If you enjoy people watching, this is the place. I'm not an attention getter so was a bit surprised by the number of freaks and people dressed in such ways that you just had to stare. There's a time and place for everything so if you have little kids with you, be prepared to see just about anything. On the positive, there are great food venues, music, good energy, and the streets were clean.

This is a nice walking street in the heart of downtown Burlington. You can come here, park at one of the nearby garages, and have a great time, but there are a few things you should be mindful of. This is the middle of a city, and just like every US city there can be some bad people around - just be observant because at times there are some pretty sketchy people walking around, and many times in big groups. This is obviously more noticeable the later in the day in the visit. There are some homeless people begging on this street as well - not a whole lot, but some do try to call out to you and say weird things (today someone was yelling to me if I wanted to see them dislocate their arm…?), so if you’re bringing your kid here, keep them pretty close to you to be extra careful. The whole street and shops themselves are very nice and charming if you look past the two things I mentioned above. Parking is great, especially on Sunday where one of the nearby garages has free parking all day! There are tons of great home goods stores, gift shops, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, clothing stores, cosmetic stores, and more! You essentially have everything in a 3-4 block diameter in the Church Street area. Some of the best restaurants in Vermont are right next to/along this street, and a few blocks in any direction, you’ll find even more things to do. If you’re spending the day in Burlington, come here, visit ECHO Aquarium if you have kids, go down to the lakeshore, maybe rent a boat, ride bikes along Colchester Causeway, visit the Shelburne Museum, try a Montreal spice bagel, and many more! Downtown Burlington is lots of fun!

I love the vibe here! There was every type of shop, live music, and fun for the single traveler and family alike. There are great pictures to take and it is a short walk to the Lake Champlain shore for a great sunset.

I'm honestly really sad. I used to love Church Street, and while there are still a lot of wonderful shops that are worth visiting, the area itself has lost a lot of charm due to continued issues with homeless population. Unfortunately, it does not feel as safe as it used to and I'd be nervous walking here late. I'd still recommend going during the day just to support all the great local businesses, and I hope soon that they'll be able to turn it around.

Burlington is a great town. Our first stop on our trip to Canada. Church St. Market place had live music. The city has a wonderful vibe. Lots of pedestrian friendly areas all around the college and down town. Good restaurants, shopping, activities, etc. All sitting right on the edge of lake Champlain. Definately a stop in or a fun place to spend a few days

Church Street Marketplace is a bustling hub of activity. The variety of shops and restaurants cater to all tastes, from upscale boutiques to casual eateries. It's a vibrant place, always buzzing with locals and tourists alike. However, during peak times, it can get a bit crowded, and finding parking can be a challenge. Despite this, the charming atmosphere, street performers, and diverse offerings make it a must-visit destination. It's a snapshot of the community, capturing the essence of the city's energy and creativity.

Pan handlers and homeless drug users everywhere. This city is doing very little to help these people. Simply ignoring them isn't help. This city needs to take action and offer help and programs. I visited from out of state with my wife and could believe our eyes. People overdosing in front of us. On the other hand, the lake tour boat Ethan Allen was an amazing experience.

I always enjoy walking along church street…good for restaurants, lunch, clothes, gift shops…just occasionally difficult to park. On my last visit lots of stores have closed since my last visit 5 years ago and that includes also a big parking lot unfortunately.

If you’re visiting downtown @BTV, this is a must see spot. It’s like Main Street of every small town you’ll visit, with lots of cute boutiques and food options. You’ll also find public events and a live music. During peak season I recommend making a Resy reservation if you don’t want to wait forever to be seated.

Cute place to walk around, definitely one thing to do in Burlington. The streets are so cute and inviting, little shops and things to do. Nothing special, but it's a nice little walk on a cozy neighborhood.

Nice place, also a tad overstated. It's pretty, it's okay. Cute Street. A good 30min to 1 hour depending on the type of shopping you want to do.

It was nice, but maybe a tad overstated. We were there on a weekend, but not all of the businesses were open and there were some long waits for the sit down restaurants. Street parking was almost nightmare level, but the public parking ramp had plenty of room and was right next to the marketplace.

Rating this strictly as someone with a severe disability. Church Street is a lot of fun, with some great looking restaurants, businesses, and people watching. There not enough seating for folks, in my opinion. And most of the benches are taken up by folks who need to use the entire bench for themselves. The streets are fairly well maintained, but there are spots that are very difficult with a wheelchair. Several of the businesses I visited were just flat out inaccessible to anyone in a chair. No ramps or elevators to be found. I fully understand this is an older part of town, and I knew that before I visited. I still had a great time, but have to leave a Star off because of accessibility issues.

Church street has plenty of restaurants, boutiques, choclatier, arts & craft stores. You can stroll from one end to another and loop alll the way to water front and back. It's near to University of Vermont campus, u can spend easily couple of hours on a bright sunny day.

Church Street is the place to be when visiting Burlington. It's a wonderful stretch of shops and restaurants with every single one having something to offer. Don't forget to walk down the side streets as everything isn't on the main strip though! Enjoy!

This area is so cool. I had no idea it existed until a friend showed me around. So many cool shops and cafes its crazy. If you're in town this is a must see. On the flip side I'm from Wisconsin... does nobody in this state have air conditioning?

Great place to shop downtown Burlington. Most of the shops are local and independent but there are a few bigger chain stores. I like that the street is closed to any vehicle traffic other than a few places they cross. The other nice feature is the area being smoke free and no skateboarding or bike riding is permitted in the marketplace.

A perfect place to walk around during the summer. There's not a lot of shops, but they are quite unique. Plenty of parking space at a cheap price. Even if it's touristy, it's very clean and not too expensive. We had a great time eating on the terrace while drinking a cold beer. Live music was playing nearby which added to the great atmosphere.

A bit of an art deco inspired dream, the main throughway of Burlington, VT offers loads of privately-owned shops that cater to almost every desire. From fashions to ice cream to pubs and eateries. Live music plays here quite frequently and can be heard droning up and down the street. There are usually many people during the busy hours, but not enough to feel uncomfortable. One end of the street hold the beautiful church the street is so named for, while the other end holds the main government buildings. There is a slope to it when you head toward the government side of things, but not terribly bad, even for a big guy with crotchety knees. But the art is mainly why I enjoyed it so much, as much of it is inspired and inspiring. While in Burlington, you'd be remiss if you didn't visit this amazing place!

Lots of shops. Some have been there for decades. Love Ken's Pizza & Pub. Great coffee, pizza and drinks. Parking was a nightmare. There are places to park if they are empty. There are also a couple of parking garages.

Great pedestrianized road. Tons of cool shops and eateries. We stopped in at a lot of places and there was so much to look at. No cars, lots of walking room. We stopped to watch a magic show and listen to some music. Wonderful on a Saturday afternoon.

Church Street Marketplace is an open market place about three blocks long starting from Main Street. It is a street that was blocked and for pedestrians only. Church Street is lined up with shops and restaurants along with Burlington VT City Hall. We were there during the Festival of the Fools and we don't know why it's called it like that 😂 There were various street performers who came from all over the country to perform on that day. We had a great time, and it's a great experience.
