This is the worst Safeway for customer service. ALL of the staff at this location are incredibly rude and act like their entitled and that their job is extremely safe. No respect, snappy, non approachable staff. I ask a question and get my head bit off. Not to mention this location is extremely expensive. The manager at this location is doing a poor job in managing their staff. I will never shop at this location again.

The entire box filled with roasted salted almonds on the bottom shelf are literally all EXPIRED MONTHS AGO!! completely ridiculous and unacceptable. If you want us to pay your inflated prices at least have the decency to keep on top of expired food.

We wanted to get a cake and it was for our friend's bday waited near bakery there was no one there at bakery counter ,after billing. billing associate directed me to a lady called Bev she wouldn't even look at my face and snapped at me to go back and wait by bakery so rudely. Never ever getting anything from this store ever again. Very poor customer service Bev.

This Safeway is on the list of places people 70+ can get a test kit. My 93 year old mother went to get one and was told they were not unpacked yet and would phone once they were ready. No call came so she went back. Then she was told that kits are only available to people who by their prescriptions there. Although she shopped there often (not prescriptions), she won't be any more. This is the poorest service.

What a horrible experience at this safe way McBride. I placed an order for a fruit tray for my kid's birthday party. When I went there to pick it up I was told that they don't have my order at all and somehow it was misplaced. It was 7 pm and the store manager told me that they can't make the same platter even in the morning as it requires some specially skilled people to do it. They offered me a simple platter in the morning that I have to pick up right before party time which is not possible as I already have tons of stuff to do for the decoration of the birthday party. I had to call a bunch of places to figure out if someone can make the platter urgently for me. I had to cancel my night plans and on top of it, I had to pay extra for the rush order. What a waste of time, energy and money it was. It is safe to say I will not buy anything from this safeway ever. It is just not acceptable from a brand like safeway.

Staff are not helpful at all. I was looking for foccaccia bread and had to talk to 5 different people. Not one could help.

I've been coming here for a few years, and there's a reason it's my primary grocer. While Safeways in general don't have the most competitive prices, this location offers a quiet, low-traffic option for shopping early in the day or late at night (It's busy as one would expect during the day). Their food is consistent, their cashiers always greet their customers, and you can occasionally find some good deals at the end of the week as things become marked-down.

Safeway has the best management system ever if you enjoy treating employees and customers like assets you can abuse. Love having to sell a kidney just to pay for normal items that are cheaper elsewhere.....good thing I love masochism.

Most staff are laidback and wearing Poker faces. Customer Service staff would never offer any help even when you are in need of it. Most Poor store management I have ever seen. 👎👎👎

Safeway McBride is good because it is in a hub which entails multiple essentials. For location, gets a good score as it services the community well. As of 2023, grocery stores are not the bestest of friends with the consumer, so given that context, I will not discount a score due to that being a ubiquitous issue. When it comes to general selection and in stock, I give them a great rating. Lots of items. I will say I was unable to find a bulk aisle which may be a byproduct of COVID but still an option I tend to go to for items at other stores. I am happy safeway finally partnered to create a loyalty program, and overall I would say "hey! It's a grocery store!". Good enough. Decent sale items when they are on! Additional flexibility for the customer in terms of self-serve or staffed checkouts is a nice one too. Oh yeah! In house coffee shop, can't go wrong with that.

Found what I was looking for. This location is stocked better than the New West downtown one. It’s a bit out of my way but I usually find things that I can’t elswhere.

Quick experienced caring employees this day. Was a treat , as I was in a hurry. The experience just flowed. I do, like this store, it has been here for probably 40 years.

Safeways in Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam areas had several branches in the past..now closed. Their fresh food offerings are of higher quality compared to other food outlets. However for branded bottled, canned items their prices are about 30% higher than Walmart & not competetive!

Amazing customer service. Bought groceries and also food from the Deli and the people there were so friendly.

This is a very nice store. It's large and well stocked, has a good feeling of fresh when you enter. Never crowded, always cashier present, so very short line ups.

Decent Safeway. Cleaner than usual. Great staff. Will even deliberately stock items you've seen in other safeways if requested. I had a manager notice I was looking for an item unsuccessfully, and went out of his way to get it in. I mean... who does that these days?

Been going here since I was a kid. Cozy store, lots of variety. Some staff aren't helpful at times when we've needed help. Some staff are great! Just like anywhere, their prices have gone through the roof. Some of the produce prices specifically are just ridiculous. I.e. $8.99 for a mini watermelon?? When a large watermelon is $9.99? Doesn't make sense.

Safeway is a grocery store chain known for its savings and variety of goods. They've always got pretty fresh produce and good cuts of meat. This location has a large parking lot but is always busy and tough to navigate because there's so many cars coming in and out. Inside is pretty well stocked and the staff here are friendly. Overall I'd say it's one of the better grocery stores in the area.

Love this store however, it's one of the chains that does not match pricing and nowadays that makes a difference. It's clean and their bakery locations have wonderful breads which we are major fans of and purchase weekly.

This is a location that definitely needs a remodel, especially in the deli. Also needs to carry unsweetened tea in a plastic bottle. A couple of my friends were always looking for this.

Really good produce here, love the cut up fruit to go, and hot meals to go, great bakery goods too! Way better then save on foods which is over priced, and constantly has near expiring goods or already expired.

First time to buy their meat. Who can tell me why the ground beef is brown inside ??
