Burnsville YMCA

Gym Fitness center Swimming pool After school program

👍👍 I really can't say enough good about the Burnsville YMCA. From the time you enter the building, until you leave, the staff is so welcoming. The people coming to work out are also friendly and respectful. It is clean and well laid out. I've never been disappointed in the instructors or the classe... People often mention kids,

I really can't say enough good about the Burnsville YMCA. From the time you enter the building, until you leave, the staff is so welcoming. The people coming to work out are also friendly and respectful. It is clean and well laid out. I've never been disappointed in the instructors or the classes. Working out is something I have to force myself to do many times, but I always leave feeling so much better mentally and physically. I've been a member of the Y for about 40 years, and have attended many Y's. This one is my favorite, and lucky for me, closest to my house.

Wow, I would never ever recommend this gym to anyone. We stopped going here after covid and decided to return a couple weeks ago. It didn't take even one week for us to cancel. The kids stuff is only open a few hours a day at some random times not everyone can use. They have no classes throughout the day... all of which they supposedly offer. They need to be up front with members, especially returning members of all the changes and how they offer nothing but a gym now and charge way more than newer gyms! I left my water bottle the last day and when I called the next morning to ask if it was turned in to lost and found the tall guy who works the front was so rude. He said we have over 40 bottles in there you can come look yourself. I asked if he could check if it was possibly on top of the pile as it is a very distinct and very large bottle. He kept saying there are too many bottles. If you can't do your job and offer customer service then get another job. People have no work ethic any longer.

Thier promos were a scam. Thry told me 1 month for $1.00 then after the month was over, they chared me $78.00. They need to let people know that after the month is over they will be chared for a full month. They are too expensive for their membership. Planet fitnness is way cheaper. Now that bill is in collections and I am still not paying it. I will not be returning.

Dryer didn't work. The life guard was allowing more than their Covid protocol. The life guard allowed kids to dive in the pool and it only stopped when a manager came in. Terribly ran YMCA don't waste your time coming here.

An amazing community asset. The new kid care shade for the playground was a good investment. I don't feel like this is a fancy or exclusive gym, but it is what we need here for these times- a place where we can get fit and focus on our health and community. Swimming lessons are very inexpensive compared to the gift our kids learned. We haven't gone in-person since March, but we keep our membership going to support this great place.

Took our son to swim lessons here. Shortly into his 2nd lesson he slipped under and was flailing next to his instructor, who was distracted talking to the deck manager and neither noticed this little boy struggling right next to them. Life guard didn’t notice, either. Fortunately my husband and I noticed and jumped into action running over there and hollering to get their attention to get him out of the water. We withdrew him immediately. To be fair, management opened an investigation and spent some time talking to me to understand what happened, promising that they would take some form of action. That said, I would hate for this to happen to someone else and feel obligated to share my story. Watch your babies.

Pricing seems to have increased, but classes and equipment seem to still be good. Childcare area is big and fun for kids. Nice waking/running track upstairs. Basketball courts are well maintained. Pool area is perfect for the kids and adults alike. Swim lessons were very good. Friendly staff. Would love to see pricing fixed a bit so we could get a membership again!
