Second time going here, service was slow, not welcoming this time, we felt we were abandoned at our table, first drinks took abt 20 mins to arrive and the whole time we were there, no one came to ask if we needed more drinks/anything else, food took good 30 - 35 mins to arrive, it was seriously below average experience, started with one slice of bread, was cold and stale, please do not order the corn chipotle puree, I got a big spoonful thinking it would be nice, it should seriously not be on the menu, it doesn't go with the steak, was almost tasted like baby food. The carrots were not complementing as well, the steak was charcoaled/burnt too much, the charcoal taste was too overpowering the beautiful meat. We didnt even want to try the dessert. When we told our experience, that it wasn't what we expected we were told " we shouldn't expect a fine dining experience there" I was surprised to hear that, going to Crown to dine in and they expect us to pay the top price but expect just below average service and food? Sad that it ruined our anniversary dinner.

I visited here for a company dinner. Our boss has been here more than 100 times. I ordered the menu as the boss recommended. It tasted great, but I had to wait a long time for the food to come out. Fortunately, I was able to wait because many people were together, but I was sorry that the flow was cut off, and the food was served, but the atmosphere was cut off because they couldn't give wine in time. I waited for an hour to eat the main steak. I really hope gets better next time.

Food is really good, service is a bit of a shambles. Examples of poor service received (poor in terms of what I would expect for a restaurant of this caliber) -starters came very quickly after we ordered; they were delicious but I hate hate hate being rushed at dinner, we also had to ask them to give us 30 mins between courses so we could actually enjoy ourselves which apparently was a big ask. -bread was just plonked on our side plates, we weren’t given the option, nor explained where the bread was from (bakery, made in house etc) same with the accompanying butter. It would be nice to know exactly what I’m eating and from where if I havnt actually ordered it. - waitress didn’t ask my partner how he would like his steak cooked. When she walked away I remarked how odd that was, but we came to the conclusion maybe they like the chefs to decide depending on the cut. Well; my partner went up to ask the waitress (had to get up to ask because trying to get someone’s attention in there is abysmal) the waitress then lied and said “oh I did ask you you said medium rare” - first of all my partner has never eaten a medium rare steak in his life and she definitely did not ask lol but I think she lied because the maître de was standing there. My partner corrected her that he wanted it medium. Spoiler alert it came out medium rare lol so I couldnt have any of it and my partner left half of it uneaten because it was too rare for his liking. Not really the kitchens fault. - chips were dry like they’d been under the heater too long, also we asked for 2 servings of sauce but initially only got one. Also they have ketchup on the menu but no aioli!? They didn’t even have mayo as an option. Seemed unusual for an Australian restaurant. - i ordered 3 of the same cocktails over the entire night, every time I asked for a straw. I think after the first or second time I asked for one someone should remember I like to drink my cocktail with a straw. The last time I asked someone clearly forgot so after approx 10-15 mins after they put the drink down I had to go and find someone (tried to get someone’s attention but was not successful) so I had to get up to ask someone to get me one which took another 5 mins. - when we left to pay for the meal they gave us the receipt which I checked, and then when my partner went to tap his card on the reader it had a value $117 MORE than the receipt. My partners half bloody blind so luckily I saw it and corrected the staff that our bill should only be $400-something not $500 something. So dodgy! In short, would I go again? Mmmm if someone else (that I didn’t like very much) was paying maybe, but there are far better restaurants in Perth that you’ll find equally amazing food but with way better service.

Following a delicious meal 2 Mths ago with friends, decided to take the family to celebrate a special occasion. 2 for 2, Rockpool didn't disappoint. The food was cooked to perfection, service impeccable. It's now my favourite steak restaurant again.

Glad I didn't pay the bill! in this market they need to lift their game. My fish was very average, char grilled veggies well the broccolini was over char grilled, burnt! Pavlova boring, boring, boring. The rubharb was what I should have ordered. Service excellent and so it should be. Really can't see what people rave about. Nothing I couldn't cook at home, i guess prices are only justified by the rent they are charged and many staff they employ. Don't bother, buy your own cow and treat it well!

Elegant settings. Lovely dinning experience with excellent customer service. Food tasted good but most meals had a heavy hand of salt. Excellent selection of wine and alcohol. They have a complicated set of fee structure...see last photo....take home was 5% service charge. And extra charges for groups greater than 8. Along with your public holiday and credit card surcharges.

Love the food and the high level of service that you get. The food is priced as you would expect for a restaurant of this calibre, relatively high but worth the money in my opinion. Beer selection on the other hand isn't as great as I would expect, with only two beers on tap available but a wider selection of packaged beers available. Paying $10 for a middy of mid strength craft isn't great value! The lighting can take a bit to adjust to, being a bit on the dim side of things, but lends to the ambience of the place I guess.

Got there early, at 6pm, and although it was quite heavily booked the Maitre-di gave us a table for two against the window, a very good spot. 😊 We had WA Marron and 400g Aged T Bone Steak from Tassie both done in the charcoal oven ( jarrah charcoal) 👍 & Broccolini and Potatoes Gratin on the side. We chose a lovely red and white from the excellent list. We shared a pavlova for sweets which was a very smart move because it was a huge serve. Table service was excellent from a series of waiters and sommeliers all of whom knew their trade well. A great night out.

A little underwhelmed with the experience of dining at Rockpool Perth. The meal was delicious, steaks perfect, oysters fresh and the desert fantastic. Staff were friendly and service was top notch, I just feel the side dishes were a let down, a little like pub grub. Not what I would have expected unfortunately.

Great food but service VERY slow. Dont expect to sit at a table at 6pm and not get the main course served until 8.40 pm

Excellent care and service. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tasty cocktail and red wine as shown. Lovely steak and prawn pasta (entree size in photo). Chose the mousse for dessert, quite sweet if you hit the caramel spots so make you have a sweet tooth! Even got a birthday cupcake!

Came here for our anniversary dinner (with kids in tow) and all of us really enjoyed ourselves. The front of house staff were attentive and helpful, and they had already prepared some drawing/colouring material for our kids before we reached our table. We had the early seating on a Friday night, and our server advised us to order our drinks and entrees early to beat the rush. Food was great - we had the signature Blackmore Wagyu as well as the Mishima Wagyu and both were cooked to perfection. The Glacier 51 Toothfish was also delicious and the sides were solid. The food did take a little longer to come out as the restaurant was packed, but our server kept the drinks coming and the kids were happy. Definitely a more pricey night out that your average restaurant but the food and service was worth it for us.

I ordered the Wagyu Chuck Eye Steak and a couple of sides. Everything was delicious! The presentation of the Wagyu steak was a bit disappointing, I'm not sure what happened there but for an expensive cut of steak the way it was presented was a let down, what you see in the photo is exactly at it was delivered to me at the table, untouched. It tasted great though, not too fatty and perfectly cooked. The staff were very attentive and provided fantastic service and advice on what to order.

GREAT experience at Rockpool! I couldn't get great quality pics due to the average lighting.. but that was the ONLY bad thing about the whole dining experience! Food was incredible. Wait staff were impeccable and so attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Booked successfully but no table available in deed. The staff picked up the call with arrogant, disrespectful and self-righteous attitude, might she feels like she is the deal maker in this place. Thanks to didn’t book successfully cuz it would ruined our precious New Year Celebration. Rockpool 100% doesn’t deserve it.

Came here for what was easily the best wedding reception meal I’ve ever had. We had a private room and were cared for by the terrific staff. The food was all amazing, and we had a selection of more than just the typical fish or beef. The food that came out was not some cheap version of the real menu, it was the actual dish from the main menu. Drinks were fantastic and they have a great variety of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Have got to say this was quite easily the best wedding reception meal I’ve had to date. Would definitely come again for a sit down dinner!

The 3 medium rare beef ordered was well charred, the flavour was just burnt with no taste of beef and leaves a bitter acrid after taste. When I brought this up with the waitress, I was told the cooking method is char grilled and it's suppose to taste like this and cooking another plate would result in similar look and taste. For the price paid I would expect better.

One of Perth's dining experiences I recently attended for my 40th Birthday and my friends and I were extremely impressed with the experience. Firstly the staff were professional, friendly and didn't interrupt or hide, they were always there at the perfect time. Their appearance and the restaurants cleanliness were impeccable. The menu offers a great range of the highest quality steaks at a great price and everyone loved the food, clearing their plates, sides and deserts. I recommend this restaurant for a great business or networking lunch or a fantastic venue for celebrating any occasion at dinner. Thank you team Rockpool for an unforgettable experience.

A nice upscale restaurant within the Crown Casino that offers an experience you need to try at least once. Great idea for a special occasion or treating yourself. Staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable with a sommelier available to help you pair your food and drinks. The food is inviting and this is place where you'd want to try everything. The lighting can be quite dim in some areas so keep that in mind as I noticed some people having issues reading the menu.

I was so excited to finally get to Rockpool, but was disappointed in the quality of my steak. If I, with no chef experience can cook a medium rare steak to perfection all the way through, (on my bbq) than how can full time professional chefs fail to do so? I was expecting this to be the best steak I would ever have eaten but it fell well short. Hats off to the waitress who swore black and blue that it was medium rare. I commend you backing the company you work for. Alas, it was plain to see it was rare, almost blue on the inside. The offer was made to cook it more if I was unhappy with it, but I shouldn't have to have my steak re cooked in such a highly regarded restaurant. Are you guys guessing how a steak looks internally? Ever heard of a food thermometer? Just lacking in professionalism for the price you pay. Being addressed as "you guys" from the waitress made me feel like I was in my local pub. I wont be rushing back.

Our rib eye steak wasn’t the best very gristly which I wouldn’t mind for a $30 steak but for $85 steak it wasn’t very good. Side dishes were amazing though.

Had a beautiful dinner here, with my partner. The food was absolutely beautiful as expected with plenty of options to choose from. Entrees were delicious and of course the steak for the main was cooked to perfection. The side were spectacular with the warm brussel sprouts salad the stand out. A great selection of drinks on the menu and all the cocktails we had we truly excellent. The rockpool dining group never disappoints.

Could not fault... food was amazing! Service was brilliant and friendly. Was a business lunch lasting all afternoon. We tried all the sides and loved them all. The green mint pea salad in the photo was the tastiest dish I have had in quite some time. That was a 500g aged ribeye... was perfectly cooked. Deseret was a real treat.

It's is a nice place all round great service when you arrive but be prepared to wait for your food. My steak was really dry even though I ordered medium rare. It tasted like it was made in advance and just heated up. Last time I was here it was superb but this time I was very disappointed. At the price point I expect much better. Loved the Horseradisch cream, definitely a standout

We had a group of 8pax for our work lunch and it was an experience to remember. Starting off with the statement entranceway, then dimly lit long hallway with windows displaying the extensive wine & meat selection along the walk. The dining room is vast but sectioned off with different tables & with the use of curtains & booths etc, all while overlooking the impressive open kitchen. We had an amazing array of the menu with a selection to share for each of the three courses. The ever knowledgeable Sommelier took us on a journey through France as he matched the superb wine choices with our food. Our waiter was also very knowledgeable about the food & gave great recommendations for each of our courses. The staff were all very attentive, efficient & professional. We had a delicious selection of entrees. We were going to have a Marron tail each to go with our entrees, but they only had enough for us to share. For our main course, our waiter talked us through the extensive range of steak options & we ended up choosing 5 different steak cuts & the lamb from the grill - each one cooked to perfection as per chef's recommendation. Each piece was a mouthwatering morsel & the quality of the meat was outstanding. The sides & sauces to accompany were perfect to match. Lastly, the dessert & cheese selection topped it all off beautifully. The cocktails are also a must try, we sampled a few from the cocktail list. Take the time to read The House Rules at the front of the Drinks Menu - it is truly gold! A superb top end steakhouse with extensive food, drink & wine offerings. It is more on the expensive side but worth it for the amazing quality. Very impressed overall!

Unfortunately we were disappointed. This was a special occasion. My birthday infact. The service up to a point was very good. We have no complaints about our steaks, they were superb. The asparagus was awful, burnt flavour most unpleasant. After we had finished our main course we sat for quite sometime and no one came to take away our plates or to ask if we would like to see the desert menu, we were basically forgotten. So we decided to make our way to the front desk to pay for our meal. We were asked if we had enjoyed our meal and when I said yes but we were then forgotten about, she just said "oh sorry to hear that " and here is your bill. Will not be returning.

I was quite disappointed in the food. The meat was nowhere near what I would expect such a fancy place to offer. The way each piece was cooked gave it a tough crust that made it hard to cut or chew or enjoy. Our server was still excellent and heard our complaint out. We appreciated her. Other than that, it was really disappointing.

Cozy ambience. Good place for a date night. We celebrated our anniversary here and it was good. We had a wonderful experience. We had their anniversary tasting menu and unfortunately I wasn't able to take photos of all the food. The ones that are not in the photo are devoured straight away! They all taste really good especially the main course and desert! And they surprise us with anniversary cupcake! The food and service is great and we'll definitely come back.

We came here for the first time and chose the tasting menu with wine pairing and even though it was a bit peicy it was a great way to try 5 courses and delicious wines that were maticulously paird with each meal. It was a special occasion which made the cost worth it to us service was nice but not exceptional.

Dined here last night, would never dine here again, we shared 2 starters and we’ve been sick all night, both been on the toilet throughout the night and both phoned in sick with work, my steak wasn’t the best, was like eating a rubber boot, for the price ( $88 ) i was expecting a lot more, when the steak was served i had to wait between 5 and 10 minutes for the potatoes to arrive which made my steak Luke warm, very disappointed but the waiters were very polite and attentive towards us. Not a good way to spend our anniversary 😢😢😢

We had a 6pm booking for dinner , got ushered to our seat straight away which was up against a window. The ambience was nice as soon as you walked in the place. Our waitress introduced herself a few minutes after we were seated which was nice. The cocktail was delightful. The food even more so. The only let down of the night was when we went to pay , they give you a option to tip or not and I declined the guy who took payment his whole demeanour changed, which made us super uncomfortable.

The food and atmosphere stunning. Usually a very busy place and fast paced but very minimal wait time and lovely environment. Its not a quiet place so not for those who would like peaceful quiet time. The most standout is their grill and prepare to receive array of goodies if going for the set menu.

Beautiful ambiance.. and great looking tasting menu. Unfortunately the were some bumps with the food.. My partners steak was very over seasoned with salt.. my quail was over cooked and the sauce on the quail quite over powering.. but the scallops and kingfish were absolutely delicious. The service was outstanding.. I would definitely go back to try something different

We went there on Thursday night and had the 3 courses menu. To be honest I would come back only for the steak. I wouldn't get anything else. My friend had the fish dish and she felt sick because the fishy was too oily and strong fishy smell. The other dishes and the dessert was just okay, but the steak was sooo tasty. I had medium rare and the meat just melted in my mouth.

Lovely dinning experience with very friendly staff. Food were beautifully presented and cooked. Steak was so tender and juicy and very flavourful, happy with the choice of getting 36months aged. Brussels sprout salad was so delicious, light and refreshing. Wag you bolognese fettuccine was disappointing thought, it tasted nothing different to homemade bolognese, was really expecting a ‘wow’ factor to it. Overall a lovely experience, although a little overrated with the prices.

Had the ultimate lunch to celebrate my birthday but was a little disappointed. The starter was lovely but the steak arrived on a huge plate with a piece of lemon 🍋. We waited a while for the bernaise sauce and the 2 side dishes. By this time the steak was lukewarm. The steak was a bit salty, the red cabbage slaw was tasty but couldn't taste the pear and kolrabi and chips weren't very crispy. Not sure why we had to wait for the side dishes as they should be served hot at the same time especially the chips. The passion fruit pavlova was a generous serve but had only cream and a bit of passionfruit, that's all.

Excellent service and absolutely delicious food!! We had the garlic prawns which were amazing, followed by the duck pappaderle and the topside steak. Both were cooked to perfection. The best pasta I've ever had. I wish I could score them more than 5 stars. They deserve it ! Highly recommend

Food is great but service is appalling. Serves cold bread and when asked for warm bread, was told kitchen too busy. Waitress spills water when topping up my glass, apologises but did not clean it up. Dined there a few days before New Years and asked if Crown would be putting on fireworks for NYE. Reply was just "I don't know, Rockpool runs separately to Crown." The person could have at least tried to find out?

Hi quality meals were always expected - the Rib Eye as well as Pasta Fettuccine dishes delivered as expected - however the Charred Creamed Corn (side) and Creme Caramel (desert) were absolute standout dishes on the day so highly recommended! Even the coffee with complimentary caramel coated popcorn to finish was fantastic. Worthy of more than 5 stars!

Ate here last week. Expensive but a worthwhile 'fine dining' experience. Service is polished but it fell away towards the end of the meal, i.e. empty plates took a while to clear. Excellent for people watching in a very modern dining space. I would suggest sharing a steak and three sides between two people. The steak tartare is a must. Cocktail and wine list also substantial.

It was ok but nothing special for the price you pay. Husband thought the steak was as good as you'd be served in most cheaper restaurants, he preferred the macaroni he ordered as a side! I'm breastfeeding and baby has a dairy intolerance so i emailed in advance to find out the dairy free options, they advised me of 2 options but when i ordered the one i wanted they told me it wasn't dairy free. It was also freezing but they gave me a pashmina.

I’ve given this place a second shot and sadly won’t be returning. The staff are wonderful but the food is not worth paying for. I ordered the wagyu bolognese and there was no more than a small child’s handful of pasta and about 3 teaspoons of mince. Who knows where the rest of my meal ended up. Only gave two stars because of the service.

We had a booking on a Saturday at 2.30 because that was the only time left. Turned out to be advantageous because it was a very personal service as there were only a few couples in. So romantic even in the afternoon, with candles lit. We had the signature tasting menu. 4 courses of exquisite food, just the right amount of food and the flavours were perfect. It was a 30th birthday so they brought us an delicious truffle with a candle. The waiters were very knowledgeable and attentive. It was expensive but also value for the experience they gave us. Worth every penny.
