We live in Muramvya so coming here for a decent meal is a nice treat. The service is on the slow side. The food is pretty ok. Good fries and mayo, tasty beef brochettes, yummy wheat ubugali, the beef twatundi is a highlight as are the fish brochettes. From the balcony you can often see Lake tanganyika but sometimes the whole area is covered in fog. Bring layers just in case it turns out to be a cold day; there is quite the cool microclimate here.

Good place for resting especially if you enjoy the cold weather of Bugarama.

The place was amazing really beyond my expectations so many others as well. You think yourself you are in Switzerland in the Alps mountains, literally it was beyond what I thought off and what I have seen around the world, and I have seen A LOT. I do highly recommend visiting this place if you got the chance to be in country, actually YOU SHOULD NO MATTER WHAT. One last thing, food was cheap we were 10 people all ordered nice meals with beers, multiple of them, for me to pay $50 at the end. Yes, you are reading it right 128,000.00 FBR equivalent to $50.00 so go do the extra step and enjoy.

We did the hike on mountain, visit to a small village and then dinner after. Our guides (Justin and Claude) were very very nice. Our ride was extremely bumpy due to poor suspension of van provided to us. The whole experience was nice. Even the view and location of the lodge was great. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is the food they provided to us at dinner. We ordered chicken salad sandwiches, chicken and fries. There was hardly any meat at all on my chicken. Very sad chicken 😂 the sandwich good but needed more filling. The fries were delicious too. Mayo here is different and flavorful. Just felt cheated about the chicken, felt like they cut off the meat and gave us the bones.

Rooms: The rooms are very rustic, meaning no heating and almost never any hot water for showers even after the sun has been hitting the water tank. The bottom floor room has the ensuite bathroom, the upper floor rooms share. Two of the upper floor rooms are barely large enough for the beds to fit in, though really you should only be there for sleeping. Just be careful getting up in the night to stumble to the bathroom. Service: Once it gets rolling, they are great. It just takes a while to get moving. Average wait for coffee and food was an hour...and had to order twice. Lunch and dinner service took a while as well, but the staff was quick to refill empty beer glasses as soon as they were empty! Recommend not being in a hurry, order breakfast the night prior, and just enjoy the views!

Very beautiful location, worth stopping at for the view and photos! Simple but nice lodging. Decent very simple brochettes, but the chips were not crispy.
