Reception excellent. Rooms and bathrooms very good. Restaurant very good. Swimming pool and gym facilities. Fronting the 6th largest freshwater lake in the world. Breakfast spread is very good. If you need to take a taxi or auto just walk outside and hail one. Costs about 3K to 5K to the city centre. For longer distance use Wasili, the equivalent of Uber in Burundi. Free airport transfer.

Terrible service and horrible rude staff! Served fish in a vegetarian pasta and refused to give a refund. Do not recommend, save your money and do not go to a place that does not understand basic food allergies and requirements.

Absolutely lovely property and amazing staff. Everyone was super friendly and helpful at all times. Relaxing, comfortable, and restful. And there is an airport shuttle included. I will definitely return here, just a wonderful place to relax and recharge.

2023: Be aware, you must pay upfront per person to enter, but any food you buy is credited to that amount at the end. Recently updated the pool bathrooms. Very nice. It looks like you can now walk out far in the big swimming pool which is nice. Sadly, it’s extremely expensive to go swimming now, so we don’t take the family anymore. Food is average. The Fish Brochette and chips were very good. The chicken pizza was well made and nice quality cheese, though was quite bland in seasoning and they forgot to leave off the onions as we ordered for the children. My mother likes the samboussa. Sadly, they had a large EAC delegation that took over the covered beach seating, but they wouldn’t let us sit on the other beach side patio by the Buffet restaurant unless we were buying buffet meals (with little children it was ridiculous for the 30,000 price for kids 😶). 2019: Beautiful pool area and the children’s wading pool is wonderful. Cheaper on weekdays. The food is average. The cheese burger was very tasty (little to much cheese) and I added grilled onions and avocado. But very relaxing to relax there on the less busy weekdays. The beach is very nice and you can get drinks and food service out there, though ALL service wether poolside or beachside was rather slow, even though we were the only people there most of the time at the pool. There is also a volleyball net on the beach

Stayed for 2 nights in different rooms. Overall, the experience is very inconsistent, but there were some similarities: - wifi is hit or miss. Don't count on it to do any work-related stuff. - AC in the rooms is paltry - mosquito nets around beds - fridges in the rooms (one of them didn't work and had the plug sitting in standing water) - water bottles provided - restaurant service was really really slow (i.e., 45-60 minute wait), but food was fresh and hot - breakfast had a decent selection, but never asked if we wanted any made-to-order eggs or anything The inconsistencies: - one room had no hot water but the other room did - second room had leaking bidet that staff just threw a towel on the floor. We shut it off and that solved problem. Had to call for clean up. - garbage can in bathroom not emptied in one room and was filled with used female sanitary products. - one room had great water pressure in the shower and the other room was so-so Overall, this is supposed to be a 5* property, but was the worst quality of the hotels we stayed at in 4 countries in this region (including another property in Gitega). it appears all the NGO/missionary people stay here.

I love to visit this place because of the best swimming pool in Bujumbura that has really clean water and is not too busy, so one can enjoy proper swimming training without being disturbed. If ordering a dring, be patient. Your coffee or coctail will arrive within an hour. The entrance fee is 22.000 BIF on Saturday, 30.000 on Sunday, 8.000 BIF is for drinks/ food. The swimming pool is cheaper from Monday to Friday. I have not stayed in the hotel overnight, but I asume it is great.

Deemed one of “the best” hotels in Burundi. It does have its shortcomings (slow service, broken things in the rooms like sinks and doors, etc) but comparably it is a good place. The gym is nice. There is beach access. The place to eat breakfast is beautiful (view of the lake). The breakfast selection is OK but it took me 4 nights to realize you could also order eggs. There is definitely a customer service deficit compared to places more accustomed to visitors. The rooms are getting old and I had several problems with the sinks and plumbing… but I also understand the context of where I’m reviewing this hotel. The hotel is mostly occupied by ngo/diplomacy workers. And some missionaries. It never felt busy when I was there from friday-tuesday. It is far from the city!!! Not ideal if you have many meetings in Buja. But great for relaxing! There is good wifi (I never had problems) Next to club du lac is Garden Eden which is beautiful and brand new.

The WiFi connection would sometimes go unstable but, in all honesty, internet isn't missed much on vacations. It's important only for those who have business to tend to while staying there. It is well noticeable that the hotel staff try their best to keep up the excellent service along with the hotel's maintenance. Special thanks to Mrs. Irene Perlasca and the entire Front Office and Reservations team. Great breakfast too!

A sleeping giant. The hotel has so much potential with great location but is slowing fading away with dilapidated facilities. The rooms are old, and the bed squeaks, the bathrooms flood and many other shortcomings.

Nice place. Beautiful night view of Bujumbura. Good kitchen. A lot of good vines to choose. During the day is possible to see funny monkeys and nigh time hippopotamuses.

Better off staying in a hotel near city center. The WiFi/internet constantly disconnects and it’s very slow. Lumitel cellular network does NOT work in this hotel. Bottom floor rooms seem to have WiFi connectivity problems. Rooms are very humid and the AC struggles to even blow out cold air. The windows are panels that slide open/close - this means you can never get a completely closed room. There’s no point to upgrading to a junior suite because that couch area doesn’t have wind flow/AC unit - hence, humid and hot. Food and service are good, albeit expensive.

Best customer service in Bujumbura. We were very well taken care of. Service was excellent. And the drinks were very nice too. The environment was pretty clean and looks really nice. We loved it.

Beautiful, beautiful place. We came for the day and ordered lunch. Food took a while but we expected that. I had the croque madame since they were out of croque monsieur. It was ok. Basically a grilled cheese with a fried egg on top. What saved it was the cappuccino I got later. We ended up not swimming so we got our refund back much to the eye rolling of the cashier 😂 Great place to get away and relax. Save your $$ on food and don’t order from restaurant.

The personnel is helpful, the location/outside area is wonderful and the food is very good. However, the hotel is run down and the rooms are not clean. There is very poor internet connection and no hot water, and the room phone barely works (which is problematic as people are quarantining in this hotel at their arrival to Burundi and are not supposed to leave their room). Mostly, again, the rooms are not clean at all.

Like many places by Tanganyika lake, many areas were lost as result of elevation of water. The hotel has excellent internet connection, fast and friendly service. Installations can be better mantained and water in the pool is a bit funny.

👍👍 Kiriri Garden Hotel, which is located in a posh and secure area in Bujumbura is certainly THE place to be. 🫤 800$ for a room that’s just super average. Your restaurant is terrible! Food only came 1.5 hours after it was ordered, the way this hotel is, it’s very unprofessional! Besides that, there was a lack of apologies for the mistakes done by the staff here! Terrible overpriced place. Stale bread and bad...

👍 The good and the bad. The manager was kind enough to allow me to stay in the room for the published price even though I didn’t have a reservation. It is twice as expensive as what you see on Google. That shouldn’t be surprising because you are staying in an apartment, not just a room. They had nice...
