Economic, courteous English French & Swahili speaking staff. Normal food. Decent rooms, ordinary washrooms. Situated in the town.

Food was a little spenny for the region, and wifi didn’t reach my room. Otherwise a decent overnight stay.

Average service, food is ok, rooms and beds are of an archaic style, showers nothing special but all around if you need a place to stay for a night or two, I guess it's ok.

Well located in town, accessible and affordable. Some room for improvement in kitchen and hotel services.

Helena is an interesting beast. Located right in downtown, she has a tendency to be noisy, through no fault of her own. Thankfully though, that makes it easy to walk to wherever you may need to go. The restaurant is good, although in typical Burundi fashion, not quick. The rooms are nice and are clean enough, but are all so very dark. I've done zoom calls in the rooms before, and even with all the lights in the room on, you couldn't see me in the call. I'd have given Helena an extra star if only her showers were better. We have a group staying here and out of 7 rooms, 3 have effectively inoperative showers. Unacceptable. The black mold didn't help situations either

Reasonable hotel in Gitega hovering between a ranking from my end for 2-3 stars. The good breakfast (which was nicely served in time) eventually decided for me to make it 3 stars. The room however had some things to improve - there is a window above the door, so if the light in the corridor is on your room is flooded with light; the bathroom had a very strong smell and is not ventilated - nothing is anywhere near to sound proof in this place, and there is a noisy road in front. However, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was great - had an enormous portion of various fruits plus some very nice pancakes. Lunch was also good. Probably one of the better (and definitely cheaper) options in Gitega

Clean spacious rooms...delicious food though the language barrier may be frustrating...waiters can hardly speak a word of English...and the menu is all in French! Be sure to try out Mukeke fish which is endemic to Lake Tanganyika...finger licking 😋!

(Translated by Google) I only ate there. Considered one of the best in the area because of the lack of competition, we are far from the gastronomic but we eat. (Original) J'y ai uniquement mangé. Considéré comme l'un des meilleur du coin de part l'absence de concurrence, on est loin du gastronomique mais on mange.

Rooms are nice and big: huge beds, big bathrooms, hot water. Rooms are moderately clean (staff is at least trying). Wifi is available but struggles. Restaurant food quality is poor.

Spacious and comfortable room, huge bed. Overall design of the hotel is off. Restaurant feels more like a huge corridor, plain drab walls, cheap plastic furniture, harsh lighting, drab look and feel. Waiter service is warm and friendly though they don't speak English! And the menu is all in French! Food is very tasty, especially fish like Mukeke which is only found in lake Tanganyika. As the top hotel in Gitega, ambience is zero.Burundi is rich in culture and history and the plain walls could provide a canvas for local artists to display their works. The tiled floors give the hotel a cold impersonal feel. The reception area is tiny and drab. It's however surprisingly cheap!
