A lovely park, great for a short walk. It has a beautiful large angling pond with ducks and geese which is lovely to walk around. A playpark, basketball and tennis courts all available also. A popular dog walking location. Would recommend for those wanting a short walk to stretch legs and enjoy some nice scenery.

In the 8 years I spend sleeping on a hammock at the centre of the lido in this great park I never once was asked to vacate. Not even by Billy, the one eyed, one eared caretaker with a heart of gold. A top shelf quality of ghosts can also be heard screeching from the nearby woods, making your nights and early mornings feel like you're inches away from the tortured souls that haunt the shadows and football fields. The grounds are well kept and the amount of dog poo bins abides by the Dog and Emu Waste Disposal act of 1783.

It's great for everybody. There's a play area for kids of all ages. There's a tennis court. Some good walks around the woods. A big green area to exercise your dogs, just make sure you clean after your dog. It has a small lake which I like very much. You can walk around it two or three times. The council have converted part of the lake to wild foul. They have their own place to shelter for ducks, geese and coots, moorhens. There are nests in their own shelter. There is also a cafe and meeting room run by age concern but lately this facility is closed due to Covid. Anybody will like this park. Well done Bury Council.

The one star is purely for the children's play area. It’s horrendous, dangerous, unclean and must break every health and safety regulation for children's play area’s that ever existed. I had visited it with my 2 year old granddaughter and couldn’t believe my eyes! Seriously what are Bury council doing? Other than leaving themselves open to lawsuits!! Swings missing area’s of the play area so badly damaged either from neglect and or vandalism it’s so sad. Please do not take children to this play area. I have emailed the council, not that it will make any difference. Queen’s Park in Heywood is amazing. It’s bit further to travel but worth it.

Really nice beautiful park. Bigger than you may think. Park is split in 2 and has great walking paths and big open fields and also a little lake or pind, not sure what to call it . You have a smaller park mainly for kids and has rides and entertainment for kids and really good walking space and second part of the park is mainly for dog walkers or for larger group of kids who want to play football or any other sport. Plenty of space to just lie down and sunbath on the grass as well. Has extensive walking Plath's which I haven't explored either yet. All in all its a really nice park hidden away and you wouldn't expect this park to be where it is as it's just off the main road.

THE WOODS. Great for walks, children can run/walk freely with being open space no traffic. Being able to think for themselves. See all wildlife, flowers, nature. Learn survival skills without beargrills. Now the only downfill is a lot of the trees land been turnover knocked down as there where machine diggers dumper trucks etc there six months ago.

Had a walk here at 8pm in the evening. Nice and tranquil. Saw a couple of fishermen; some dog walkers; and some families out with their prams for a final walk and some fresh air before bedtime. The Lido and children's park are a lovely asset to the community.

Nice little park. Had a venture up to the Lido where there were little RC model boats having fun and some racing a circuit. The park was okay. Plenty of field space for dogs and kids to run about. Plenty of parking too.

Great place to visit and feed the ducks. There's a cafe beside the lake. There's also a children's park a short walk from the lake. And it's nice to just have a walk. There's also plenty off parking.

Great place for a few hours fun especially when you factor in the lovely lake and exploring the woods. Ice-cream from the cafe. Just wish the council would upgrade the children's play area.

A well loved park with lots of things to do. A community group looks after the park and arranges regular events that anyone can attend. It has Green Cafe which can be used by the local community groups, a bowling club, tennis club, play area, Secret Garden and lots of other things! All in all a very nice place to go and be!

Clarence Park in Bury is a Green Flag awarded public park that has been open to the public since 1888. The park offers a wide range of activities for visitors, including a lido, woods, kids play area, and sometimes an ice cream van. The park is well-maintained and clean. It’s a nice place to spend a few hours outdoors with family, friends and to get the kids worn out from running around.

  • 4/5 Paul E. 8 months ago on Google
Very nice park, well maintained, plenty for all the family, kids play area, plenty of benches around, and you can also walk around the lake, good size carpark and if full you can park on the street.

I very much like the 'life' at Clarence Park. People go there; families, the elderly, dog-walkers, couples, and others on their own. I suppose all the play equipment in the play area is a bit tired now but it's solid and suitable for kids of all ages. Lots of space and beautiful surroundings of really, really tall trees and greenery. Beyond the park there's also a Lido, and then a skate park to the side of that (with compulsory broken glass, graffiti, and litter .....but you know the kids still have a blast) And then extensive woodland with lots of well defined trails and paths to be explored. An ice cream van will usually turn up at some point. And today there were loads of Canada Geese, ducks, and a pair of swans at the Lido. There are nesting areas where you can clearly see ducks roosting. Parking is usually not a problem and the bus to Bury stops just outside the park too. Take a flask of coffee and some sandwiches and have a nice afternoon.
