Hot or cold weather there is something to suit. Tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches for the early morning walk (vegetarian options are also available). Ice-creams and shakes now the summer has made an appearance. Biscuits, cakes and other snacks at any time. Great to see them open after the tough year. New exterior canopy and outdoor seating a great addition shelter from rain or sun to suit

Very dog friendly cafe, great coffee. I always order a sausage and egg muffin. You can buy little dog treats too. Lovely and cosy in the winter and some outside seating for warmer days.

Horrible experience, myself and my daughter were made to feel extremely unwelcome. Staff reluctant to find us a table as there were only two of us and the only tables they had seated 4 or more. When eventually we were seated (and by that I mean reluctantly asked to perch on the end of the largest table they had?!), we were then approached by who I think was the owner, in a very rude unfriendly manner, asking if someone (a member of her staff) had seated us there. Insinuating by her tone of voice that we had chosen the table ourselves and she was not happy about it as we had taken up 'valuable space'. When I informed her that we had indeed been seated there by a member of her staff, she was clearly annoyed and then proceeded to ask me to remove my daughter's small stroller pram and leave it outside. We are nice people and I have never been made to feel so unwelcome. Seems to be plenty of nice treatment for dogs, but not a mother and her very well behaved little girl. Isn't this meant to be a community cafe, where everyone is welcome? Certainly doesn't feel that way! Will absolutely not be returning and neither will the rest of my family, who on hearing about this were utterly horrified.

I had an amazing fry-up with the nicest black pudding I've had in ages. The staff were very nice and even the other clients were lovely engaging in warm exchanges with us as they relaxed and enjoyed their cappuccinos and snacks with their cute pooches. One of those places that's on my list to visit more often for sure! 👍

Staff very friendly and obliging. Choice of in/out seating available. Tea of good quality in large cup. The BLT in oven bottom bap was very tasty and recommendable the cheese and chutney sandwich also loads of cheese and again value for money. Would revisit

Been twice now. The first time we had a very tasty salmon & cream cheese bagel, with salad leaves which were excellent. The second time we popped in for 2 flat white coffees. They were superb and probably up there with the best we've ever had. Those Peruvian beans they use which are roasted in Manchester are a winner. A highly recommended cafe in a lovely beauty spot.

Super reduced menu. £3 for toast that took 15 minutes to arrive, unbuttered, no jam. Super disappointed.

OK if you are a dog lover because they are allowed in. There are notices asking people not to have them on their knees and to take them out if they start barking. Some people ignored these requests.

Lovely food and drink to warm us up on a snowy winters day. And very welcoming for dogs too - our pooch loved it!

Lovely cafe in amazing surroundings! Dog friendly and provide dog water and biscuits. Toilets clean, tidy and well equipped. The cafe itself is only small and a little cramped. It was almost full when we arrived and once we were seated the people sat in the corner had to squeeze between my son and the person sat at the table at the side of us. Several times during our meal people were having to squeeze between my son and another diner. Not pleasant for either of them. Drinks were delivered some time before our food. We ordered a pot of tea for two and it arrived with a very small jug of milk. We had to ask a few times for more milk. I ordered a tuna melt panini that was served with 'salad' (consisted of a few leaves and some red onion) but when the waitress served it she only gave me a knife - no fork. Had to ask her for a fork. When food is brought to table the waiter/ess then asks if you would like sauce. Our waitress ended up going back and forth several times before we could start to eat. Mayonnaise was served in a tiny pot, (could have used at least 2) brown sauce was a squeezy bottle. Service was disorganised. The food itself was very nice but not the cheapest. When we had finished eating my son was returing our plates, cups etc as we always do when we eat out and a waiter said to him a little abruptly "you can leave those".

This is absolute must if you visiting the park but also lovely place to have coffee, breakfast or lunch. We are regular customers at The Lamppost (me and my son) and we love the fantastic drinks served, the coffee is so amazing! my son is the hot chocolate fan!so creamy and lovely presented! cakes are so tasty and full of flavour! My son is very fussy about his eggs Benedict and he tried them here. He absolutely loved them, eggs runny, sauce amazing and just lovely!Last but not least is the staff-so kind and attentive, always smiling and helpful!Thank you!

A real gem! This is such a fantastic dog friendly establishment with lovely staff and delicious food on offer. The eggs benedict with salmon and baked avocado from the breakfast menu were amazing. A great place to visit with friends, family and your pups! Amazing cakes to take away too. Well worth visiting if you're local or passing by!
