Good beer and great service. The landlady is friendly and conscientious about ensuring social distancing and making sure trouble causers are asked to leave. If every pub was run like this, everything would be fine. We feel welcome and safe.

Good pub and a great landlady

We go regularly & always have a lovely meal unfortunately on Friday we were very disappointed. There were many empty tables but every one of them had dirty plates etc on them & we had to clear the table before we could sit down. When the food arrived it was barely warm. Usually someone comes over & asks if the food is ok but nobody asked. It seems standards have dropped. When we left, the tables had still not been cleared.

I've had many happy times in this pub over the years including my wedding reception. Steve E is the best landlord I've ever known, does all he can to please and serves excellent food. The Sir Robert Peel will not disappoint, well worth a visit.
