Great place to take your 4×4 or dirt bikes that is close by. Please keep it clean.

Very small riding area. Not monitored by rangers. Great for beginners. Not too many hills. Mainly all flat land. If you're looking for an adventure, I'd recommend elsewhere but overall, great place to take your kids riding in their learning stages.

This is always been a cool area, it's a" borrow"area to remove dirt for the building of what was at the time the largest earth filled Dam at Oroville California. They actually built a small train line to transport the required clay for the dam the 10 miles or so up to the construction site. I remember coming by here as a child and there used to be a huge separating machine with conveyor belts loading the trains. Now it's just a big huge hole that they designated as a vehicular recreational area with a shooting area at the far end away from the rest of traffic. At times of high rain it becomes a lake and that's what the video shows the beginning of it starting to fill. Maybe I'll come back with some pictures in a few days as they have predictions of up to 6 in of rain for this week.

We drove a long wat from Yuba County to get here but it was worth it! No drama, nice, clean and safe. We had a great day and we will definitely be back with the grand kids.

My two sons and I bring our dirt bikes to the clay pit, it's close to chico and free, a bit bumpy lots of rocks in some places. Everyone has great edicate and seem to play safe. If you want a clean friendly place to bring your toys this is a cool spot, just dont be there after sunset or you will have to meet a really cool park ranger like I did, lol he was really awesome to me and my sons but it is true he has other things to do besides waiting for people like me who cant read closed at sunset signs posted at the front gate to strap their bikes down and depart so he can lock the gate. All and all the clay pit is a really clean pretty cool place to hang out. Shooting range and lake are close by also.

Could definitely use more rock pits and bigger. Only one small one but was a great place to mess around in 4wheel drive.

Clay Pit is a great spot to take advantage of getting used to your off road vehicle. It would be better if there were more tracks with jumps in my opinion. Overall good place to ride.
