Amazing experience in the winter. You get to see tens of thousands of migratory water fowl spending the winter. Lots of hawks - red tailed, red shouldered and coopers. We also got to see four bald eagles eating a fresh kill which was pretty amazing. Finally, we got to witness the breathtaking sight of tens of thousands of snow geese taking to the air all at once and then heading off to a different location in formations.

Peaceful and quiet. Have done many improvements to make bird watching even better. Toilets are clean, not smelly. Hiking paths are easy. Even saw many turtles on this trip. It's honestly one of our favorite places to go, even my 9 year old son loves it.

Beautiful scenery. There is great, easy trail around the wildlife ponds that includes points of interest along the way. The trail is perfect for all ages and abilities - paved trails are great for wheel chairs and strollers. The variety of wildlife is awe inspiring.

This place was spectacular.. arrived just after sunrise and it was windy and chilly. Took the 3 mile car only loop to get the lay of the land. It was stunning.. as that were more birds than I had ever seen before. Ducks, coots, vultures, and so many others. The vehicle loop does not allow foot or bike traffic. And you can't get out of your vehicle. But I took so many pictures on that trip on the loop. Then I got out and took off on a 3 mile walk/hike on a path just for foot traffic but no bikes (again). More beautiful sights, and more (a ton more) birds. $4.50 to get in-honor system. I'm coming back again because different birds are there depending on the season. Go and do this... you will not regret it! Pack a camera.. and enough space on your memory cards or phone to take a ton of pics..

Fantastic place for birding. There is an auto route to follow that takes you around all the ponds where you see huge numbers of geese, ducks, and other birds like Bald Eagles, Red-tailed and Red-shouldered Hawks, and egrets/herons. There's a hiking trail too if you like walking and an observation platform. There is an entrance fee which is waived if you have annual California DFG Lands Pass.

Nice little museum and shop. See examples of the birds in the area and purchase guide books. They do have limited guide sheets for birds in the area. They have a nice drive-through bird-watching road with occasional parking areas. There is a large, raised bird-watching platform with pit toilets on the route. We saw our first bald eagle in a tree next to the road the last time we went. Great birding area in the Central Valley flyaway. Huge flocks of snow geese can be observed in February and March. They are open all year. You will find various water foul whenever you go. Water in the rice paddies make for striking sunset photos with the Sutter Buttes and the Coastal Range in the background.

Nice paved trail to snot nature. A lot of scenery. They have places for you to go In and enjoy bird watching. Porta potties along the walk. Quiet and relaxing. Seating at front to enjoy a packed lunch. Take some sunblock if you’re going in the summer, you’ll need it as there is not much shade on the walk

Grey Lodge needs to use signs and have them posted where we can see them. I'm not going out for a nature outing just to be yelled at. Park employees, this isn't the wild west. Treat attendants with respect.

This place is gorgeous. It has well built trails, and tons of birds. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice and easy hike that has lots of animals.

This is an amazingly beautiful place, full of an assortment of migratory birds. There's a paved 0.6 mi. trail, a 2 mi. dirt trail, and a several mile automobile loop road. There are 2 "blinds" to view from, but with nice weather we didn't need them. The $4/person entry fee seemed pretty reasonable.

I cannot say enough about driving through Gray Lodge. We did the drive through tour and drove about 5mph. We stopped many times for great bird viewing and everyone seemed patient and cool. The birds were fantastic. Turtles sun bathing, Cotton tail rabbits darting around and pelicans even!! Best $5.00 ever spent. You can't help but feel like a National Geographic photographer out there with your cell phone camera even. Trails for walking, a room to watch birds while out of the weather. Great for anyone!!

I like it it’s my first time being there and I like the nature walk. I got the sauce terrors and fish, and it took us as a class. And I like I like that that’s because of the class in high school you should go there it’s fun

We had a most lovely, family-friendky experience together enriching my 9yo son's homeschooling experience. He learned about the local riparian habitat on a 3 mile driving loop with hiking trail for viewing birds, bunnies and numerous trees and shrubs.
