This is one really beautiful cave. I recommend all should at least visit it once to be enthralled by its natural beauty. This cave is awashed in a multitude of colours, it's simply beyond description. There are also different levels of tours tailored for individual capacity to traverse this 1.9 km long cave. Go visit. You will be amazed by how beautiful this cave is.

No booking required, just walk to counter to buy ticket. Went for the most challenging and extreme tour, the Grand Tour. Experience the darkness of the cave and crawling on the mud. My total journey was 5 hours plus. Definitely worth the money. Recommend to wear gloves and elbow pads. Shower and toilet are provided outside where you can change yourself after the tour. Definitely one of the cave in Malaysia that you must explore!

Amazing & fascinating caving experience, especially for cave enthusiasts or casual visitors. Definitely, worth to explore such a huge limestone cave with stunning underground river & underground waterfalls. Truly, a big shock to me , the moment I entered. A gigantic dome makes us, with one stunning blow & speechless. I’d been told by the authority, this formation took 250 million years ago. Four types of exciting & adventure tours available that you can choose from. Facilities inclusive of toilets, changing rooms, surau, & shop for refreshments. Let the journey begin! Indiana Jones here we come. Highly recommend for underground river tour adventures.

Enjoyed visiting and exploring the cave. Unhappy they charge tourists extra for entry - there is no reason for this. It takes about two hours to explore the caves at the first level if you walk slowly and explore the place. Lots of parking and toilets at this location. Can also purchase tickets for rafting here too, again must pay extra if not a local.

A stunningly beautiful cave to explore! They open only after 8am so don't come too early. There are 4 stages in the cave hike and we walked only stage 1 and 2 which are relatively easy and took us 50 mins to complete. Very humid and will make you sweat bullets but not very hot. Stairs and floor is slippery so beware! River trekking on stage 3 and 4 seem very interesting but they only open for groups of more than 5.

4 different tour options can be choose, for wet tour I think will have tour guide lead you. I choose for dry tour which completed the route in about 1 hour. Saw a group of tour exploring the wet path looks more adventure and interesting. Used to have much more colorful lights in the caves but now just left white and orange lights. And no tour guide lead us for dry tour hence I don't know the history of the cave.

Excellent experience awesome cave it's so big they have dry tour and wet tour and belive me you do get wet and on boats with small tunnel to crawl through so if don't like small enclosure don't go just go on dry tour as its a walk through cave of 650m then walk back again plus many steps very steep

Magnificent and breath taking location. Hard to imagine this vast cave system was carved by the sea millions of years ago when the Malays peninsula was submerged underwater. There are 4 types of tour here. I highly recommend 2 of the tour. Tour 2 (Dry tour) = RM 12 per person Tour 4 (Wet and dry tour) = RM 30 per person 9am-12pm Make sure you have a torchlight or a headlamp to get the full experience of these tours.

This natural cave is huge. It's almost overwhelming the sheer size of the place Inside there is a track for you to walk through while exploring Gua Tempurung. Plenty of have rails as well It's very cleverly made with the track snaking in and out, up and down while offering amazing views. Keep your eyes on the roof, you might be lucky enough to see some bats as well Highly recommend. It's a good 120m high over about 600m. Make sure to bring water

It is a must visit place when you come to Perak! We took the dry tour 2. Mentioned on the info card it took 40 minutes to complete the tour but actually we done it in 2 hours, maybe because we were mesmerized by the beauty of the cave. The cave trail was crowded during the weekend/public holiday. Better to come as early as 9am to capture the good moment peacefully.

Not a bad experience. There's a designated path for you to follow. On the 2 easier routes, there is no guide. Also it's quite hot and humid inside. Took the second route and spent about an hour inside. Be prepared for lots of step climbing.

Had opted for Level 4 caving experience which covers the river as well as the deeper extents of the cave without any of the stairwell. Boy was it an experience! Caving up in the dark with only headlamps and no sense of depth was freaky and a little scary. There were many spiders and crickets sharing the path (all harmless and completely uninterested in the humans invading their space) and a colony of bats with their poop littering an entire area at one point. The cave had many spaces where it was slightly tricky to scale but if you're a person with an average level of fitness and a will to do do it, you can. You will sweat, inhale a lot of dust and have to crawl through tight spaces so do read up before choosing level 3 or 4. Level 1-2 can be done by anyone as long as they can walk up and down several steps. Level 3 of the caving experience was all about the stalactites and marble formation from limestone. There were gorgeous structures and a lot of walking down the river stream in the cave. I managed to spot a lobster too! I had an unforgettable experience this time round (I had come here once and only done up to level 1 end then) and I am glad that I did it.

One of the best places i visited in Malaysia, the cave is so big, with 4 levels to around 3.4 kilometres to discover, the cave have 2 tours dry and wet tours each one with a fee. The dry one in two level first one with 600 m the second one with 1000 no guide is needed for these two fees 30 ringgit for 1000 meters but for students 12 ringgit. About the wet tours guide is needed you must bring swimming cloth with head light to discover the area. Important thing wet tour available from 8 am to 12 pm. You must consider that befor go there. There is area inside the cave with about 650 metres distance with a wind area you can enjoy the fresh air and rest called wind tunnel. I recommend this location.

We really enjoyed this cave and practically had it to ourselves for a bit. It’s a large cave with several options for tours. We did the dry tour, but it looked like the people on the wet tour were really having fun in th water down below us.

One of best caves explored... Not sure how a big complex network of cave is formed. Clear steps with adequate lighting is provided within. We walked for 2 hours long the dry path still can't complete the entire trail. Advise to take both the wet and dry one. Ensure to start the trial before 12PM.

The first hour of the tour was educational, However, the real test came when we stepped off the metal platform. The tour includes a lot of climbing, sliding down muddy slopes and crawling through streams, I would not recommend it for anyone with weak knee or back muscles. We had a one guide on our tour, and he was excellent and quite informative. It was a fantastic test of my mettle! "I can't imagine doing that again," I tell myself, but the truth is, "you should do it at least once in your life." Going on this adventure with friends makes it even more enjoyable because you get to see parts of the world that you would not normally be able to see.

If you're looking for an adrenaline rush adventure in Perak then you shouldn't miss this caving activity. It is amazing to see this gigantic structure lying under the ground. You can choose which activity package you want to do. I saw some tourists who were just until station or level 3 but the more exciting part is when you go with the entire caving trip which includes sliding and going into those cave holes. Right before you start the entire activity the ranger will briefly discuss safety measures and what to expect during the caving. Approximately it was a 4 hour activity depending on how fast the group is. You will see stunning natural landscapes of stalagmites and other natural rock formations. The first part of the activity was more like an educational trip where the ranger will explain the first few levels of the cave. Then comes the trekking part. I suggest that if you're not into strenuous activity before you should wear something that will protect you from getting scratches as the rocks can be sharp. As you go farther the lights are becoming less until you reach those parts that have no light at all so you really need to bring your own headlight. Not sure if all the stations really got light coz I can see wiring and lighting cables that are not turned on, might be busted though. Anyways if you're planning to go with the caving expect that you will get wet since you also need to crawl into the cave river and if you're afraid of a close area this might not be suitable for you. I like the entire adventure though, this one is for the books. 👍👍

We did the dry tour 2 and completed it in less than two hours, including photo taking. Some stairs can be steep but overall it is safe and the caves are well lit. We bought the tickets on the spot.

A great place to visit, with a beautiful drive and a clear road. The surrounding scenery with the mountain view is breathtaking. There are two packages available, one for RM8 for a 40-minute round trip and another for RM12 for a one-hour round trip. It's a stunning cave, but be careful when exploring it. It's not recommended for those who dislike walking. There is ample parking space available. Highly recommended !

If you're adventurous, I highly highly recommend the wet tour. I got the third package and had an amazing 3+h journey to another world 😂, definitely not for the faint hearted. Advance booking is recommended to get the time slots you want. If you wanna be a pro, get knee and elbow pads, socks, long pants, high power torch light. Note, you'll be crawling in sand and swimming in the river.... All in the dark.

Best place for caving. Multiple level of difficulties suitable for all age group. We took the level 4, which was the full package. Went through series of stairs and followed by caving, with multiple exciting challenges. Best part was the rivers flowing through the cave! Everyone should experience this wonderful place

There are 4 different tours here, First 2 are dry - anyone can walk which usually takes 40-60 minutes. The other 2 are wet which needs guide and there are scheduled tours available to book at the counter. If you are adventurous then you must try wet tours. Overall it's good place to spend time.

Gua Tempurung is an awe-inspiring marvel! As a passionate traveler, I was captivated by its breathtaking beauty and thrilling adventure. The limestone formations within the cave are simply mesmerizing, taking me on a journey through time. The guided tour provided fascinating insights into its rich geological history. Exploring the cave's depths was an exhilarating experience, filled with excitement and wonder. For nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike, Gua Tempurung is an absolute must-visit destination. Prepare to be amazed!

Beautiful cave! I was especially wowed by the flowstones that looked like chandeliers from the ceiling.. you’ll feel small and awed in this million-year-old cave! Dry tour 2 took 1 hour round trip total (with rest and photo stops) They are several flights of steps, but manageable overall as the path has railings throughout.. it is pretty humid, though there’s a nice cooling spot in the Wind Tunnel.. so bring some water and a small towel if you’re the sweaty sort.. There are no toilets inside so do use the one at the entrance!

Nice place to hike in a cave! Tickets are reasonable, there are 2 options: 1. Dry route 2. Wet route, need a guide (appointed by the management during the ticket purchased).

It's a massive cave. We did try the second course: Top of the World. Make sure u don't have any allergies to bat or any phobia as the stairs is quite steep. But the experience is worthwhile. Above all, the most important thing is stamina.

Will repeat for sure. Love the place and there are a few different packages to choose from. It is not suitable for people with backache or any problems with health. You need to have slot of energy to climb the stairs ( looks like easy.. but it is not...!!) Or else you will be left behind. The workers were friendly and they have made my visit worth it. Looking forward for my next trip there.

I'm not a fan of damp, wet caves. But the cheery entrance, well-lit staircase and awesome limestone structures help a lot in improving the experience! Feel free to join the wet tours which looks so enticing, especially in the hot humid weather of Malaysia.

We took Tour 2, which was a dry tour 600m into the cave and 600m out. At the entrance, they will ask you to take a photo on the pretext to check the people going into the cave as safety precautions and try to sell you printed photo when you exit the cave. You can reject their offer to buy, and they will accept it with a smile. The route has a lot of steps and can be quite tiring for the weak. It is also very humid and warm inside. There is only one place where there is a cool breeze. The cave is quite dark despite the lighting and hard to appreciate the surroundings, and it is made worse when one has to keep looking down to mind the steps. Overall, it is a do-only-once activity for the dry tours. We heard there are people who came back for the wet tours a few times.

If you feel seas, mountains, waterfalls are the credit making tourist attraction, then make a sure point to visit this 16 million year old place. It has a mesmerizing beauty of its own. There are four level of exploration, white water rafting being the last. For the first two you dont need any special attrire since you will be walking on stairs. But be careful of the slippery floors. Lots of birds around the park outside and ample amount of parking available.

A very good and majestic place to visit. They have different packages for 'Dry' and 'Wet' tour. I didn't take the 'Wet' tour bcz we came late. but I would definitely recommend for people to take the wet tour and come early before 10am so that you can enjoy the whole place with its every beauty. And bring snacks and food also. Dry tour is also good and it has five platform and it takes almost 1 hour for the whole tour.

This place was great! We wanted to join the level 4 tour but was told both level 3 and 4 are closed for the day. We were later told that it was due to the high water level in the cave for these routes and therefore would be unsafe to do so. It was professional of them to do all these checking to ensure our safety. Nevertheless, we took the dry tour, which cost rm12 per pax. It’s a self guided tour, but do look at the banners right before entering the cave to look out what to look out for. It took us around 1 hour plus for the whole tour as we took our time enjoying the cave. As it rained a little when we came, it was cooling inside, yet we were all sweaty because of the stairs 🤣 Do wear comfortable shoes and hold on to the railing as the stairs are wet and enjoy! 🤩 However, one thing to note is that, we actually tried to call and message to ask about the condition for the level 4 tour on the day we depart, but there’s no replies. Yet, would definitely come again and try our luck for the level 4 tour! 😍

Nice cave views with affordable admission fees. Magnificent stalagmites and stalactites can be seen from different perspective with our bare eyes that give you a surreal experience. Recommend sports attire as it is rather humid in there although it is cool inside cave for dry tour. Would definitely try wet tour next time. A highly recommended tourist place in Perak for those who enjoy nature.

Beautiful cage for novices to explore. Its well maintained with clear paths to walk/ hike in. If you're a beginner you can enjoy the dry tour which is available throughout operation hours but for the adventure-thirsty, you could opt for the wet tour.

Must be one of most underrated tourist destinations in Malaysia. Place is clean and well maintained and good for all ages and fitness levels. Plenty of stalactites and stalagmites and the wind tunnel will amaze you at the science of it all. Make sure to wear light clothing and comfortable shoes for the multiple level staircase climb. Set aside at least an hour for the basic tour.

Beautiful n exciting even on my 3rd time here. Best to do the Stage 3 caving which takes about 2 hours. One way in n different way out. Stage 1 & 2 is just climbing stairs n return by the same way.

Did Tour 2, moderately strenuous for sedentary people like myself, but I enjoyed it. Lighting is poor, the ground is slippery, and some stairs are steep (not fun for acrophobes) so keep in mind to wear the right footwear and bring a torchlight or something 😉 Was rather crowded It can get stuffy because we gotta keep our masks on, so take it slow and enjoy the views in the cave My fav platform was the Wind Tunnel

  • 5/5 Allen T. 1 year ago on Google
Great place to visit when you come to Ipoh. There are various packages could be selected and Option 2 was chosen where the tour will be covered up to Platform 5. It's a bit tired and challenging since it requires long distance walking and climbing, but the overall experience was really nice where you can enjoy the view.

Loved this place! An amazing cave, the dry tour goes till 4pm, you can go any time. The wet tour is only in the morning, usually once or twice around 11am departure. They close wet tours after noon or so. One thing to be aware is availability of Grab ride from the cave. We had to get a taxi back to Ipoh from Tempurung cave. The ticket office can arrange one.
